Remember, I am no expert so take everything you see with that in mind.
Thanks for watching.
I hear the Buckmaster uses voltage baluns in Thier OCF dipoles which can create RFI problems. Is this free of RFI in the shack?
My first HF antenna is a home brewed off center fed, half wave, long wire dipole. I need to get it up higher in the tree and trimmed to decrease the SWR. It's got too much reflected power as is. But first I've got to get an HF SWR meter. 73 from K9POW in eastern Tennessee.
Getting a little cool to work outside.
i am curious. I can get 25 feet up center and above 8 feet at lowest end. Only issue is long leg may have to be bent at right angel to fit 8 feet of 43 foot leg in yard. Have you done more tests higher?
Sorry. No.
Looks like a good antenna but the proofs in the pudding. Are you going to make a video of you making contacts? I think that would be interesting and maybe even help Tim sell more antennas. Thanks for sharing this video Tom and 73 brian.
I may make a video of me Attempting to make contacts. :)
What type of Balun is used on this antenna?
Typically it is a 4:1.
Looks like you are using the PC Host software for the MFJ-226...WHERE can it be found today...apparently MFJ has dropped it from their website OR have it well hidden. thanks
Maybe here: www.we1u.us/mfj-226/index.html
I must of missed the lengths of each leg Can you tell me what they are
The lengths will depend on the frequencies. For instance, this antenna which will work down to 40 meters is approximately 23 foot and a 45 foot, totaling 68 feet.
Good Luck in the contest. ;-) kc2nxp
Thanks
