It's a pity newer names for color combos don't tend to stick, because it would be really cute if people started to refer to color pairs by the creature types in Bloomhaven.
Golgari is a sentimental favorite from childhood because bugs and remains so because I love how it’s a fantasy faction that includes things like both zombies and elves and makes sense. As an adult I love Boros for the same reason because of goblins and minotaurs fighting alongside humans and angels.
As a new player I don't think of Golari as "the graveyard color combo" so much as "the obnoxious pile of midrange cards that have no business being as good as they are color combo"
I first began to be interested in Golgari because of my fondness for two things: chocolate and puns (Green & Black's is a moderately upmarket chocolate brand). However, as I leaned into the bit, for want of a better term, I found myself enjoying a lot of the mechanics and ideas. Graveyard manipulation to emphasis the fact that death is the only unifying factor of life; using things other factions and people disdain to prove that everything in nature has intrinsic value beyond human aesthetic enjoyment; the understanding of ambition and personal power as means of ensuring community defence; all these and more typify the Golgari ideology and presence within the colour pie. Golgari are an extant form of life, and you cannot kill us in any way that matters.
I really like how the play style of the colour pairs is reflected in their aesthetics, I think my favourite two colour pairs would have to be golgari! Love these explanatory videos 😊
seen you ina video the other day figured i would subscribe thanks for the quick guide, also your middle and last name had me double take that i heard that right, goodluck on you next milestones
While I have been known to run Selesnya for life gain, ramp, and wide buffed swings, Golgari is where my heart truly lies. Dina, Soul Steeper with Scute Swarm and Dollhouse, along with other synergy cards, drains and gains all day. Tossing in Fynn the Fangbearer and deathtouch shenanigans adds extra spice to the not so nice. I round it off with fun tech like Meathook Massacre for boardwipes, and reanimation spells to keep the swamp hag vibes flowing. Ever sticking true to my nature like the witch I am...POOF! All my friends disappear. Thank you so much for all of the content, for just being here in general. As a genderfluid person who's basically 70%Fem and 30% Mas 90% of the time, I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see all my gal pals dusting the boys, and my fellow eNBys game after game. Keep slaying queen🖤💚
As Dimir player I can confirm that I like seeing people suffer. The feeling of hope leaving their eyes as I counterspell their win condition is immaculate
Orzhov because Ixalan's Dusk Legion are my favorite vampires in fiction. I love everything about Ixalan though. Rakdos because Kalain is my favorite d&d Forgotten Realms character. My favorite tragic DM npc I have played.
I love the malice of Dimir, is my favorite combination of color and drown in the loch is my favorite card (which is pretty boring). Being the bad person that I am my top tree is: Dimir, Griixis and mono Black :)
I thought so. Also loved the vid, been following ya on twitter for a bit, but im excited to see content from you on youtube, keep it up 👌 But cant forgive you for what you did to those servers over at wotc HQ... @nilejoanrivers
wow good eye! a loooong time ago i played some 40k, and i've been a dungeon master for like 15 years, but most recently they have been for painting display miniatures just for fun and painting mtg alters :)
The Orzhov and Golgari guilds sound cool, they should try combining them.
@@AbzanEnjoyer LMAOOO
And now you have the animals of Bloomburrow, who are basically what you get if the ten guilds could all get along and live in harmony.
Gruul and Rakdos combined seem like they’d define the personality of an entire subset of players in the 2010’s, might start foiling out those cards.
for thematic reasons you should omit the dimir color combination from this video
We need the Alara Shards next. Ive been an esper or jund player for as long as i can remember
@@trdraven I'll def do the shards soon :)
(I'm grixis girlie myself)
Gunna start using Bloomburrow animals instead of guilds just to be annoying. "Oh, you're running a lizard colored deck? Got it"
Honestly, as a new player, that sounds so much better than all these guild names
It's a pity newer names for color combos don't tend to stick, because it would be really cute if people started to refer to color pairs by the creature types in Bloomhaven.
don't you mean Strixburrow?

For a long time, my favorite was Gruul. But I’ve been starting to gravitate more and more towards Golgari lately

I looove golgari as well. I'll always be a yawg girlie 💚🖤
Excellent video for new players. Even if the only actually good color pair name is Witherbloom. (I'm willing to hear arguments for Izzet)
We’re all entitled to our own opinion even if it’s the furthest thing from right :)

I've always been a fan of orzhov, golgari, and selesnya, luckily, there's a color wedge to combine the three 😂

I'm surprised to find that a lot of comments here are in favor of golgari. I thought it was slept on quite a bit. It's really awesome color combo.
