Looks great. Always secretly wanted one. Smoke & high idle are due to cold startup. Disregard any haters.

Yes needs a bit of tuning but this is a show bike so will not get ridden much...

We we road these in South Africa in the 70’s and 80’s. They had a thirty year cycle. We had Kawasaki but Honda and Yamaha 50’s were the most popular. Suzuki to a lesser extent. Honda and Yamaha had a scrambler version as well with the same engines. Mine was an RZ 50 I think Kawasaki also had the DT 50. For 16 year olds transitioning to full open licenses by 18 onto a 1000 cc potentially.

This bike is actually a South African bike that was filmed a few years ago after the restoration. We still have it in our collection in New Zealand. All of the big four Japanese brands had on-road and off-road versions of these 50cc bikes the MB-5 was the MT0-5, the RZ50 had the DT50, the Kawasaki Ad Ar50 and the AE50 and Suzuki had the RG50 and TS50. Thanks for watching remember to subscribe. You can also check out more great 50cc bikes on our website www.my50.com

Depends on your oil. There’s a separate cap near the fuel tank for two stroke oil. We used to put fish oil and sewing machine oil to add some extra top end. Lying down with your legs on top of the rear signals and a 14 front 42 rear sprocket gave us 102 km/hour on a straight without any mods to the engine.
