A few times now thanks to sketchy uploads on YT but it was a shocker. Nice to have you back Ben - can't wait to see what you bring to the channel. You've come so far and seem like a different person from episode one! Thanks.
I got chased from Bradford back into North Yorkshire when I was younger, I had just filled up in Bradford, I didn't realise it was the police following me @ 150mph until I got to Boroughbridge and overtook a truck and pulled infant off it and seen a West Yorkshire police car came along side me, I floored it again came off at Dishforth and about 6 North Yorkshire coppers were lined up ready to pounce and helicopter above me, I got boxed in a bit further down the road. Anyway that was in 2005 I've learnt my lesson.
I used to watch police interceptors as a young lad, and I'm currently a probationer intending to join Traffic in the future because of being inspired by officers like you. So thank you Ben!
@@jamesmason8905 I have only ever had negative experiences with the police in my area, due to them being threatening, intimidating, disrespectful and corrupt even. I have had Surrey police attempt to solicit a bribe from me over a cannabis grinder. When I was 17 they stopped me one night down a country road and threatened to take me down the station over the grinder, unless I pay an on the spot fine of £40 (the exact amount I had in my wallet), but I refused. They took my phone, wallet and ID, before one of them kneed me in the bollocks hard, knocking me to the floor, and then put his boot on my head, before threatening to come to my house off duty as he knew my address. They made me stand up again and gave me back my belongings, before the bigger cop kneed me in the bollocks again a second time and then they both drove off, leaving me on the floor. This is a great video Ben, you’re a good story teller! Can we have a video off the back of the speed bump and the car and what really happens to police cars when they get hammered like that? How do they handle speed bumps and crappy roads without being written off every day 😆
Thank you Ben. Cracking video, as ever. Thank you. To the producers, please stop with the music. It doesn't add anything, it's a distraction from the story of real world events.
An in-law of mine is a Police Officer in our local British Police Service. Just before he transferred into Traffic he was sent to a motor vehicle incident, where a 16 year old, who was well known to the Police, had stolen the car of an elderly couple. This lad had a list of offences as long as your arm, going back to when he was first old enough to be charged at aged 10 (the age of criminal responsibility). The TWOC (Taken Without Owners Consent) was reported within minutes of it occurring. After the theft was reported over the airwaves, an Officer reported back that the car was in front of him. He turned on his blues, but not the sirens. The lad immediately put his foot on the accelerator, but couldn’t get very far because he was on a dual carriageway which was filtering down to a single lane. He shot through red lights and hit another car, which had right of way, sending that car spinning. Luckily, apart from a few bruises, the driver and passenger in that car were okay. However, the thief was not wearing a seatbelt and, because of the speed he was going, when he hit the other vehicle, his chest was crushed by the steering wheel and he was (medically) decapitated when he was thrown back into the seat. It was unbelievable when people were posting comments in local media about what an angel he was and how he was too good to go. His mother (no sign of a father, surprise, surprise) tried to blame the Police, but there were so many cameras recording and the other car that was hit had dashcam and caught it, so all that was laid to rest. The next thing, they tried to Crowdfund to pay for his funeral. Don’t think they raised much though.
I was 10 years old. I had a Gokart that could do 20km/h flat out. I used to drive it along the road from my home to a paddock my family owned. The distance from home to paddock was about 100 metres. I'm scooting along with my oversized motorcycle helmet low over my eyes and this Traffic cop pulls alongside and toots his horn at me. I cut the throttle, waited until he overshot me, then gunned it and turned into the gateway of the paddock and kept going. Cop was out of his car watching me racing around the paddock for a good ten minutes before he gave up. Basil Robbins was his name. He later took me for my drivers licence test. He never mentioned my past criminal acts. 1960's New Zealand. Good times ! I later became a Traffic cop myself but Basil had retired by then. I could tell you some stories......
You guys need to add this kinda background music more often!! I don’t really know how to word it, but it adds another level of depth into your story! As apose to just speaking to the camera.
