I can imagine Ivan's Shed 300 years from now and Ivan is talking about the latest project from Starfleet Command: " I remember when Starfleet ask me to move the shed to high earth orbit...they gave me a ton of money but they were quite put off by the amount of bits and pieces I had laying about that they had to move up there for me...well it worked out for them because a few years later John remembered we had some new old stock dilithium crystals stuffed away in a corner and we figured out how to get them to work in the main engines...we were tinkering about one day getting them sorted...when we were done we sprayed some wd40 on them and hit the starter...the bloody thing took off at such a rate they had to rename it warp speed...we were gone 5 minutes but they had to go on a 5 year mission to find us...they don't let us test drive star ships any more...but it was worth it...anyway, check back next week as Duncan Pittaway is dropping off a Klingon warship with a wonky cloaking device..."
Excellent shed workmanship. Thanks for the videos. I wish Ivan had a microphone on him so I could hear his words of wisdom a little better and less background noise. Maybe start an Amazon wish list and see what happens! 🍻
Knowledge, patience, and skills. All coming together to help that little beauty live again. Good job. Well done. Far outside my capabilities 😂😂. 👏👏 Regards Steve.
⚠️Top Tip from Jules. Have you noticed Tiger seal goes off quick once opened? Store it in the fridge it lasts for months ! Same goes for super glue, that lasts for years when chilled
thanks for the crankshaft/flywheel explanation. I'm only 76, but sometimes the fog around brain can get thick. so if you don't remember how you fixed it yesterday, dream up a way to fix it today. the advantage of being 70+ is that you've probably forgotten more that the kids know. you guys be safe and keep having fun.
This is just brilliant !. I could watch and listen to Ivan all day long, his knowledge and intellect is priceless and these old cars are amazing. Thank you to all involved in making these videos, very entertaining and educating.
Great video Ivan, John's face when the beast fired up was all the explanation needed for why we tinker with old cars and motorbikes. What a machine. Best wishes, Dean in Oxfordshire.
Wonderfully absorbing channel ! There is so much to learn from your work it’s untrue. Engine sounded great on startup and much quieter that I was expecting. Thanks for sharing.
Made a bit of mess with the Tiger seal......im sure it could look better than that lol. But everything you do works and brings you a lifetime of joy so the state of your Tiger seal seems small fry. Great channel. Cant fake this stuff.
It is wonderfull to see two old friends work so well together at something they are passionate about. Ivan and John, please look after yourselves and keep up the good work. The world needs this type of joy.
Look to the future. Words to live by. I’ve watched so many ‘Will it start?’ videos where the blokes are shouting and high fiving and then there’s you two; Never in doubt.
That engine is a monster! Each cylinder has nearly twice the capacity of my entire car. Reckon you'd beat me in a straight line, but I'd have you hands down in the corners. Now, if I could get a 10 litre engine into a Mazda 2...
I could watch these videos all day.. Love aero cars! One piece of constructive criticism, it would be nice to have a lavalier mic and frame in tighter on the interview portion of the video.
Good to see the show back up and running again! Absolutely beautiful old race cars on the this channel. Lovely work on turning that old airplane engine to a dry sump engine for the classic race car. Keep the good work up! All the best!
Another great video! It looks like I need to get some tiger seal! I had a very similar layout Hall Scott engine in a Holt/ Caterpillar 2 ton tractor. The Hall Scott company originated in Berkeley CA. Hall Scott engines were popular in aircraft, marine, trucks and fire apparatus.
Thanks Ivan, another super vid! Lovely to see you again, this time at the Bicester January Scramble, pushed you in and we chatter about this car, others and your train in the cabinet! Keep the good work up old chap! Oh, and I thought I was the biggest fan of Tiger Seal, but clearly you are, ha!
That moment when an engine first starts never gets old.....wonderful feeling. Going to find out more about this “Tiger Seal”....looks like useful stuff. This channel never disappoints.
Another brilliant episode. Very Well done. Tigerseal should be your sponsor. Brilliant channel with very interesting content. keep well and episodes coming👍👍
Fantastic Hall Scott built some huge petrol engines used to tank transporters called Pacific’s during WW2 they spat fire so we’re called Dragon Waggon’s
Just thought I’d let you know how much I’m enjoying your channel. I found it by chance when browsing for new content. I always go for engineering and bike related (usually Harley) channels and yours is quite unique. Have subscribed and am eagerly awaiting more content. Thank you!
Years ago I had a Muncie input shaft that had twisted ever so slightly that caused the same problem you are experiencing. I hadn’t seen it before at that time but now know it’s quite a common problem.
Brilliant channel with such interesting content. Thanks for taking the time to share. Perhaps you could arrange an interview with the guys from bad obsession.
I used to maintain a fleet of Hall Scott A 590 motors in Crown Coach Buses. The Hall Scotts were engineered and built to the highest standards possible. I called them automotive jewelry.. Always wanted to build a car around them, kinda like a salt flats art deco speeder. As life often makes plans for you this dream has not yet come to fruition. We will see ......
That was a great watch - what a fantastic piece of engineering. Much quieter and smoother than I was expecting, and can’t believe how cleanly it runs with your piston mods. The lovely thing about huge old aero engines is that everything is big and on display, and running so slowly that you can see the engineering principles in action in real time. Looking forward to seeing the road test 👍😊
Another great episode Ivan. The content is informative, interesting and enjoyable. Production has been lifted, no more sea sickness trying to keep up with the camera movements. I look forward to you giving a chat on your earlier racing history. Particularly your wins in the Escort championship. Aside from your driving skills and jockey like build you could let us all know how you prepared the cars to get such great results.
As always what a treat to see Ivan john and the team at work , we all cross our fingers for the first start of a engine that's been apart , and you guys nailed now that's what i call a sweet first start , looking forward to seeing you make this distributor improvements and the road test , a couple of questions what rpm do you usually get the engine to idle at and what sort of rpm do you rev it too , kind regards Nigel
One of You-Tube's finest

