Finally!!! A real Mandevilla "Alice du Pont" that I can't find! Garden shops don't even know the difference! Thank you so much. Wish I could find another.

That's how I roll too, I usually find the Alice's at Home Depot here in North East PA or a local greenhouse carries them. Hope you find one really soon. I save 2 from last year and had them in the basement, but they have no flowers yet. Hoping they get flowers soon or I'll be running out to buy new ones like I have all the previous years. Fingers crossed lol

We used portulaca last year in the front of the pot and it turned out beautiful too. I saved my mandevilla from last year and stored it in a dark corner of the basement. I have no flowers yet tho and it's been moved to a window for about 6 weeks now. I saw somewhere about water soluble high phosphorus fertilizer so I will try that next. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

I recd a mandevilla as a gift this spring & was STUNNED by the literal explosion of blossoms on this viny superstar! I'm a huge gardener but somehow I've never crossed paths w/this gem until recently. They remind me of hibiscus but superior budding & duration of bloom.
Now the big question is: will my mandevilla in peak bloom continue to bloom indoors now that I've moved it indoors into a sunny location??? I'm hoping so!
Thanks for the great video; both you & your plants are charming! ツ from Rochester NY

Nice video. Sweet lady. She explained things well. But isn't this way too many plants in one container? How will they have room to grow? It looks to me like they're overcrowded.

What about the watering requirements? I think I read you should allow the mandevilla to dry out between watering. Are all those plants compatible?

I asked a friend what their favorite plant was and they said this. So I want to give them one for their birthday in October. I was thinking of starting with a seed now and grow it my self and give it to her in October. Would this work? Is it simple to grow it from a seed or should I buy one thats already fully grown in October and give her that one? I really want to start it from a seed but I don't know much about. And I don't know what stage it will be in in October if I start now. Anybody have any advice?

    • @julissarosales9498

I have 3 potted mandevillas and they love direct sunlight. move them into the shade, when temperatures are higher than 90°. I live in Southeast USA, where temperatures reach 100°
and they don't do too well with high temps. especially, if they're the smaller versions.
