what a nice treat of a video to wake up to see! I had some minor surgery yesterday and I'm feeling a little sorry for myself so I will make sure to make myself comfortable and enjoy this video 😊 I always love watching your collection with all the fun merch and limited editions you often get your mitts on.
This was such a relaxing watch, really helped take my mind off things for a while. If you're into dungeon crawlers, I think you might enjoy the Etrian Odyssey series. Everything, from the artstyle and music to the gameplay, classes and skill trees, really clicked with me.
Thanks for the tip for Arietta, the pixel art graphics looks very much endearing like Stardew Valley and the story looks like to be an interesting one. I will definitely pick it to play it on my SteamDeck later.
You are so lovely, your channel is so enjoyable, and I'm more action/arcade oriented in the games I like, I don't even care if you mostly review stuff I'm not even interested in, I just adore the wholesomeness and the overall nature of your content :)
I don't know if someone else said it before but Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is really europe french, not canadian french, at least the audio series was from France.
Hi, thanks for the correction. I went back to my notes and they mention just "French-language online audio series" - so where the Canadian bit came from I'm not sure now! Maybe it was very popular with French Canadians?
I've been watching a lot of videos and I think there are games that I can recommend that will certainly fit your taste. Inscryption. Practically one of the best games I've played in a long time. It's a thiller card game that has a magnificent story telling. I think a console version would be release this september 2022 but if you really want to try it, it is available on steam and you wont have any problems with the required hardware to run on since it can run on almost anything. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I just recently picked this up and it was one "hell" of a ride. It's an adventure hack and slash game where you follow a woman on her quest to help her lover. The story telling is also phenomenal in this game which is incredibly rare these days. And I want to throw in a classic. Suikoden 2. This was hailed as the best JRPG ever existed and I really do believe that. It's a timeless classic. I can't count how many times I played this game and everytime I play this, it always feels like its my first time playing it. It is so strange and I love it. I hope you see this and consider it! I love your content and i'll be waiting for more!
Thanks, Jerome. Yea, I did download the Inscryption demo on my laptop - but there was some annoying 3rd party EULA, whatever, and I just couldn't be bothered to set up yet another account. So I'm waiting for the console version 😃 and hoping that won't be so restrictive. I watched Markiplier playing a session only the other day. I do have Hellblade, so that will be played and covered one of these days. Suikoden is a favourite series of mine, with Suikoden II the shining pearl.
@@Food4Dogs OMG I didnt expect you'd be replying! Sorry for my bad english. Im from the Philippines. I hope you get to play Inscryption soon. I really know you will love it. I finished it twice in 4 days just because its just that good. Thanks for replying, btw! :)
Great getting an update on what you've picked up recently. You've given me some good ideas of things to get for PS4. I'm curious what you'll think of Persona 5 Strikers. I was able to get it on launch here in the US and loved seeing the cast back together, and I'm a big hack n' slash fan so it was right up my alley. I'm also currently playing Fatal Frame in between SMT V sessions. I'm not very far in (to Fatal Frame), but enjoying what I'm seeing. Thanks for your work!
@@Food4Dogs maybe Story Mode is an option for you :) i played it on normal difficulty like most of the time. But some enemies are quiet difficult. Hope you keep enjoying it!
Undernauts seems like a fully horrored out Dungeons and Dragons game. I didn't know about the the "Replies" not notifying in your Pinned comment. Glad to know that. Thank you. All of the games aside from Undernauts look like really cool games that I would be interested to play if I had a little more to spend on games. Not a fan of horror. I already spend a bit much, in my opinion. Haha. Kena looks beautiful as a game, also!
Hello Britta! Another lovely video. I got a bit interested at some of these games, Kena and Undernauts seem particularly appealing to me. I only have a PC at the moment but I'm considering investing in a console this year, maybe Nintendo Switch. Keep up the good work!
I really appreciated this video! So many titles I wasn't aware of! I'm just not sure about Kena. As I only have the original PS4, I don't know if it'll be able to handle it.
