Hi .. Great Video ... can you explain to a newbie how you got the tone for the speed/pot tuning. Did you record or generate with your measuring device? Thx
@@luvradios thx ... I have an app on my iPhone that reads frequency. could I record known frequency signals/tones to a tape and then play and adjust the speed/pot until my iPhone reads/confirms the same frequency?
Good morning luvradios, I have a machine exactly the same as the one you worked on in the video. My father bought it new in the USA and I used it a lot in my youth. My father passed away a year ago and the machine came into my hands but unfortunately the control panel does not work. Everything turns on fine, but pressing the buttons does absolutely nothing. I uncovered the back cover and checked the 4 fuses that are accessible, all are fine, and apart from the dust that has accumulated over all these years, the machine looks in perfect condition. I have some knowledge of electronics but I really don't know where to start checking. If you were in Monterrey, Mexico, I would look for you to do me the favor of repairing it, but I think we are very far away. Could you advise me what to do? Thank you in advance.
Raul, my email address is in the "about" tab of the channel page, send me an email with your phone number, it will be much easier for me to give you advice by phone.
Can anyone tell me how to use the record mute on this I have one works perfect but not sure how it works when I press it it does not stay in not sure if it should Thanks
Ralph, Rec mute is a “momentary” function , basically at any point while the unit is in record if you hold that switch in it will mute the incoming source being recorded on the tape till you release it.
Great work. I also have an Akai GX-625. If I may ask, When I put in reels, supply and take up, the function buttons do not work. Could this be a blown fuse? Thanks in advance.
Amazing job is what you do! I have an Akai GX620 and I have a problem. The Play KEY keeps flashing and the PAUSE key is ON all the time. Could you share some of your amazing knowledge with me give me some posible solutions? I thank you in advance.
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Ellis Clark thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Great video. Great deck and great music 😎😎😎😎
Thank you Antonio, thanks for watching!
Pinch roller is filthy!!!😮
As I recall the customer was planning on sending that pressure roller off to be rebuilt.
GREAT WORK
Thank You and thanks for watching the video.
Спасибо большое за Ваше видео!
My TC777-4 had sunken reels too. The axial play is terrible, probably from so many hours on it lying on its back.

Yes, I’m using a reel to reel alignment tape to set the speed.

I work with the US military in Japan and I deploy a lot to different location. I may have a couple in storage that need repair.
Look in the “about” tab of my channel page for my email address and send me the brands and model #’s .

Is the capstan motor turning once the tape is threaded?
Thanks for answering. No the capstan motor is not turning.
The counter on this model is way to slow. It appears 1 full rotation = 1 count. This is not std. spec for an R2R, should be 3 counts per rotation.
I had no idea since I rarely ever use the counter function on any piece of gear so thanks for the good info!

Hello, Do You have a repair shop in the US?
I closed my full time repair service over a decade ago, I still do some work from the shop in my garage.
And , do you only repair Akai?
I repair all brands, there are numerous brands in my videos not just akai.
