This Seal Vermilion Box is made with a blue and white underglaze porcelain jar produced for the prestigious Chinese Xiling Ink Company of the 18th or 19th Century China. This Ink Box is a traditional jar that held red ink for the extraction of red ink used for the Seal or Stamped signatures for official purposes. This jar in box made of paper could have been used by the senior person of post and posture as a tool of offering his seal of approval. Ideal for museum and private collectors.
