Thanks For watching! Enjoy making Art!
Fantastic tutorial, much more advanced than the other traditional portraits, that underpainting process is amazing, thank you for sharing!
I cannot thank you enough. I learned to blend colors and the spit shading technique with your first videos. :)
Good to see your right back at it for 2015, Great work as always Tom!
Was trying to get it done before Christmas haha I'll try and keep up more consistently from now on. All the best!
Excellent as always mate!
Beautiful work
This is great. Thank you.
Great to see more from you man! Killin it as always! :)
very inspiring and helpful mate, cheers
Quality stuff as always man! I never thought of using white gel pens for highlights but it seems to compliment the whole piece overall! Thankyou! :)
Glad you found it helpful, Use what ever you have even tipex haha. I still want to get into doing mixed media style stuff
this is great! ive been thinking of making a video of my own artwork, i use mostly coloured pencils although ive tried painting a few times. im currently apprenticing and getting better, this is inspiring me to put my own work out there and to continue improving!
Anna Felka Great stuff! Get it Done!
Thanks Tom you have been a really big help and not only that you seem like a really good human being. I have one problem when it comes to painting for example a panther I can't seem to know when to use spit shading. Need help thanks and not just panthers traditional animals in general
I'll start making more videos with animals, I'm sick of not producing anything anymore. I would recommend collecting images of paintings/tattoos/drawings/real images anything you like so you can use them as reference and incorporate it into your own work. look at other people's work see how they have approached it. I'm not talking about copying, but you need to look at how other people do things to gain a better understanding yourself. hope that helps
I'm quite new to your channel and was wondering if you use the India ink to outline or something else.
HI @Tom Smith great video n art again!!! i checked your art supplies on amazon but theres not any info about what kind or what type of brushes that you like to use for watercolors thanks again bro!!!
+StigmaGto Hz astore.amazon.co.uk/ecinthfo-21/276-0376307-4927458?_encoding=UTF8&node=57 Check that link! they are the ones i normally use. But they are just regular watercolour brushes as far as i know
The only thing I don't like is the line shadow that's in the front corner of the eye connects to her cheek bone shadow, and those are two different shadows. But great job! Haha
Great vid man! Could you give some tips for photorealistic painting? Thanks
emiliyo2010 Tbh I don't really have much experience doing it, but if i get into it this year ill make a video!
Hi Tom, I use a set of Winston & Newton water colors, but when I liquefy them with water they obviously lose the consistent intensity you would find in the liquids you have. Do you think trying this style of watercolors is doable with my solid to wet watercolors, or should I purchase it as liquid already bottled?
ones the dried can other coulour be aplie on it wih out the ink be destroied? other acrylic colour but not ink ex
what the equivalent with Dr.Ph.Martin's Saddle Brown 13a in ecoline watercolour? in my country we dont have dr ph martin :/
What did you use to line the face initially? Was it a pen or did you paint it? Please tell me the specific because I find it hard to find a pen that doesn't bleed with water
+jodiorodeo Sharpie pen for bold lines, just make sure the pen you are using is permanent ink. Which country you in i can try find a link to some if you would like?
what paper is used in this
that ink is waterproof, right?
Angela White The Black indian ink was, The Dr.Ph.Martins isn't but dry pretty permanent if you get me
