After watching this, I cannot wait to take a test ride. Having said that, they could've added some features with different variants like cruise control and traction control. Specifying variants basis only a cosmetic change is a trend that needs changing. All in all, an amazing review and it leaves me with a desire to experience the machine!
@@BoraPreetam Actually I had watched many reviews to understand the bike under 3000 rpm. Nobody mentioned honestly about negative aspect below 3000rpm. Your review is on point. Only thing which I missed is understanding how low you could ride in 3rd gear below 3000rpm would have been very helpful. I feel for an off-road bike, below 3000 makes a lot of difference unless you are at a higher speed. I can't down shift all the time . I can't enjoy nature while riding if my concentration goes on shifting gears and matching revs. Please make comprehensive comparison review with scrambler 400x wrt below 4000rpm and above 5000-7000rpm behavior. It helps to decide choose between two.
I don’t think it’s too much of an issue. The Sherpa 450 isn’t high revving like the KTM engine, in the sense that you don’t have to be on the boil constantly. There’s enough torque at 2,000-3,000 rpm, but when you’re constantly in the powerband (4-7k), you do feel it’s a little tame below 3K. At the altitudes we were testing, we could only get about 28 hp, because of low oxygen. But that shouldn’t affect the torque curve really. But will be able to give a clearer picture once I get a test unit for a longer time here, closer to sea level
Its a great relief to know that at-least now they felt that they need a new engine for the new age ADV line-up and the Equipment quality has improved well enough compared to the old one
Actually, it’s not “now” they felt the need for a new engine. Work on the Sherpa 450 actually started in 2017, just a year after the first-gen Himalayan was launched.
I think depending on price, Adv 390 X is a greater value unless this 450 is priced at least 50k lower than it, i.e. around 2.4L ex-showroom (adv 390x is 2.9L). Better brand, better electronics, better styling, better resale, better acceleration, better highway top speed. Lighter and better riding.
You have a good point. My favourite ADV in this segment was the KTM 390 Adventure, despite its few niggles. That is, until I rode this one. I have a feeling this is all the ADV one needs, even when compared to my Tiger 800
@@BoraPreetamBold statement sir. Now I am choosing between these two bikes, while the ktm has a better power to weight ratio, it’s negatives such as stalling in low rev, inefficient suspension and heating in traffic holding me back from purchasing it. Because you have rode the above both bikes, would you help me with the choosing? Thank you
The answer to that is in your question as well. The new Himmy is more versatile, easy to chill at 3k revs and will give the Katooms company chasing 130-140 kmph easily. I’m waiting to get a test unit for a longer time to see how the Himmie behaves in everyday conditions. Let’s hope it still manages to impress as it did up in the mountains.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is definitely on my wish list
Dreaming of my next adventure with the Royal Enfield
Gonna buy when it will launch with tubeless tyres😊
Tubeless tyres are still some time away due to homologation formalities. Overseas they will be available from start of sales
A hearty round of applause for this amazing content! 👏🏻
Super excited to take a test ride 🙌
You are the only one who spoke honestly about lethargic behavior under 3000rpm. Thanks for your review
Thank you for watching. Your feedback is highly appreciated. Any other suggestions to help improve our content will be very welcome. Thanks again.
