Ready for the sailboat of our dreams. We have sailed aboard our Beneteau Oceanis 393 Clipper for over 3 years, crossing oceans and sailing along the coats of the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean. Today we show you around our sailboat giving you a full Boattour of our Beneteau Oceanis to share all the reasons we love our boat ForTuna. We show you the boat layout, what kind of boat upgrades we made to keep our Oceanis up to date and the small and bigger reasons we opted for this sailboat. After living on ForTuna for 3 years we take you around our Beneteau to show you all the bits and pieces we love and hate.
Hope you enjoy our sailing channel, would love to hear your feedback on our sailing videos and your opinion about sustainable travel.

top door fridge and freezers are much more effecient as well! when a front door style cooler is opened, the cold air flows like water out of the bottom, just as water would, but slower. top door keeps the cold air in like a bucket of water. :) love your boat!!
La vostra casa galleggiante è bella e funzionale, grazie a tutto l’amore è l’impegno che ci avete messo. Un abbraccio 🤗
non vedo l’ora di vedere la vostra nuova casa galleggiante 😍⛵️
Great to see you back and looking forward to more sailing episodes😊
Thanks Richard! more to come soon 🥰
Thanks for this useful video. I saw you two in Marigot, St Martin early this year. I sailed there with my Beneteau 40. I sold her recently. She was a great boat. Now exploring buying a Beneteau in Greece. An Oceanis 393 should be a big bang for the buck! Fair winds!
next time you see us make sure you come over to say hello ☺️ greece is beautiful we loved sailing there but be aware of the Meltemi 🌬
Nice to see you back on the water
thanks ☺️⛵️ glad to be able to share some videos again ☺️
Can’t wait to get my Beneteau 393. Hopefully only another few weeks to go !!!!
congrats john! its an amazing boat! where do you sail her?
Hi. At the moment in the Med around the Costa del Sol, but the plan is to take her on some adventures once we’re all sorted out. Will be an adventure for my son too.
ForTuna is a great 393. I believe they are the perfect cruising boat for a couple. The light and ventilation can't be beat. We had our skylight replaced when we bought our 393 but it began leaking again after 2 years, just before we sold her. Marine silicone works as a temporary fix. Where are you now?
Hi Tony, it totally is perfect for us! enough space and the leaking skywindow is just a small issue but we gave up on it=) would need to take it out, cut it smaller and put more silicone and then some sealant on top...right now we have some 3M tape on top and that worked great for a year but then the rain and waves are just too much sometimes=) we are in guadeloupe now, enjoying some french baguettes=) how about you?

We loved our time in Guadeloupe and Martinique. We are back in Canada now but hope to return to the cruising life again one day.
Our 393 (when we get her) will be for myself, wife, child and dog. Thanks so much for the videos and I can’t wait to get out on the water. The videos you’ve made are so helpful and give great ideas as we have no solar or other independent power source, or water maker (which is fine for now) as we’re in the Med. So we will certainly coming back to your videos again and again for ideas.
Thanks for the tour and to see it through a video.
I'm considering buying a 2005 / 393 which is up for sale so seeing the actual lay out is very useful indeed.
Enjoy 🌞😎🚣
glad you like it 😍⛵️ we are very happy with our Oceanis so we wish you all the best for yours ☺️ let us know if you decided to go for it 💫
no wonder you have a lot of storage for food, you two are always eating..... LoL..... stay safe, Tim and Cat
haha definitively 😂 nothing better in life than a good meal with seaview 😍
Thanks for the tour of your home. How lovely! Would you mind sharing how much headroom you have in the saloon and galley? As a tall guy 6'6" / 198cm, would I be able to stand up straight with room to spare? I love your boat and layout but my list of future possible boats is dwindling as I struggle to find cabins with enough headroom that will keep me from hunching over.
hey, our friend knows the struggle :) J think he is about 195cm an could move around easily with room to spare :) definitely one of the boat with more headroom :)
love the inside🥰🥰
Thank you ;) Very nice and useful video. I'm thinking about this boat. But I'm 200 cm tall. Could you please tell me - is it true that headroom in Oceanis 393 in the main saloon (galley) is equal to 210 cm?
Hello there:) correct, on the highest point inside it’s 205 cm and on the lower side around 197, overall really great hight ✌🏽 let us know if you decide for it🏝
@@WhenSailing Thank you a lot!
I like the 393 best for me. Your boat is beautiful. Love the Pullman berth. Rare to see one with in mast furling it seems. Is the boat easily sailed single handed?
we think it is easily sailed single handed as everything can be accessed in the cockpit ⛵️ when we are on longer passages we are mostly on our shifts alone and it worked well. to have a better understanding maybe watch out first boat tour video

