this looks like it could be used a piano as well!
It would be even more interesting if the device played a color's actual sound (the reverse of seeing the color in sounds)

That would be great, although I think that colors have too high of a frequency to hear

so you mean chromesthesia in reverse. That could be an interesting way to allow artists to compose music!! It would need a way to structure rhythms as it would only start with the pitches.
