On lap 5 as Paz manages to close the gap with alex toledo with a damage fairing that causing him a drag and with the nature of highspeed track of portimao.
Kyle paz just pulls off a great pass off the slipstream from alex toledo on the mainstraight at portimao and soon after the incredible pass, paz went wide at turn 5 and he drop 2 places back to 9th place however kyle manages to comeback and beat both toledo and escrig to regain the 2 places he loss and finish an amazing 7th place in race 1 at Autódromo Internacional Do Algarve.
