IDK... had a friend who banned their kids from touching alcohol. Her son drank behind her back and is now a full blown alcoholic. Another friend let their kids drink a beer or two here or there, and would let them order a drink at a restaurant when they were underage (legal in our state if a parent is with them). None of their kids drinks now as adults.

I dread that week and usually try to take sleeping meds to sleep threw that week. I can’t celebrate I loathe my birthday. My bf is the same his uncle became a quadriplegic due to his dad speeding to the hospital and crashing his car on the way to the birth. His dad blames him still to this day. It’s irrational to hate a baby but people handle things sometimes in very bad ways. This kid is going to be traumatized and have survivors guilt and probably what if himself forever. This is soul crushing. I hope the family can help each other threw this and see the blessing that they still have one child. Many forget that and only focus on the loss.
