That's been my attitude since seeing the image. It didn't take me too long to get over how the suit looked. The lines and wrinkles don't bother me as the suit will likely look smoother when he's standing or in action, but it's something that allows him to move. And the background has me more curious as to the story. Going along with how it looks slightly battle damaged what we are seeing could be Clark and Lois's apartment. And we could be seeing Lois's perspective. She's come in and she finds Clark putting on his suit to go out to another battle. At least that's what I'm guessing.
Agreed, looking forward to a bit of footage to get a sense of the tone of the whole thing. Exciting times to be a Superman/DC fan.

It just hit me, the suit might not be ‘his’ suit. It could be his father’s and it doesn’t quite fit. Like, he’s stepping into his father’s proverbial shoes. That would explain his demeanor- he needs the suit as armor against whatever threat that is, but he’s thinking he doesn’t live up.

One of the biggest challenges that filmmakers have is,,, to create a comic book series of films. that starts off grounded in reality. Then try to infuse the fantastic, magical or sci- elements into the films. As well as storylines and the characters. That exist in comic books. Which is probably why the Snyder films did not connect well with audiences. Well One of many reasons why the Snyder films did not connect with audiences (I can go into detail on that lol). Perhaps James Gunn is doing his best to blend the fantastic and the realism within his first outing with Superman. I have to say,, I trust James Gunn. He has yet to fail me lol James Gunn did a great job with mixing realism and fantasy in all of his last few outings. He did a great job at all three guardians of the galaxy movies. The guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special & the suicide squad. As well as peacemaker. Which I believe peacemaker came as a surprise to all of us. James Gunn is a master storyteller. He seems to go through every aspect of the film with a fine tooth comb. Not only with direction, set design, wardrobe,, but with the actual characters and their personal stories. He’s also been able to avoid running into social political issues. that exist in our own world,, within his films. All characters are well balanced. Without diminishing other characters based on race or gender. James is a great storyteller. So I’m going to trust James does,, until I see it for myself. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the new DC list of films and characters. I’m hoping that Marvel changes things up as well. X-Men 97,, so far so good. Hopefully, they can translate that success to their live action films. Deadpool is looking good so far.
That was extremely well said. I agree. He is just a fantastic story teller. You can see that in the early stages of his career all the way through until now. He was a relatively unknown director until Guardians. Someone asked Kevin Feige why he chose James Gunn to take on the film and he simply said it was because of his story telling abilities. That's what matters most. I've felt something in all of his films so far. So I've got my fingers crossed with you 🤞🏻. Thanks for the comment 🍿
I’m just grateful there’s another Superman-centric film coming out. Hoping for a much brighter more hopeful Man of Steel with this new DCU.
I think all of us have felt the lack of Superman over the past few years. It will be great to see him again. I'm actually looking forward to the score. Both Reeve and Cavill had epic themes so no pressure on the poor bloke trying to find his own take on it. Thanks for your comments 🍿
The whole Solaris thing makes sense. A superhero with another big star in the sky is a groaner for me but will have to see. Could be great. Could be bad. My guess half the fans will say it’s the best Superman ever and the other half will say it’s the absolute worst. The normal moviegoers will be the ones to decide. Not comic book fans.
I always find it crazy when people declare how terrible or great a movie will be off of an image. Until we've actually watched it, who can truly tell? But as a fan I would love it to be good. Let's hope it's epic. 🍿

Glad to see the belt and trunks. Suit is battle-worn and dirtied. More realistic in those terms. Suit is an amalgamation of different features of the Superman suit over the decades -- something old, somethinf new, something borrowed, something blue. As far as the image, it's Superman back to work, back in action. The image doesn't faze me. And All-Star Superman was a contemplative warrior who was accomplishing heroic feats one after the other. Gunn takes inspiration from that comic, so it totally makes sense. It's a good suit. If the colors popped more on the suit I wouldn't mind. The hair, no big. It's a battle-worn Superman, hair won't be perfect. There's some gravitas to the picture. It's nice to get something on the suit from James Gunn. Of course, more importantly, we need this movie to be great. For now, at least we're heading in the proper direction.

