I have Tabac 28, live in NYC and had to call the Miami boutique and they allowed for purchases over the phone. I ABOSLUTELY LOVE this fragrance. The only thing is that is does linger around as much as I would like. So I just have a portable sprays just to reinforce when needed. It is DEFINITELY pricey, but I get sooo many compliments with it, whats a few bucks ya know....
I have a few from the permanent line, as well as the city exclusives and while I hate the prices, they are still some of my favorite fragrances. I think Gaiac is one of the most unique scents and there's nothing quite comparable, but it does fade very quickly. It almost has a ...soy sauce quality to it in the beginning. I agree with a lot of the commenters below - I love The Noir! That, as well as Fleur de Oranger are my two favorites from the permanent line. This year, I will not be adding anything to my collection as it's already too large but honestly, I don't think Cedrat is for me. Of the City Exclusives, the ones that I own and love are (in order of preference) 1. Gaiac 10 - Tokyo 2. Musc 25- L.A. 3. Bigarade 18 - Hong Kong 4. Vanille 44 - Paris 5. Citron 28 - Seoul 6. Tubereuse 40 - New York
I really enjoyed this, Tara. Overall, every fragrance from this house is overpriced imo…especially the city exclusives. I think they’re over $300 for 50ml. I am lucky that I received T28 as a birthday gift, because even though I absolutely love it, I would have NEVER purchased at full price. I did buy a sample ($12 🤢) when it came out and was hooked, but figured the dream would end there.
Thanks, Justin! Yes, that's my hesitation with that one. I really like it but the price is more than I want to pay. If it were around $200 for 50ml I'd be much more inclined to go for it.
I really love Gaiac 10. I kind of like a unisex vibe, kind of woody. I normally wear Molecule 01 and 02 for reference. I used to wear Santal 33, but it was so powerful that I felt self conscious wearing it. Gaiac felt like a happy medium between Molecule 01 and Santal 33. A little bit more depth than 01, but not as beast mode as 33. Hope that helps someone with similar taste!
Poivre 23 is the one I finally bought this year after loving it and resisting for the last 2 years. It has a smoky sweet resinous dry down that I absolutely love. Thanks for posting this review! Benjoin and Tabac are two others that I’d be tempted by if the price point wasn’t so high.
Great vid Tara. I didn’t even know there was a Tabac fragrance &haven’t tried vanilla 44 yet(I want to though) but I agree on your thoughts completely especially with Baie Rose. For me the other one I want to absolutely try/buy is the Tonka. So far the only LeLabos I’ve ever really enjoyed was Bergamot 22 & especially Rose 31.(Nostalgia & Was one of my first Niche fragrances I bought and tried even before I started reviewing in 2013) Unfortunately their prices +performance even for the regular frags put a damper on the desire for me to purchase them at retail. Thank you for the vid though. I have some to check out when I visit their store in the city
Excellent review, Tara. I ordered a bunch of these last year and totally agree with your opinions on these. And you're right, they're outrageously expensive samples! None of the city exclusives stood out to me, especially at the prices they charge. My favorite Le Labo is Ylang 49...it has beastly performance reminds me of a perfume that would have been released in the 80s.
Ylang 49 is another worth checking out. I think it leans more feminine for sure but it is one I kept catching in the air from my wife and became very intrigued with it
My favs are Iris 39 and Ylang 49. I haven't tried too many others beside rose 31 which has too much cumin for me. Although, I know it has many fans. I have a travel of Iris 39. It is pretty strong so I have to be careful with my dose on workdays. Ylang 49 is more vintage inspired and really beautiful IMHO. I'm curious if you've tested either of these in the past?
Great video Tara. I have tried them all in saks on 5th Ave, but none of them blew me away at $485 plus tax for 100ml. Some of my favorites are Musc 25… if you couldn’t tell, Tabac, Cuir, and mousse de chene
Every September I do the same dance and visit the Le Labo counter and for City Exclusives, and every October I still don’t own one!! I’ve just never connected with the line, not for lack of trying!!
Great video! I’m always so tempted by anything that’s an exclusive or limited edition… I’m a hypebeast. Don’t get some started on special collaborations! I haven’t had any passion for Le Labo fragrances yet. I know some people are obsessed but I think I like my fragrances with a bit more attitude. ✌🏽🥳♥️
The only one I like from Le Labo is The 29. I agree on the Paris city exclusive, it's nice enough but for the price there are so many other great vanillas.
Another great impressions vid Tara. Although I certainly am a modest fan of Patch 24, Tabac 28, The Noir and B22, the brand never really stole my heart. Generally a bit rough around the edges and the prices.....are...prices. Yeah. 😂 Nuff said.
I feel like I've fallen on a bouncy castle filled with the bullies from the Simpsons and I'm getting walloped from all angles , I really dislike pretty much everything from the house but love your videos 😒🤣
Tabac 28 is a far cousin of TF Tobacco Oud. It would be a very good video if you get to review these side by side. Good video. Gives me inspiration to start my own review channel. Haha. I got 2 samples from the city exclusives. The Vanille and Tabac.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on those Tara…😁 i haven’t tried Le Labo fragrances, so i can’t say if they’re for me or not… time to grab a discovery set i guess 😂
Le Labo are very good at charging a premium for the exclusivity. Well, at least they make them available for one month to feed our FOMO. It worked on me and I’ve got three, and although I went for very small sizes, it still is to this day my most expensive fragrance purchase. Le Labo were as kind as to include one (!) sample with this order and I know I shouldn’t feel bitter about this, but just the fact that I still remember it, might be indicative of my surprise 😂. I’ve got Gaiac 10, Poivre ?? and Benjoin ?? and I really like these. The Andreas of today wouldn’t get them again, but I can see why they might be popular. However, I don’t really see the difference in quality or anything that warrants the premium price they’re asking for it compared to their regular range. I strongly advise people that they should go for it IF they'd also get IF it was available all year round. I might have thought about it longer … Thanks for this video!
Enjoyed hearing your thoughts on these, and I agree that for the most part they are all "just nice". They are currently charging $485 for 100ml of city exclusives, which is totally an insult to the consumer's intelligence. I've got Gaiac 10 which I bought many years ago when it was half the price it is now. But now that I know better, I realize it is made mostly of a huge most of ISO E. Most of these rely on some pretty cheap and commonplace ingredients, the high price is totally manufactured exclusivity. It's shameful to charge this when you could get Chanel Exclusives, Hermes Exclusives, Frederic Malle, even some Roja for less. The Le Labo's, while pleasant, don't even come close to playing in that league. Of the ones you didn't try, the Cuir and Bigarade are also pretty nice, but again nothing special to warrant the price.
Holy cow! Um, yeah, that's expensive. LOL! I would have to LOVE it for that price. I've only paid $300 for 50ml for one fragrance, which I consider a bit of a signature for me and in my top 5 for sure.
Have you tried any of the Le Labo City Exclusives fragrances? Which are your favorites? Thanks for watching!
I've never had the pleasure nor the dissatisfaction. So I guess my opinion is somewhere in the middle?
I have Tabac 28, live in NYC and had to call the Miami boutique and they allowed for purchases over the phone. I ABOSLUTELY LOVE this fragrance. Thanks for taking one for the team for purchasing these. Lol I’ve never found a Le Labo that I think is worth the money.
Lol! No problem! Yeah, they are so expensive.
I really enjoyed this, Tara.

