- How to make a natural foam free spring arrangement featuring zingy tulips and branches.
Ingredients - tulips, hyacinth x 2, stock x 2, mixed twigs, touch of foliage and rosemary, mimosa
Spring is all about growth, colour, texture, and fun and today’s design combines all of these. The branches create a framework for adding the flowers and the clear container adds interest. Use gravel or stones to hide the base, and dirt, and as a support for the stem bottoms.
Tulips just do their thing, and they tend to flow in one durection. We picked up on the direction suggested by the branches and twigs and this gives the design movement and rhytm.

Those tulips scream SPRING! And in all the best ways! The hyacinths, too, are wonderful. What a beautiful, and very natural design, John. Thank you for the ideas of the branches as mechanic. This is brilliant! Hope you have a fine week!
Thank you Sir! I think yellow is a colour that really says spring - it’s bright and joyful! Hope you are well and have a great week. 🌼🌼🌼
John, I always look forward to your weekly videos. I love arrangements that are outside the box! Yes, tulips have a mind of their own :) I was surprised to see stock in that beautiful color! And I've never thought of using rosemary, either! The mix of greenery is always so interesting - I learn so much from you!
Thank you so much. 😊 rosemary is a great foliage both in texture and scent. The stock is an unusual colour - slightly vintage? Glad you look forward to our content - that’s great to hear that, thank you!
I love the idea. It's environment friendly, and beautiful. Thank you'.

Great idea with the wood pieces!👍
They worked a treat 😊 the gravel at the bottom gives the other holding point for the stems as well.
This is exquisite John! It looks just like it would in nature on a spring day! I learn so much every time I watch you create! I especially am grateful for how you explain the mechanics of floral design! Iam a long time viewer of your wonderful channel!
Thank you so much 😊 that’s great feedback - thank you!
That's lovely and so fresh and spring like, the use of small branches as a mechanic works really well... Something to try out 😊
Thank you Carole! 🌼🌼🌼
Wow! Love it. Absolutely stunning, sheer perfection, my kind of arrangement for sure. Thank you so much. ☺☺👏👏

Where have you been? 😀
I love to use roots & driftwood! Always adds so much interest! Love the arrangement!
Thank you so much 😊🌼🌼🌼
C'est un magnifique bouquet de printemps, bonjour de France.❤
Bonjour! Thank you 🤩
This is wonderful, just like tulips coming up on a river bank or pond edge.
I love that image - thank you! 🌼🌼🌼
Very nice! I don’t have an eye for the big branches, but they turned out to be a wonderful base for the design! Love it! From Texas🇨🇱
Thank you 😀 they do dissapear a bit when the flowers are added, so that softens their heaviness a bit. 🌼🌼🌼
Lovely design 🙂
😊🌷🌷🌷
Absolutely love the natural beauty of the branches. The florals are beautiful! ❤❤
🌼 thank you 😀
Very well designed!!
Thank you 😀
Really beautiful as expected Thanks
😊🌼🌼🌼 Thank you
Beautiful arrangement John. I love tulips as well .Unfortunately, we here in Australia are going into autumn, which is a lovely season as well. Thankyou for your interesting and unusual ideas.
Thank you 😊 enjoy autumn - it’s just as nice as spring, though I’m not sure what that is like in Australia - depends which bit you are in?
Love it!
This is a brilliant design. I love how natural it is and the wood are like hands holding a bouquet. With the use of the wood, there is support without the use if extra greenery. I love when you do designs like this because it shows the everyday person how much they can achieve with home items.
Thank you 😊 that’s a good description - in fact any mechanic is like hands holding the flowers. 😀 I hope people are inspired to get creative and bring flowers into their lives - it’s fun and just use what you have!
Beautiful.
😊
So cheerful--and foam free!
😀 Thank you!

Works a treat
Beautiful and springy! I am with you on the tulips, John!
😊 tulips must be good - they squeak when you work with them 😀
Muy Bueno

What do you charge in shop for this arrangement?
Hello - this is more a design that people can make at home for themselves - it isn’t likely to travel well in a van.
Pricing is a very variable thing - there are so many factors tors that affect the end price for a customer.
