This table was the first SS machine I played, IIRC it was at either a 7-11 or some other mini-mart in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. The lightning-fast responsiveness of the circuitry blew me away, and yet I still managed to set a few high scores which awarded three replays back in the day. Always loved the coin crediting, reset and game over chime sequences of this series of Bally tables!!
I believe this was the first Bally game that "remembered" each player's bonus setup for their next ball. Aside from Williams' 1971 2-player "Solids 'n' Stripes" (which used a separate relay bank for each player), this type of memory was almost unheard of in the EM era.
When I saw this game in the arcade back in the day, one of the things that got my attention was the LED scoreboard. It was uncommon back in those days. I've only seen a few before but have not played them. I thought I gotta play that game. I didn't know the name of it (as a kid I was at the time), but I do recall seeing this guy playing pool. When I discovered this video, *now* I know it was Eight Ball!
@TheMav67 Actually, being a solid state game with chimes, it has no sound card. All of the -17 MPU machines had chimes and they all sound the same. I've had a Black Jack, a Strikes and Spares and two Eight Balls and many times I've played Mata Hari and Evel Knievel and Power Play and they've all had the same chime sounds and they all play the same tunes when the game is turned on, when a game is started and at the end of a game. Lost world was the first Bally machine to use a sound board.
This was my favorite pinball game many years ago. I was so addicted to this game. Nice video. The one I used to play a voice would tell which ball to go after. Does that not work on this machine?

I have the same one in perfect shape in my basement!! Love it
That was Eight Ball Deluxe (1981 & 1984). It's a very different machine from the original Eight Ball.
My favorite machine as a kid. Fonzie and Pinky right?
@Idelia412 You are thinking of Eight Ball Deluxe (1981)