Great reviews, Tara!!!😍😍😍$12 for a sample?! Go home, Le Labo - you're drunk🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 Too funny! Thanks Joss!

I feel the exact same way about Le Labo! I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one. Thanks for a great review.
Thank you, Janis!
This. Is. What I've been waiting for for months. Thank you!
Lol! No problem! I want to try more of them but the samples are so expensive!
@@Olfactofiles they sell 15 ml in my local Le Labo
And I can't believe the $12 samples are only 1.5ml at Least pour a decent full 2ml... Haha
@@missreia lol! I know! I can't even get 2 full wears out of them. Sigh. 🤣 I'll have to see about ordering a 15ml online. Thanks for the heads up!
Only The Noir 29 is the best imo, thanks for sharing, Tara 🙏🏼💜
Thanks! Yes, I like that one as well. I tried it a few months ago. Thanks, Rafael!
@@Olfactofiles Yes, I remember that livestream, my bad.
I agree, I was so surprised when I found out the samples were $12
Right?! That's too much for small samples. I can't even get two full wearings from them. Ugh.
Have always been reluctant to sample these. Grateful that you shared this and your thoughts.

Really helpful to hear your thoughts on these, Tara. I feel the same way--they're very nice, but I can't personally justify the price.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone! Yeah, I imagine I probably still won't own any by October.
Thanks for sharing these Le Labo fragrances👍👍👍It would have been more beautiful if the brand could also release fragrances in different bottle designs
I agree! I think the bottles are OK but it would be nice to see something different.

Love the Baie Rose so much, is there any dupe for cheaper? :(

Has anyone found a dupe for Gaiac 10 ? I just picked up the $13 sample and love it. But just can't bring myself to buy a 50 ml bottle for $350
I’m not a fan of the house so I don’t really see myself trying any of the City Exclusives. Good video, though.
