I guess, in India, Bengali and Marathi movie industry often produce movies with real looking actors (not too glamourous), real stories and movies which touch a lot of local Scenes. Also these two industry adapt novels and Screenplays to make films more than others. Of course other industries (Tamil, Telugu, Bollywood, kannada) too produce such movies but in between they produce way too many commerical movies. By the way, i am a Hindi Speaker and don't understand Marathi or Bengali. I have huge respect for Marathi and Bengali movies.

So 4 years ago everything was so different in my life, i remember watching his video to get through the problems in my life, also i had my father at that time. Definitely an awesome movie. Very different then regular love stories. Loved the part where the lovers run away & the problems faced by those two seem too real. Unlike Bollywood movie where the couple lives in a small clean cottage , wear good clothes, live in a beautiful village with awesome scenery. The part where the couple in sairat lives in a SLUM , their day to day problems, fights, struggle seems so real & I am sure it hasn't been shown so beautifully in any other movie.

And somehow her brother ( name: prince) and his friends find them. So their neighbours were playing with the baby and they take him with them for a walk, her brother and his friends come to their house with gifts and presents( sweets and sarries). in the next scene, neighbours come back and leave the child at the door and child crawls inside the house and when he reaches kitchen, both of them are lying in a pool of blood (dead).... It's very emotional scene, I really recommend you to watch the climax of the movie... (It took more than 50 takes to get the perfect reaction from baby)

Jaby if you can, do put this movie on top of your watch list because Sairat was a very unusual movie. The second half especially was so poignantly created. try watching the movie... it's about upper class girl and lower class boy, their love story and opposition from the girl's family... They run away, their struggle, earning money and finally having a happy life until their parents know about their location after years. it has a tragic end, and these kinda things still happen in parts of India.

The actors in the movie are not really actors. They are just normal people. They had never acted in a movie before. Infact they were facing the camera for the 1st time. Sairat is one of the best movie ever made in India. You should also watch the 'Zingat' song from the same movie. Plz check, that song is taking over Internet. yes Jaby the actor's look legit as they are or were ordinary people the lead actress just completed her 9th grade after release of this film which make her overnight star... must watch movie for super concept, super acting, surreal locations and a wonderful dialogue (can't imagine how would be translated) but they were perfectly narrated in the trailer..
Sairat is a marathi word, it means "totally wild". And this is the best love story, india has ever produced, though it was in Marathi language, which was not my mother tongue, but I literally learned the language for this movie, actually my gf is from maharashtra, and I watched the movie with her. So here's the challenge, i challenge jaby to watch this movie, and end up without crying like a baby. I still get emotional when i listen to its songs. It's the best love story you could have ever watched. In this movie title, "sairat" meant, wild love, which was so true that it ended in a wild way! Do watch this movie. The movie was made in around 3.4 to 4 crores and it's earned around 75 crores and the movie is still going houseful in theatres. yes Jaby the actor's look legit as they are or were ordinary people the lead actress just completed her 9th grade after release of this film which make her overnight star... must watch movie for super concept, super acting, surreal locations and a wonderful dialogue (can't imagine how would be translated) but they were perfectly narrated in the trailer..
Sairat is a marathi word, it means "totally wild". And this is the best love story, india has ever produced, though it was in Marathi language, which was not my mother tongue, but I literally learned the language for this movie, actually my gf is from maharashtra, and I watched the movie with her. So here's the challenge, i challenge jaby to watch this movie, and end up without crying like a baby. I still get emotional when i listen to its songs. It's the best love story you could have ever watched. In this movie title, "sairat" meant, wild love, which was so true that it ended in a wild way! Do watch this movie. I've fallen in love with maharashtra and its culture after watching their movies, they do amazing job. Keep up the good job Jaby.