I appreciate that. It's tricky navigating the UA-cam landscape when you see what other youtubers are doing. At the end of the day, I'm learning that just being a normal human is far more enjoyable for me to make. I'm glad you dropped by🍿
The thing is, it's not just about the suit. It's about the whole image. As a whole, the image doesn't make a lot of sense. He's casually putting on a boot while Metropolis is being attacked. He looks moody or depressed. (People complained about that with Snyder). For a first reveal, he's not in an interesting, exciting, or revealing pose. And the whole image looks AI generated. (Yes I know Gunn said it's an in camera photo and strangely included the cameraman's name). Run the image through an AI analyzer site. It comes up as AI generated. Look at clarks hands. Look at the background. And this is all without anything about the suit itself, which looks like CW level quality. This is just NOT a good look as the first thing you put out for the movie. You get one chance at a first impression. And they blew it. WHat were they thinking? WBD and Gunn have gone silent after the disastrous reaction to this. Damage control incoming. (The memes have been pretty good though).
It does have an AI feel to it. It didn't bother me though, I'm more interested in the narrative. But I can get why some people have not been as excited. I think we will have a clearer idea of the feel and vibe they are going for once we got some footage. 🤞🏻🍿
It’s not odd like it’s showing he is still a man a Human that no matter the circumstance he puts his shoes on 1 at a time like any man would - this is what i believe the message was. Yes he is Superman however let’s focus on the “man” part of it.
Yea, that's definitely something that James Gunn could be looking to communicate. Superman is a fascinating character in that he's essentially a god with grounded human roots. That story could present in a wide variety of ways. When someone is that powerful, we need a way to relate to him so we'll see if Gunn leans into that. 🍿
🤔 Let us break Superman and this photo backdrop down. 🤔
1. Personal Note: For me MOS is an epic movie and one of my favorite movies. Cavill is an amazing Superman. I am not happy about this change from Cavill to now Cornsweat but I do understand.
2. Gunn did not fire Cavill he was never hired; I blame the Rock and the old WB Regime.
3. From a business prospective, Cavill now will have to be paid 4 times more than Cornsweat.
4. ⭐️ Please watch “All Star Superman.”

I believe the pink sphere in the picture is Solaris. Gunn is inspired by All Star Superman: I believe Solaris was one of the villains in All Star Superman. Solaris has injured Superman and have blocked the yellow sun while fighting Superman; this is wear the damage on suit came from. I see a green light striking Solaris in the picture as well. Superman may be injured and weaken from the first fight. Green Lantern and others are distracting Solaris while Superman recovers. Solaris is overcoming the other heroes and weakened, Clark Kent witnesses they need his help. They need Superman.
⭐️ In this picture, a weakened Superman is putting on his boots for round 2, he beaten and injured but he is preparing suit back up to fight Solaris, who is blocking the sun, all odds are against Clark but he is the beacon of hope; he is Superman. Now in this photo Superman is preparing to give his all to save the other heroes and the world.
⭐️ I recently rewatched All Star Superman. Solaris and Lex plays a big part; and, I believe the other in heroes are replacing the fortress of solitude robots to fight Solaris.
♦️Solaris is a Superman Character.

I want to add, in the comic or animated movie of “All Star Superman,”Superman needs help from his robots to combat Solaris; Lex get power and is working with Solaris:
1. Well in the image James release you see a green light beam striking top of Solaris.
2. Instead of the robot, this is why you need all the other heroes; they replace his robots and are an integral part of the overall story. (Gunn said this)
3. Lex will probably trick the Engineer in finding the fortress. (Remember, there we report during the time of the Crest reveal, the Engineer was in the snow with Superman. She probably found the fortress of solitude and something to give Lex powers; and Lex some way made a deal with Solaris.
4. Gunn is taking inspiration from the New 52, All Star Superman and Superman All Seasons.
5. 🚨 Gunn should had waited and run the photo through post production before releasing to the public. (I think he released the photo without post because the media may get a bad picture.

Snyder’s flicks were almost the only superhero movies I really liked a bunch. There are a few others but I just enjoy other genres of movies. So I don’t EXPECT I’ll see this but obviously could change my mind.
We won't know until it comes out, it's always wonderful going into a film thinking it won't be great and then coming out feeling that it was epic. Let's hope it's that kind of experience🍿
To be fair any action after Cavil was going to find it hard to beat that look the man was superman the script might not have been great but he was superman
You're so right. Henry Cavill had a very strong Superman look and a mean physique. Very believable as the man of Steel. I don't envy Corenswet sliding into those boots 🍿

The thing about Gunn is, his MCU success is based on Kevin Feige vision. Without Feige Gunn is a mediocre director and a visionary this cinematic universe will fail. I how it doesn't buy it will
Gunn doesnt care about u or me, anyone. The man is making his movies regardless. We r unimportant. Proud of Gunn's confidence. If you follow ppl u will never accomplish anything.
If he was mediocre as you claim, the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy would have been mediocre, you make little sense.
I don't know how you arrive at this conclusion when Guardians was Gunn's vision top to bottom, not a creation of Feige's that Gunn simply executed. Couple that with the fact that Feige has tried to elevate other C List Comics to Top Tier status on film, and failed to endear them to mainstream audiences.
