Nordics continues the trend of the Ys series having bangtastic early field themes, if this actually is one. My heart soared the moment I heard the intro. It's almost like a mixture Mother Earth Altago from Ys VII and Sunshine Coastline from VIII.
The Legend of Heroes series has amazing OSTs as well. Particularly the trails of cold steel saga. YS got me into Falcom games and I’m super excited for this one.
@@ironman-fg3jh nah the writing and character development is better in these games. Also, the character designs have more soul to it, and I prefer the quartz system in those games, but that's a bit more personal

Maybe her backstory is sad but the characters and their dialogue is obnoxious AF. Cold steel characters may be more tropey and have less depth because there are so many of them, but it also means I don't have to put up with the annoying characters as much. Also cold steel 3 onwards the graphics are much better because I don't like chibi characters its very ugly

I'm debating whether or not I should listen to this. On one hand, I really want to hear it since I know its good, but on the other I want to experience all the music for the first time while playing the game.
I wonder does anyone know if 10's music is being done by the same team that did 7, 8 and 9? I know the Falcom sound team sometimes changes members a lot, and band members come and go. Imo though honestly, nothing still beats the original Sound team JDK/ JDK Band of the 90's that did the Ys music from 1-4. Tomohiko Kishimoto who headed the JDK Band 1-4 albums as well as Ryo Yonemitsu who led the Perfect collections. Legendary stuff
7, 8 and 9 each all kinda had slightly different teams. 10 is (very likely) the closest to 9, where about half the music is from Sound Team jdk (mostly Sonoda but maybe some Koguchi and Unisuga songs), and the other half is from outsourcing (Jindo and Singa)
@@seymourflux747 8 and 9 actually had the same composers involved, just in different proportions. 8 was mostly Sonoda and Unisuga with a bit of Jindo and SInga, while 9 has a lot more Singa and much less Unisuga (and it definitely shows). Now Unisuga is gone and Koguchi (most likely the composer of this particular track) replaced him, but aside from that I expect the overall proportion of tracks to be similar to Ys 9's as you say. We may even get an Unisuga leftover or two, who knows. 7 on the other hand was pretty different as it had the PSP era music team, with Momiyama and Osaki doing a significant portion of the soundtrack.

The PC port of 8 was done by the same studio as 9. (PH3, not Falcom)