I just checked it briefly on my old PS4 and know what? I noticed no problems, didn't really feel much different from the Pro! 😀 I posted a screenshot on Twitter here : twitter.com/Food4Dogs/status/1485435532247465984?s=20 The one thing I always notice is that the TV makes a heck of a difference. I have that old PS4 paired up with our best TV in the lounge, and it just looks superb, almost any game looks fantastic on it (and it's not 4K or anything; it's an older TV but simply highest quality). I think I might play Kena from now on in the lounge 😎. Note: I was unable to test any scene with lots of action (like many enemies etc.). But the platforming felt fine, no different from the Pro.
@@Food4Dogs ohhh that's great news!!! Thank you so much! Yes, I have to agree that a great tv does make a lot of difference! I'll definitely get a copy! It looks to be a lot of fun!
Dungeon of Naheulbeuk looks interesting and it's on switch so the gameplay looks like it would suit handheld mode nicely. Bit pricey on the UK eshop, one for a sale I think I made a bit of an error purchasing king's bounty on switch thinking it would again work well in handheld, but it needs a fair few patches which are apparently coming so I remain hopeful. Another great unboxing video and I eagerly await the next :)
I actually managed to pick up a reasonably priced physical Switch copy of Naheulbeuk too! Sometimes, weirdly enough, it's less expensive getting a physical than some of the prices on the eShop. Sales there are really essential.
@@Food4Dogs Yep, the UK eshop has actually just had a really good Christmas and NY sale so I spent waaaay too much in that. Pretty much all the games on my wishlist had heavy discounts. Mostly physical games are cheaper, but for games under £5 or with heavy discounts I much prefer the convenience of digital.
@@alegl5141 I hesitate to say much at this stage, as I'm not far in yet. It came hugely recommended to me (and review scores are sky high) - so it's possible that I'm suffering from a bit of "expectation overkill". It just hasn't gripped me (so far) the way I thought it would. You know that thing where *on paper* you tick all the boxes - but then it just doesn't gel? I'd say the puzzles are pretty much what you'd expect, so if that's a highlight for you in p&c games, I think you'd be satisfied. My disconnect is with the writing and the story. I probably need to give it a bit more of a chance. I'll be sure to mention it, one way or the other, in the Weekly Chat.
I like Alan Wake and the extended universe of Control and Quantum Break, but I was kinda annoyed that the second Control DLC was basically an ad for Alan Wake 2, had a fun boss fight though. How do you feel about DLC being used as advertisement for something else? I‘m usually okay with a crossover character in a fighting game and regret buying DLC that end on cliffhangers. Aritta looks interesting, I’ve been looking for a game where you can use water powers. Know any other?
I rarely buy DLC, so I haven't really run into many issues with it, and certainly never disguised advertising for another game! I would take a very dim view of that! 😐
2022 looks like a good start. Edit: Eggsecute is my bane Edit2: it's not just the review, it's the fact it's you that they probably sent it. While there are DEFINITELY statistically going to be older gamers. One that does videos like yours are very rare (haven't seen any in my case) it's good for marketing and most likely a fan/someone from administration is a fan and did it.
Hot. Wow. It's -4° here in Northern Virginia. I hate cold weather. So ready to move back to Florida or back to San Diego. Love your new pick-ups. I for the first time connected and set up my Xbox-Series-X today. I've had it for a little while but have been recovering from COVID. Any-hoo, great video as always. 🤓
@@Food4Dogs Thank you. The first couple of night's, it was simply horrible but I'm pretty much over it not. I did absolutely everything possible to not get it. Even after visiting Manhattan and attending 2 New Year's parties, I was COVID free because I was a very safe and protective person. Just so happens I contracted it during my visit to the Emergency Room. Fitting I guess. The ER is an infestation of COVID. But I'm doing great now. Just mild congestion that should be gone by the weekend. As for my Xbox, with Game Pass, I'm like a kid in a candy store. Now I really have too many games to play. I have every game at my disposable between my Switch, PS4 Pro and Xbox-Series-X. Funny thing is I still play my Dreamcast and Vita more.