When i was 12, I was being chased out of the local park by a group of lads. They set this big dog on me, never ran so fast in my life 😂 It ended well, one of my neighbours was out driving and they could see me running and obviously knew there was a problem because of the speed and they saw the dog, realised my fears about dogs and then spun the car onto the pavement behind me to block the dog and the group of lads and just had a massive go at them. Moved away a few months later but yeah that's what I was doing aged 12, not stealing cars 😂😂
Find your videos helpful , I feel less and less like a human the longer I can’t deal with my ptsd I can’t function thank you for uploading even though your on your own journey 🤟💖
I loved this style of recording Ben, it’s so dramatic with the suspenseful music in the background, it’s great to see you back recording. Keep them coming 👍🏼❤️
Excellent detailed description of events Ben. I love all your descriptions and commentary. One thing I would add, professionally, though is that if before or during the active pursuit you or your colleagues had realised the driver was a minor of 12 years then you would have been forced to call it and abandon the pursuit due to the massively increased risks! The Duty Inspector in Control would not have authorised the continued pursuit. If it had resulted in a fatality then the Officers, including the Duty Inspector, would be called to account for their decisions and actions in Coroner’s Court. Ultimately that could result in Manslaughter charges. This is something that is currently happening in Greater Manchester following an early morning pursuit of a 16 year old, which unfortunately resulted in his death. I don’t think it can ever be justified to knowingly pursue minors due to their age, obvious lack of experience and increased risk to other innocent road users. The best and only available practice is to get the helicopter overhead and completely lock down the area. Yes use stingers, but a 12 year old will not think rationally and will continue to panic even without blue lights in the mirrors. They need the space to calm and bail without pressure … until they realise the helicopter is watching from above. Hopefully it’s too late for them then! Unfortunately I don’t think a piece of metal, however expensive, is worth anyone’s life. Unfortunately the lad will definitely come again, as they never learn and rarely change their behaviour. Excellent video though 👍.
@@mgproryh I’m sorry, I didn’t realise you couldn’t read. I didn’t say they did know! I’m saying, from the same professional experience as Ben, that if or when they had known it was a CHILD then the pursuit would have been TERMINATED by the Duty Control Inspector who is ultimately responsible for authorising ALL pursuits! I agree that in this instance the pursuit was well handled and there was a good outcome, but it could have ended very differently with a 12 year old CHILD driving a stolen at those speeds with Ben close on his heels. I’m not saying, in any way, that Ben was unprofessional as these are always split second decisions and we cannot allow people to steal vehicles or property … but this could have ended very differently and every Officer involved would be called to account for their decisions and actions. Every serving Officer has a duty of care, especially towards children and when you discover a child is driving then you should abort pursuit and use other means to intercept and detain. I’m not saying let him get away with it, but you don’t push a child into a collision. As I said before, a £10,000.00 ,or there about, car is not worth anyones life including Ben’s … YOU PLUM. Maybe you could volunteer yours, don’t think you’d be missed!

Has there ever been a situation where you've been glad that member of the public has been there?
Fantastic Story told. Looking in from Ireland 🇮🇪
Love a good story told by yourself Ben! Very interesting!
Great video as ever can’t be,Keven he was only 12 😣
You guys need to add this kinda background music more often!! I don’t really know how to word it, but it adds another level of depth into your story! As apose to just speaking to the camera.
Mate I thought I was the only one but frosties with warm milk , mint :-) :-)
When i was 12, I was being chased out of the local park by a group of lads. They set this big dog on me, never ran so fast in my life 😂
It ended well, one of my neighbours was out driving and they could see me running and obviously knew there was a problem because of the speed and they saw the dog, realised my fears about dogs and then spun the car onto the pavement behind me to block the dog and the group of lads and just had a massive go at them.
Moved away a few months later but yeah that's what I was doing aged 12, not stealing cars 😂😂
At that age kids have N.A.F.O.D. No Apparent Fear of Death.
Can you guys put a poll for next video subject? Love these videos.
That’s madness! I have a 13 year old and she wouldn’t know how to driving a car let alone at those speeds etc
Great story as usual but it has to be said, the background music is so distracting!
Find your videos helpful , I feel less and less like a human the longer I can’t deal with my ptsd I can’t function thank you for uploading even though your on your own journey 🤟💖
Glad to hear the Rona didn't get you.
How realistic is the TV drama series “The Bill”? Can you review please 🙏🏻
Blooming heck police interceptors retire young. At 12 I was playing in the park on the swings
And he’s back 😃🎉😃🎉
Glad ur back and better m8👌😁
They didn't know it was a kid till they'd stopped the car you plum
Was looking for this for ages lol
Glad you’re back Ben, which police interceptors episode was this does anybody know?
