It's very interesting how koyasu takehito mentions that reading the manga kinda gets in the way of voicing toji. I remember sugitan saying he actively avoids reading the source material because when he knows the story, he finds it hard to voice too! Very interesting how knowing the source make things harder for some actors, I always thought it'd be otherwise
i think it's very common for actors in general to not want or is told not to read through the source material coz it could get in the way of their acting.
I think it's due to basing their interpretations on future material instead of current material. maybe. cause like, when they record voices, they would be seeing the anime version OF the source material, which in theory should give the same impression. so they're still "seeing" the source material, kinda. but by not reading the source material, they for sure wouldn't see FUTURE content.
I think it was for the actors to be able to performs naturally, like if you could see the 7 days ahead of you and saw what happened in future, I think you would be confused how to act "naturally"
It has to do with biases if have a role you know nothing about, you get into a feeling and start being creative like the voice could be high or low, but if you read or watched or played the source material you could be biased and be like no this is how the character will be. Which makes it shallow and one note.
I find Koyasu-san cute and adorable. I mean, in contrast to the characters that he usually voices, he's just chill and gentle. I really love how he portrayed Toji, I couldn't think of any other seiyuu who will be perfect for the role.
I would say Koyama Rikiya probably could have played him really well. He’s voiced characters like Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate Zero and Azazel from Highschool DxD, so he definitely has that chill and deep voice. Plus he’d be both a Mage and Sorcerer Killer
Whenever I watch these videos and listen I immediately imagine each character with a headset talking to each other through a laptop or sitting in a cafe together talking about how they acted and what they thought of their acting. It brings the character to life when I imagine this! All of them interacting together brings me joy.
Its like heavenly music to my ears listening to them just chat. Voice actors are really just on a whole other level. And Mr. Yasumoto had me laughing at the end too 😭😭
i've already seen some of Koyasu's previous work and i knew he matched perfectly with Toji, but what suprised me was how cool Yasumoto's voice is! both of them have such an amazing voice, they were perfect to the role. Thanks konpei for the sub!
I'm 0:13 in and way are Enoki and Koyasu's personalities so much like their characters so far? Toji would tease and Itadori would have this childlike enthusiasm. I love it.

Kei Ibuchi and Masato Aizawa in a podcast... seems a bit uncanny to say the least 😂 But hey, they both served as final bosses in their respective stories, so nothing too bad.