@@ManiacMonkboon Oh, you're confirming my worst fears of hospitals and ERs! 😱 Yes, I feel the same, the Xbox + GamePass combo is great. I have the same array of current consoles as you and feel well provided. I don't have a Dreamcast, but ofc the Vita is my all-time favourite. 🤗
@@ManiacMonkboon Oh no, please don't worry. I have longtime experience with this that colours my views, my parents both having gone into hospital and never making it out. My doctor shares my view that the best way to get a disease is to spend time in a hospital!
God Neo Twewy was incredible. The perfect sequel. Shame it sold so bad. By the way id love to see your thoughts on xenoblade 3. Ive already played 100 hours of it and its my all time favorite piece of media. Previously that was the first xenoblade followed by 2. Honestly im just obsessed and addicted to xenoblade. By far the most important and influential story in my life.
Oh, did it sell poorly? That is really too bad. Unfortunately that happens quite often when fans lobby for a sequel, and then only the hardcore fans buy it. 😑 As to Xeno3 - sure, I can't imagine not talking about it! But considering my current eye situation, progress is gonna be slow.
@@Food4Dogs yeah neo was a victim of little to no marketing. XB3 on the other hand is selling far better than any prior xenogame. Im really excited to see what the next games will look like since this will inevitably mean a larger budget. It also means theres a very real chance for a Xenoblade X definitive edition since takehashi stated in the past that budget limitations were the main thing keeping them from bringing it to switch. The game was just too big to afford remastering on top of having several things they still want to add to it if they ever port it since they basically ran out of resources to keep going with developing everything they originally planned in the wiiu release.
I bought Samurai Warriors 5 today. The art was wavy as well, and the damn game case had tape on theside like it was already opened and gamestop just sealed it with tape. I'm effin mad.
Neo twewy is so absolutely fun I hope you have time to dig on and enjoy it ! I played it so much when it launched , original twewy was my favorite game as an angsty teenager
Great video! I love watching your pick-ups; they're very relaxing and I often learn about games that I wouldn't have otherwise, like that Experience Inc game (Which looks intriguing! I like the combination of the Death Mark art and battle styles with an actual class system and whatnot). I'm also very curious to hear your thoughts on Fatal Frame when you get to it. I played the first game last year for Halloween and fell in love with it. The first 3 are all available on the PS3 store, at least in the USA. Not sure about other regions.
Ahh yes, that's the problem with Fatal Frame - those first 3 games are not available on PS3 in my region. However, I can of course use my US account, so that's actually a good idea! Good ol' PS3. 👍
I really enjoy your videos! Kena is so up my alley so I really hope they make it available for the switch since that's the only console I have lol. But will consider getting a refurbished PS system just for Kena haha. Fatal frame is one I'm wanting to pick up when it comes around to spooky season!
I had been wondering whether to speculate about Kena coming to Switch in this video .. but it's really hard to say, mainly bc I think it would push the hardware to its limits. The Switch has had some amazing ports (Witcher, Dragon's Dogma etc) but those were all older games. Kena would be an extremely demanding port for any company to undertake. That's all assuming that Sony releases the game from exclusivity in the future! If you can manage it, maybe a secondhand PS4 would be an idea.
@@Food4Dogs I'm currently playing Witcher 3 and I love it! Once I saw the game play and how almost movie like it was I had a feeling the switch miiight not be able to handle it. Which is a bummer as a switch owner since I do miss out on some really cool games lol. I am leaning more towards a secondhand ps4 so I gotta start making a list of ps4 games to look out for :)
Congratulations on the Nahobino. Are you looking forward to Pokemon: Arceus? I loved NEO: The World Ends With You. I hope you enjoy it. I agree with you about the gameplay in the original, it was okay, but the sequel was better. And the sequel starts out slow storywise, but I thought it really picked up, and I enjoyed it in the end. I also loved P5: Strikers. But I love both Persona 5, and Hyrule Warriors and most other Warriors/Musou style games, so it was right up my alley.
