Philadelphia has a monopoly on producing some of history's greatest bassists!!! Stanley Clarke, Jaco, Alphonso Johnson, Victor Bailey, and Nathan East are all from Philly!!! Nathan is not only one of the most respected, recorded, revered, and accomplished bassists in history but he is also one of the humblest, coolest, calmest, and funniest people on the planet and is a joy to be around! Every session and concert stage that Nathan is in and on is better because he's there! It's all about serving the song and the artist's vision and not himself. Thank you for a great interview!
Hey Nat!!! Line6bassman!! Great special guy that Nat! My story with Nat!! I took lessons with Nat at Artist work, we have a great video of him jamming with one of my songs!! Too Cool!! And one night he messaged me watching one of my UA-cam videos while backstage waiting to go on with Eric Clapton in London, to a small fry like me.. :-) And is one of my subscribers to my UA-cam channel. You Made me feel special that night! Thanks Nathan for the memory if you ever read this!!

I first saw Nathan perform at the Guitar Legends concerts in 1991, he was probably my earliest inspiration for learning to play bass. Great guy :)
Great interview, thanks! (Ellen, stop swinging! :D)
Great interview Ellen. What a great guy Nathan is. It must be a pleasure to work with him, unlike many others I can think of.
Mark that sting ray is smokin' hot. Very nice!
Nathan is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
Awesome interview Ellen!!!
I want to hear that Stingray!

Fantastic and humble bass player. Annoying interviewer that doesn't seem to be able to sit still.
