Wow some really great finds here! WALKERS is really good, SPOOK... not so much. Haven’t read TOY CEMETERY. I will say TRICYCLE is a cover that freaked me out as a kid when it was on a drugstore book rack! There’s a 1980 edition of REAPING w a super creepy baby on it, you can see it on my blog. Loved the video effects!

I thought I remembered Toy Cemetery being discussed in Paperbacks from Hell, but I think I was actually remembering a review Hendrix wrote about it on Goodreads instead. Either way, the book sounds pretty insane. So, naturally, I'm excited to read it. I'll probably never read Spook. I just really love the cover. I can see why the Tricycle cover scared you as a kid. It's really great and delightfully creepy. I love your blog! I don't think I read your post that features the other 1980s edition cover of The Reaping though. I'll go and search for that particular post. So glad you liked the video effects. It was a blast putting them in! I forgot that I actually had a whole folder of those effects on my hard drive. I gotta admit I buy a book for the cover art but I read the synopsis in back of book to see if it is really something I want to devote my time to!! Vintage horror especially from the 80s is the best! I've noticed that vintage British horror covers tend to be more graphic more gory which I love! Zebra covers either had a skeleton, a doll, a clown, or a creepy child on the cover!! Leisure and Tor covers were better in my opinion but to each his/ her own!! Great video!!
I love old school horror too, and I totally agree with you about vintage British covers. They are usually more brutal, gory, and graphic. So many amazing covers out there. The Rogue Brown Nectar is one of the best beers I've ever had. Only had it once at a restaurant, but it was REALLY good.
It's really delicious! It has really rich flavors. Some browns taste very thin, and I don't like that. This one has a lot of depth. It's hard to describe flavors and taste in writing, but that's the best way I can describe it! I'm glad you've also tried it and liked it! Thank you so much for watching and for commenting. Fun video, Kelsi!! You really went ham on the transitions this time haha. The VHS style one creeped me out. I gotta say, though, I love how you're growing as a content creator and as a booktuber, and this video here shows that. It's the best content you've done so far and I learned a lot about the books you showed. My favorite cover you showed was The Sentinel. That inside cover was so freakin' cool!!! I guess I'm proud of the Animorphs covers I own because they're cool. Keep up the great work!
So glad you liked all the effects and transitions, Dave! I will pretty excited about how it all turned out. It wasn't that difficult either. I had a fun time putting those in. I actually saved a few special transitions that I will only use in Halloween/October-time videos. Thanks for the kind words about my growth as a creator and also thanks for the constant support. I'm very happy with the haul! I got really lucky at the bookstore! Carlisle Street does look good. That cover is such a beaut! I am sure I will get around to reading it one day. Do you buy books for the cover art or the stories?.i have to admit I've judged a book by its cover
It depends! I definitely seem to buy vintage horror books more for the covers. That's what initially draws me to those. But a lot of newer horror books, I buy those because I heard the story is good or the summary intrigues me! So it just varies. Some of the old vintage covers are just amazing!
