  • The OCEAN project is developing assistive systems to improve situational awareness for collisions, whale strikes and avoidance of floating containers with the aim of enhancing maritime safety. The project is built around human-centred design and technology, and is looking for mariners to be involved in the product’s design and testing.
Our expert panel Jaquelyn Burton, EMBA, AFNI , Margareta Lützhöft FNI, Erik Styhr Petersen AFNI and Matt Lynch will discuss the project’s objectives and how they fit into the context of an evolving maritime industry.
This Webinar launches a unique opportunity to share your ideas about a Digital Shipmate, how it might support navigators, and how you can be involved in the design and testing phase. The goal is to integrate human decision-making into the fabric of maritime safety, addressing critical challenges such as maritime navigational accidents, while keeping under consideration commercial, structural and environmental factors.
The Nautical Institute is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Our aim is to promote professionalism, best practice and safety throughout the maritime industry and to represent the interests of our members.