thank you :)
I’d still like to see how you installed that whole mountain of LiFePO4 batteries. You have more than I can get my mind around.
hey :) we actually mare a video about the installation

Hey :) yeah we had some unintentional break from UA-cam 🙈 but we are back slowly, a lot to share with you all from the last sailing season in the caribbean 😍
Hello, nice video and the boat looks really nice.
I'm curious how you both make a living while living on your boat? I mean if you don't mind sharing this. I'm just curious as I've been wanting to sail for many years now but still need to have an income. How do you pay for your food, fuel and expenses? I'm 53 and a semi retired professional chef. I've owned my catering business for 30 years now and want so much to do what you do but I would need to have some income. How do you manage this from your boat?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and answer.
Take care and God bless!
Hi Philip, we are working remotely, soon we will release our working from a sailboat bundle on our website, if you want to have a look we’ve got already a small pdf with remote work possibilities up there and a finance bundle showing the costs involved in buying and living on a boat⛵️ good luck with your dream, you wont need much for it, the most difficult thing is to start it😉
@@WhenSailing thank you so much for your answer. What is your website so I could take a look? I would really be interested in ideas of how to do this. Are you saying you both work for different people and when you finish one job you find another? Am I understanding correctly?
You are both so blessed and I'm just stressed after working crazy hours as a chef for over 30 years. I've been wanting to do this for so long with my wife but I need to get sailing lessons and find a boat. Just nervous of how to find a good, used boat because we can't afford a brand new one and not sure how you go about finding one and not being sold a lemon.
Hello, what brand is the washing machine? Thanks
its a Daewo Mini, you can find more info in our video here ua-cam.com/video/wufcx28dBcc/v-deo.html&lc=UgxlOi-cKoZ87vzeBk94AaABAg
Very cool episode, really interesting to see what life's daily tasks are like. If you could change one thing about your Beneteau, what would it be and why?
well a not leaky skywindow would be amazing 😅 and a bit flatter bow deck like they have one the newer boats, there is literally no flat face on deck, like to sit or lay down… might sound stupid but would be a nice to have ⛵️
@@WhenSailing What about a catamaran? Would you ever consider one? (I'm not in sales, just wondering haha)
hehe no worries brian! no, we would prefer a bigger singlehull over a catamaran, cats are just big floating villas in the end (end very expensive ones) and sailing in rough conditions, against the waves, or close to the wind is just very painful...you always have two hulls that need to be perfectly aligned to the waves and most stretches we could not sail properly with a catamaran without motoring for days...space would be great for sure=)
What year is this boat? It looks like a nice layout and originally I was looking at the 46 or 50ft boats cause the layouts were just better for bluewater cruising and offered nicer rooms. But this seems to have a decent berthing layout.
Hi there, its a 2003, what we've seen from bigger boats is that even the size differs a lot they still offer less overall space if the layout is not used efficiently and a lot of space is lost for dinghy garage, sails locker, or skipper cabin and in the end the lving space is exactly the same as on smaller boats....
After 3 month an 11 minute Video about the layout of your boat which I could easily look up on Google. Where have you been, what did you do during the last month? What are your plans? Very disappointing video!!! I'm not going to watch you anymore. You are fired!!!
thanks rainer, we appreciate your feedback and have been working hard on our boatlife finance boundle and managed to release that on our website! quite some work and was totally worth it! currently we are in guadeloupe, we share live updates on our instagram channel in case you want to see what we do from a day to day basis, salty wishes, Greta & Michael
@@WhenSailing hello, what do you mean? What is a finance boundle on your website?