Hi Nick, yes, I have Arceus on pre-order, and if my delivery is prompt, I thought I might record a bit of gameplay and just do a quick video of First Impression. Nice to hear your feedback on NEO! I think you're right: I love P5 and I love musou combat - so it's really a no-brainer! 😄
There are 2 ways: If you want to share it publicly (that's ofc entirely up to you), then I appreciate seeing it on Twitter (I'm not on any other social media). You may also email me the fan art at my UA-cam address (details on About page) - however I can't promise a reply. Hope that helps.
I think my Vita is the perfect size for a handheld. I may pick up an OLED Vita if I come across one. I'm looking for a Hori case and a 64gb memory card that doesn't cost a fortune.
Good luck, I know how difficult it can be with Vita mem cards. It may be worth looking at pre-owned ones, especially if you have a local/regional trading site.
At least once a year I go back to playing a bit of vita games...still disappointed how it was handled back then. The switch has taken most of my gaming time lol
Hi, Happy 2022. I’ve had P5S for a while but not managed to play much, as I’ve been playing Genshin Impact. I don’t have much time to game sadly but it’s definitely the next one on my list, as I know once I get started I won’t be able to put that one down! What did you think of Strikers?
Ha, I've been so busy with my backlog of video material (editing editing ...), I haven't found the time yet to dive into Strikers. But am so much looking forward to it!
Gave up my 100 hours in Persona 5 to play Royal instead :( as people said it's a way better experience. Obviously I enjoy the game enough to make such a sacrifice, so I'm eager to quickly get through to reach where I left off and continue the interesting story. That being said even at a much quicker pace I can still see the improvements made in Royal. Once I'm done its off to play strikers which is free with ps plus for this month.
That's amazing - but I know what you mean about Royal, and I think I might've done the same in your position. It's great when a game is that good that you don't mind doing that.
I don't get the hahaha. It's very simple: my channel viewers will see my thoughts and impressions once I'm ready to make the video. But first I need to do the unboxing, of course.
I really loved this video and just how much details you went into everything! I have two games on my radar now which I may just get instead of Elden Ring in February (because it will almost certainly be too difficult for me). The Dungeons of i-can't-spell-that-word Chicken Edition and King's Bounty 2. The first I had never heard of before, the second I was aware of a while ago but then I forgot about it. Just wondering if you will be doing an update on your adventures with the Xbox Series X? Two exciting new games just arrived on Game Pass - Nobody Saves The World and Death's Door! I have also been uploading pick ups videos recently, not nearly as good as yours but please take a look if you are interested at all (no pressure)
Hi RMGB, yes I am definitely doing updates on Xbox GamePass games. My problem is that I had such an enormous backlog of stuff that was half video-processed, and I really really needed to make a dent into that! Also, please watch out for an announcement, hopefully in the next 4 weeks, for a new Xbox-related project which will bring more GamePass discussion. 😎
I have family that live in Quebec and I can attest that French Canadians are weird. Have never heard of the game though, I will check it out. Always nice to find a "hidden gem".

I've noticed that you like games that have rich stories, so I do have a few game recommendations:

I absolutely love the SMT V protagonist plush. Just started playing it and am enjoying the heck out of it. And I just adore his design.
I absolutely adore your videos! It’s so refreshing to hear such thoughtful insights on games!
what a nice treat of a video to wake up to see!
Yes, I have written often about the Etrian Odyssey series (one of my favourites) here in the past.
The nahobeano
Thanks for the tip for Arietta, the pixel art graphics looks very much endearing like Stardew Valley and the story looks like to be an interesting one. I will definitely pick it to play it on my SteamDeck later.
I want to be like you when I grow up. I love how a cute granny with a British accent is a gamer. 😍
I love your long videos. They have a lot of detail and are very relaxing to watch.
That's nice to hear. I'm happy it's not putting people off. 😀
I'm so glad i found your channel 🥰
Wow I think you may by the only other person I know who’s played Undernauts lol It’s a very interesting game!
