The skits on this album are from an absolute banger of a movie- made in Britain, starring Tim Roth in his first movie when he was like 16. That’s definitely worth a watch too.
Skinnyman is a legend, proper. Can do it all and has done for decades. Live shows, music, freestyles, MC battles, he can do it all, he even has a mythical battle against Eminem at a show in Ladbroke grove. You can still bump in to him on the streets in the same ends as I have done many a time and is always a top geezer.
Yep the whole album is fire, I recommended the album way back in a comment on your reaction to The Streets album. You would be blessed finding a vinyl copy of this album though. 🔥🖤🔥
Now we are talking! The GOAT! You HAVE to do a play along to his album, maybe THE greatest hip hop album ever, let alone UK hip hop. When Eminem had first came to the UK, he did a lacklustre performance at an afterparty, the crowd started booing and calling for Skinnyman. They had a freestyle battle and Skinny bodied him. "I'm so old skool I remember when M&Ms were called treats, but they're just sweets, and pussies like you get buried on english streets..... Eminem? *spits* Fleminem, a battyman like dre and them, and on this mic I'm slaying them...."
@@danielclift3068 i do not. obv we are talking just before the slim shady LP was released. there is a video but it isnt online. Also... his band mate Chester P bodied Common when he came to the UK
There's a great interview with him and his DJ about how they met when Skinnyman broke into his house and then found loads of graffiti on the walls and was chilling looking at that when he came home and was like "what are you doing here?" Then they started chilling together!
Yooo! My friend Greg Hall made this video... It features scenes from his first low budget feature film "The Plague". The scenes of Skinnyman and DJ flip are from it too. Greg also did Jehst's "Nuke proof Suit" and "mengi bus" videos. He also made a documentary with Chester P about the homeless and public housing. You should check out the whole album, a modern masterpiece!
The thing with UK hip hop is… we listened to the golden age of US hip hop… 80’s/90’s… realised that it was the best vibe and everything since has been shit… and basically stayed in the classic 90’s zone for style.
Still can't believe Skinnyman never saw any money for this... Would love to hear what you guys think of the Jam Baxter & Ed Scissor tracks (Dead Players adjacent) and the new stuff from Skuff!
A seminal album from the UK.. Skinny has been a Don since mid 90s .. lyrically socially politically he is what you expect from a top notch lyricist and community activist.. you will not be disappointed in the album its a reflection of UK hip hop culture at its best... salute to Skinny and Mud Family n Task Force etc... apparently he had a lyrical freestyle battle with Eminem in the 90s I think and dusted him .. 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
And yes he is playing in the NY State of Mind ..representing with a UK perspective.. speaking of Nas you need to check out his recent show at the Royal Albert Hall in London with an orchestra performing Illmatic.. legendary... from one middle aged hip hop fiend to 2 from across the pond. Peace
Skinnyman one of the uks goats, glad you guys finally found him, as has been suggested the whole album needs a reaction. Failing that "f*** the hook" is a must followed "f*** the hook" by logic (uk)
Skinnyman got screwed over when his label boss stole all the money from his album and quit the UK. To this day never made money from the 1st classic UK hip hop album. No Big Ting.
Beer and bars you done it again , You need to react to more skinnyman original Uk goat , and I’m gonna put you onto some Uk pioneers , I know you been reacting to jungle dnb so you need to react to the originals such as Congo Natty aka rebel Mc the original pioneer of jungle music , tenor fly & top cat thank me later 🔥🐐🍺 🍫
I see people mugging him off on social media recently because how Jamaican he speaks. This is the first music I’ve heard from him though, he looks much younger here. To be fair, I grew up listening to 90’s rap and Jungle/ D&B… I’m white, but related to the lingo that was around my culture at the time. If a tune was good, it was a bad tune. Ah actually, once we got to the chorus… I have heard this before. I have said wah gwaan unironically and I love You Know My Steez. What about EPMD - Please Listen To My Demo? Back then I’d be listening to Krust and Roni Size one minute and my Wu-Tang mixtape the next
Guru would definitely sound incredible on this beat, for sure! The female vocals with some scratching from preemo woulda been 🔥 But it's a banging tune by itself and the fact it feels like a Preemo beat says a lot about the quality of it! Also, get him onto gangstarr lol first hiphop group i ever found and I fell in love with the genre after that 🤞
This is a classic album. Kinda dated now. Skinny is a wasted talent in my opinion. He could have made many more classics, but got sidetracked along the way.
Juice wrld is out. We are dropping 2 new songs per day or you could listening to the full album reaction on the patreon if you wann peep everything all together uncut
Finally! Skinnyman! The best UK Hip Hop album of all time in my book. Please listen to every song off the album!
Yep 100% needed 👍
The most real UK rapper that ever has been.
I have seen him live 3 times and got his signed album cover on my wall.
Also check out the story of the album. He never got a penny from it even though it crossed over into the "mainstream"
Which is belive is talked about in chester p's "the greatest story never told"

Great choice for a reaction! The full album is also a great listen.
Also agree that this beat and production is perfection!
I’ll be surprised and fuck the hook 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 needs to be on here
He deserves an album reaction true meaning of GOAT

Classic UK album. Should do the whole thing, but good luck finding it.

Classic album, front to back!
SKINNYMAN is another OG, came up with Chester P. I seen him battle EMINEM live in London and SKINNY won the battle

@@dimskowire1867I was at that NAS show, it's ok but doesn't hit as hard with the orchestra instead of Primo beats
