I’ve read about the circumstances of Charlie’s death and can’t help but wonder if there might have been some underlying depression there anyway?
As devastated as you’d be to think you might have unintentionally, seriously injured someone, to react to that by killing yourself minutes later seems a bit of a disproportionate response. A permanent solution to a potentially temporary problem. As it turned out, the injured girl was absolutely fine. Can he have been in the right headspace to begin with? I suppose there’s also a chance drugs played a part.
Tragic that we’ll never really know and tragic that the band never fulfilled their potential. I remember hearing this song on Radio 1 back in the day and instantly loving it. This would have been just the beginning. We don’t really have bands like this anymore.
Yeah and these lyrics in my opinion feels very much like depression and suicidal thaughts. I just recently heard it and wow, Im just blown away. Listens on repite.