Yes! 👍
I know what I'll be listening to at the gym! 🤣
I learned a lot from this video 👍 keep up the great work ❤️
Thanks, Irene - hope you're keeping well. 💖
That game is real good, thank you for introduce it grandma!
The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk cought my interest. I enjoyed your viedo. Thank you for your efford
The ✨nahobeano✨
Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy watching them, they are always so wholesome! The Nahobino plushie is so cool.
I love the reviews! And the new table cloth. Thanks for being you.
Omg I love the Naho plush in the background so cute!
You are so lovely, your channel is so enjoyable, and I'm more action/arcade oriented in the games I like, I don't even care if you mostly review stuff I'm not even interested in, I just adore the wholesomeness and the overall nature of your content :)
Thank you.
Love the art style of Undernauts and I might purchase Dungeon of Naheulbuelk looks interesting 😊 Thanks for the videos stay safe🥰
Undernauts Labyrinth of Yomi looks great, I didn't knew about it. Thanks!! :)
@@Food4Dogs it is indeed!
@@newbiepro09 your English is very good, Jerome - stop apologising! 😄😎
Welcome to F4D.
Amazing pickups , awesome inspiration to us smaller creators 👍👍
Same here, barely surviving the heat.
I love the Nahobino plushie, that's so good.
And that switch-case is AESTHETIC :eyes:
Great pickups! I wanted to try Alan Wake Remastered too. The original game was so good!
Damn, I'm so jealous of the Nahobeano Plush! I'm sure it has a good home now though
Great video as always. I really want to try Undernauts.
Perfect timing :D i just started Keena. It really is soo beautiful! But the nice look is deceiving as well ;) battles can be really hard!
Uh oh! I better start shaping up then! 😃
@@Food4Dogs maybe Story Mode is an option for you :) i played it on normal difficulty like most of the time. But some enemies are quiet difficult.
Hope you keep enjoying it!
Happy new year! I love video game character plushies so much I fell in love with Piplup and that little Nahobino 😭💖💖💖💖
Ome hour ^^ that is a great suprise for the weekend! Oh, and Happy New Year!
Watching your videos makes me want to buy a Vita. Love your videos!
I think I'm .. cough ... responsible for quite a few people having bought Vitas.😁
@@Food4Dogs I’m not surprised 😅
Hello Britta! Another lovely video. I got a bit interested at some of these games, Kena and Undernauts seem particularly appealing to me. I only have a PC at the moment but I'm considering investing in a console this year, maybe Nintendo Switch. Keep up the good work!
I think you'd love the OLED Switch - good luck!
need to check some of these games out! these all look really good. :)
I don't know why, but I just kept staring at the piplup plushie lmao, he's indeed very cute
I really appreciated this video! So many titles I wasn't aware of! I'm just not sure about Kena. As I only have the original PS4, I don't know if it'll be able to handle it.
I can check it, if you like? I still have my OG PS4. I'll just pop the disc in and give it a 10 mins test run.
@@Food4Dogs that'd be very kind! If it's not too much trouble, I would like it very much! I hope I'm not imposing on you.
I just checked it briefly on my old PS4 and know what? I noticed no problems, didn't really feel much different from the Pro! 😀
I posted a screenshot on Twitter here : twitter.com/Food4Dogs/status/1485435532247465984?s=20
The one thing I always notice is that the TV makes a heck of a difference.
Bit pricey on the UK eshop, one for a sale I think
I made a bit of an error purchasing king's bounty on switch thinking it would again work well in handheld, but it needs a fair few patches which are apparently coming so I remain hopeful.
@@alegl5141 Yes, I too get most of my Switch games digitally. I bought Unavowed in the sale.
@@Food4Dogs Just checked out Unavowed, also looks like my sort of thing -Very 90s point and click/graphic adventure style :) Do you rate it highly?
