Did you catch this in Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent? The movie included a nod to one of Nicolas Cage's best performances in Leaving Las Vegas. The main character of the movie is an alcoholic screenwriter who decides to kill himself in Sin City. During his stay in Javi's lavish home, Cage indulges in a binge and once imitates the same scenario from Leaving Las Vegas by walking into the pool with a beer in hand. It's meant to be funny, but it also offers a meta-commentary on the condition of Cage's career by making reference to the film that gave him an Oscar when he was at his most unqualified in his career.
