    Sometimes, it depends on the type of horse you're riding! Horses have different trots as well as different movements. I've noticed it's easier to sit some trots on some horses than others

      Yes, like if your horse has a quick, bouncy, short strides trot it’s going to be a lot morse difficult than if a horse takes long, smooth strides

      Been struggling with the sitting trot a lot, the horse I'm doing lessons on is an Arabian. Is that a difficult horse to sit-trot with?

    • @art_rant7144
      @art_rant7144 Рік тому +2

      @@kareemmonzer7894 Normally, the trot does not depend on the breed of the horse. Some horses have a more pleasant trot beat, while others are a lot bouncier and messy. Most times, it's the way the horse was trained to trot.

    I am still a beginner, but sitting trot for me is much more natural and easier than canter 😂 my trainer was also in shock, that first time I tried it I was pretty good at it. 😊 I am so proud to myself about it. Canter is a different story, but getring there 😂

      I used to be so scared of canter too when I was taking lessons in the past. But I always loved riding! So I went looking for a horse owner who needed help with caring for the horse and movement.. and now I ride this horse. It is very nice because you get to know the horse and get used to each other. Now I’m not scared at all

    Tucker looks so absolutely adorable with this length mane!!! For sitting the trot I find it helpful to imagine my hip going in an arch or a half circle in front of me, as in left down - forward up - right down - forward up - left down and so on.

    Beginner learner here (have been trail riding my whole life but now doing formal lessons) but I love learning the rhythm of the horse while walking. It makes it much easier to get to trot. It was tough to do trot when they’d put me on a different horse that I hadn’t bonded with and/or learned their rhythm.

    I’ve been riding for 15 years, used to be glued to the saddle all my youth. Ever since my mare got injured 1,5 year ago and I didn’t ride for 9 months (and then fractured my spine and couldn’t ride for another 3 months), I have struggles sit-trotting. Bareback is amazing, my seat is flawless, but in the saddle… I go everywhere. No clue what I do wrong. I’m going to try your tips and see if my seat improves!

    I have been working on my sitting trot for years with many teachers and I could not really figure out what I did not do correctly. And this video just totally unlocks that! I tried it once after watching and it just worked! I stopped bouncing and now it just looks still and effortless (but actually my ab still hurts 😂). Now I just have to keep practicing until I can do it long enough for a whole dressage test! One thing though is that, I have somewhat busy legs if I don’t pinch with my knees, so I was wondering if maybe I need to grip more with my inner thighs?

    I noticed each horse has its own rhythm and different trot. Some horses seem smooth and easy to sit, others not so…smaller horses make gentle ripples, larger horses it’s like ocean waves! At first I was taught to move my hips in a zig-zag manner with the horses movement but that worked that for that particular teaching horse…I don’t have my own yet so I ride various horses and when I do the zig-zag it still feel bumpy ( and I worry the bumping would hurt the horse)…where does your seat reside when u sit? I notice it’s smoother towards the back but apparently that may put too much pressure on the horse?

      Some trainers take longer then others. So there are trainers like my friends trainor that took 3 years to teach her. I was at a place that litterly wanted to wait 4 years. I moved barns and they got me to canter on the 3rd lesson. I had only been riding for 5 months before then. Sometimes, trainers that take forever are good for some people. As me I like moving faster.

    Nothing has ever helped me visualize sitting trot until now. I've always been told just to sit and essentially stay in the saddle but that's totally wrong! You can't just sit still in the trot it's not a still or level movement. The horse rises and falls in a bouncing motion, the saddle to so you also should be. Think: Pushing the saddle further up the horse's wither or actually jumping with the horse.
