This is the first time I've heard this explanation for why it's ok to receive in the hand.
What about the particles that are left in the hand or fall to the floor without using the communion plate?
    What about kneeling reverently?
What about the Priests hands being consecrated for the purposes of handling the Eucharist or holy objects?
What about all the Pope's prior to Francis that preferred communion on the tongue and tried to enforce it and stop the error of communion in the hand?
Communion in the hand needed an indult in the 1960's and wasn't supposed to spread further than the churches that had already started.

Not every Rite of the Church has kneeling. But that is simply a beautiful thing of the Catholic faith. We share in one accord the same Sacrifice, in great harmony as different notes playing in the same symphony conducted by He.
As for particles on the floor, they are treated as a host if it fell on the floor; essentially a sacred cloth or napkin is used to help retrieve the spill, then Holy Water must be used to dissolve the accidents.
Now I can't remember what the proper procedure for spilled Blood of the New Covenant, the wine, is. I imagine a methodical reverence definitely is involved.
One also must not get too scrupulous about it. Have reason and faith to ascend your concerns to the Lord. He will guide you in everything, especially through an accident. . .or worse, a sacrilege. . .involving accidents, His Body and Blood.
That doesn't mean to be careless, but thank God He is sovereign and in control. Thank Him he allows us to serve Him and lead others to Him.