WTF ????
@ Mark S..
You have Ivan down pat, such an understated, mater of fact delivery, hahaaa
Brilliant !.
@@mattmepham4725 I really like the background sounds myself
Men in sheds....A typical British thing...some of the best home engineers in the world!
John's face was a picture when it fired up.... I could almost hear the "hoo hoooo, listen to that!"
Also a shout out to the videographer. Great closeups of the engine!
Watching you two working together is a complete joy. Also, I'm going to get some Tiger seal to fix my leaky wellies.
Got any leaky tigers?
Knowledge, patience, and skills. All coming together to help that little beauty live again. Good job. Well done. Far outside my capabilities 😂😂.
👏👏

Steve.
wonderful...the slow speed idle is sweet....can't wait to see it spinning the wheels.
Gentlemen start your engines that’s fanbloodytastic, what a wonderful machine and very well engineered 👍👨🏻🏭
⚠️Top Tip from Jules.
Have you noticed Tiger seal goes off quick once opened?
Store it in the fridge it lasts for months !
Same goes for super glue, that lasts for years when chilled
Love the expression on John's face when the the engine fired up. A master class in Edwardian engineering. Great stuff.
A master class in English reserve you mean.
Lovely job. That aero engine is much quieter than I was expecting.
I sometimes have to watch each episode two or three times, because once is never enough!! Bravo, lovely job, MORE!!

More power to you Josh is so lucky 🍀 to have met you 👍
That engine with that car is the things dreams are made of. Cheers from the US.
Very entertaining Ivan. Thx for that.😃🇨🇦

One word comes instantly to mind.....beautiful.
Another fabulous episode. Pragmatic engineering, great entertainment and always very interesting. Thank you.

I could listen to you speak all day. What a fantastic explanation of bits and parts. Much respect to you gents.
I am so amazed watching you two work. You weld and machine anything you need to make it work! Y’all are a couple of geniuses!!😃
I could watch these videos all day.. Love aero cars! One piece of constructive criticism, it would be nice to have a lavalier mic and frame in tighter on the interview portion of the video.
Yet another cinematic marvel Ivan/John great entertainment.
A beautiful piece of original engineering, and re engineering gentlemen, well done.
I am amazed at your technical knowledge and your meticulous attention to detail. The sweet running engine attests to all you both have done.
The rods are the longest I think I've ever seen. It must have lots of torque. No smoke to speak of even at first start. Well done gents!
24:05 a new character!
Ivan and John, great to see that wonderfully interesting old aero engine being assembled and started up in the race car, keep up the great work.
John exiting the little boys room at 8:30 while Ivan is talking to camera is comedy genius 😁
Two masterpieces of engineering Ivan and the engine!
What a treat to watch this old beast being prepared for another event, it sounds absolutely amazing.
You pair are what engineering is all about , fabulous work with attention to detail and problem solving are wonderful .More please Ivan .
Fantastic! Great to see it running. “I’ve had quite a bit of experience” - nice bit of understatement :)
Two very clever gentleman 👍
Loved it. So satisfying to see and hear the H&S fire up! Fantastic work as always; all the very best from Canada...
Love, love, love your channel Ivan... Keep well & race hard.
Thumbs up,very enjoyable vid.PS.the prop would have been a very heavy flywheel.
Thanks.
I’d subscribe twice if I could. Great stuff boys
you guys work on some nice stuff and do great work
Superb outcome with that engine. Beautiful work.

Strange how the dizzy is in the cockpit, so to speak. Going to get me some Tiger seal. Great video.
Qué maravilloso motor. Me pareció un Peugeot.

Great video again
Such a great sounding lamp
Congratulations to you both, fantastic work, can't wait to see it on the road.
Years ago I had a Muncie input shaft that had twisted ever so slightly that caused the same problem you are experiencing. I hadn’t seen it before at that time but now know it’s quite a common problem.
Very good as usual Ivan, hopefully many more to come
Absolutely fantastic! you guys are wonderful :)

I'm really enjoying this channel.
Great stuff , you are an inspiration
Bless your sweet heart sir. :)
TIGER SEAL FOR THE WIN!
thoroughly enjoyable as always. many thanks Ivan and team 👍👍
A suitable size hose clamp & maybe a piece of brass shim stock makes a great emergency ring compressor.
Brilliant channel with such interesting content. Thanks for taking the time to share. Perhaps you could arrange an interview with the guys from bad obsession.

Great content Ivan. Would be interesting to see a video on the bikes in the background if you ever have time
Thanks - We will get round to it at some point!

I wonder if you thought about double ended bike coils and no distributor? Well done with the project and thank you for sharing this with us.
Amazing to see you both working on these old engines ! Always an inspiration ! Waiting eagerly for next episode ! Cheers from Portugal !
Very good nice effort chaps.