Thank you for sharing. 👍
That Nahobino plush is awesome
Edit: Eggsecute is my bane
Edit2: it's not just the review, it's the fact it's you that they probably sent it. While there are DEFINITELY statistically going to be older gamers. One that does videos like yours are very rare (haven't seen any in my case) it's good for marketing and most likely a fan/someone from administration is a fan and did it.
Atlus is amazing. Sending you the Nahobino after seeing your unboxing. Love the company
A lot of titles to try, thank you so much!
Hot.
Oh, sorry to hear you had Covid.
Let me know how you enjoy your new Xbox. 😃
Yes, I feel the same, the Xbox + GamePass combo is great. I have the same array of current consoles as you and feel well provided.
I don't have a Dreamcast, but ofc the Vita is my all-time favourite. 🤗
@@Food4Dogs I'm sorry. I didn't mean to confirm your worst fears. 😞
As to Xeno3 - sure, I can't imagine not talking about it!
@@eseph_agen that's a good point about the budget. If Xeno3 doing so well could propel the chances of an X port, that would be incredible. 💥
I bought Samurai Warriors 5 today. The art was wavy as well, and the damn game case had tape on theside like it was already opened and gamestop just sealed it with tape. I'm effin mad.
See? Some corporations DO have a soul! Absolutely no string attached I love it!
Another fab video x
Neo twewy is so absolutely fun I hope you have time to dig on and enjoy it ! I played it so much when it launched , original twewy was my favorite game as an angsty teenager
Oh gosh - I've heard that *so much* - how TWEWY was such an important game for "angsty teenagers". It really struck a chord, that game.
I loved Alan Wake on the Xbox 360 and i can't wait to get the Remastered version at some point
Your always making suck great videos! Keep them coming!
Have you played Pokemon Legends Arceus? It's been a fantastic departure from the main series.
Yes, I have started it.
I chart a lot of what I play on my Twitter, where day-to-day quick coverage is easy.
Love the videos, Brita!
Hi Nick,
yes, I have Arceus on pre-order, and if my delivery is prompt, I thought I might record a bit of gameplay and just do a quick video of First Impression.
Nice to hear your feedback on NEO!
I think you're right: I love P5 and I love musou combat - so it's really a no-brainer! 😄
If Atlus and SEGA knew who I was, let alone sending me cool memorabilia, I'd probably lose my mind.
Haha, no, I don't lose my mind easily, not after 7 decades.
Hey! Is there a way I can share my food for dogs fan art with you? You’re the best ♥️
There are 2 ways:
If you want to share it publicly (that's ofc entirely up to you), then I appreciate seeing it on Twitter (I'm not on any other social media).
You may also email me the fan art at my UA-cam address (details on About page) - however I can't promise a reply.
Hope that helps.
stress relief video :)
I'm glad. 😀
I got the same piplup!! So cute.
Hi Piplup!
You're such a joy.
For Naheulbeuk, your second attempt at pronunciation was right on the money!
Thanks!
At least once a year I go back to playing a bit of vita games...still disappointed how it was handled back then. The switch has taken most of my gaming time lol
We just love handheld, don't we? I spend a lot of my time now on my Switch in handheld mode.
Absolutely lost my shit at $120 for P5S. That is some dedication!
Ha, that's NZ retail pricing for you! That converts to 80 USD.
I would love to see your reaction to Elden Ring hahaha
I don't get the hahaha.
It's very simple: my channel viewers will see my thoughts and impressions once I'm ready to make the video.
But first I need to do the unboxing, of course.
@@Food4Dogs sorry I didn't mean to sound rude, I love your channel and what you do :)
@@XelaShade That's OK, thanks for responding. It's sometimes difficult to work out whether a comment is meant as an insult or a joke. 😀
have you played the final fantasy vii remake?
Kena looks amazing I might get it for my ps5
Oh, it'll be beautiful on PS5!
OMG i have the same piplup plush
I want the Nahobino.
Let me know when you manage to get hold of one.
I have family that live in Quebec and I can attest that French Canadians are weird. Have never heard of the game though, I will check it out. Always nice to find a "hidden gem".
I like "weird" 😀
