- [Major Spoilers] A tribute to The Walking Dead's Tara Chambler. Tara Chambler was undoubtedly the most important character in the series to me, as she was for so many. Losing her was - and continues to be - extremely difficult. Through the past almost six years she was on the show, I have related to her, laughed with her, and even cried with her. I owe so much to this character. When she came onto the show in 2013, I was very closeted about my sexuality and suffering from depression because of it. Through her, I was able to accept myself, come out as a lesbian (literally because of her - I recreated the "yeah, I like girls" scene from 4x15 "Us" with friends), and live a MUCH happier life, all because of Tara's positive influence on me. She's also gotten me through a Governor-esque type "friendship" a few years ago, helped make my unusual friendship with my then-best friend feel a lot more normal through her friendship with Eugene, a wild work experience through how she came to forgive Dwight, and even the loss of my best friend this year. The first episode he and I ever discussed was 4x10 "Inmates," when Tara and Eugene first met. The last episode we talked about was 9x02 "The Bridge," the last time the two are seen together. Meeting Alanna Masterson in December was an incredible and emotional experience - she was fantastic. There is so much more I could say about her, but I will keep it concise: Tara will be missed tremendously and her impact on myself and so many fans will not be forgotten. Beautiful! This may be farewell to Tara Chambler, but it doesn't mean I'll ever forget her. Tara portrays that you can still be a ray of light in dark times, she always tried her best and remained loyal to her family who always loved her. 2013 was when we first met Tara back in November, thinking that she was just another typical survivor who The Governor might end up killing for his purposes... but I was wrong, she grew and when I thought she just died in the prison assault in 4x08 to never be seen again... She reappeared when Glenn found her and he couldn't just leave her. With an intent to just do the right thing and save her... She became one of the most important characters in Team Family's lives, even made Rick freaking fist pump! in his season 5 stage, you would expect him to just walk away, but how can you deny that personality? Tara quickly made amends with Maggie and they became the best of friends, even if they never settled their differences in the end since Maggie left, she still took the lead to help the people she left behind. Tara never thought to make it out of the prison and was going to die with her guilt, but she decided to help others and change lives with just being... herself. Tara has survived the toughest situations, from the prison assault to Terminus onslaught, to the Savior All Out War, she held her head up high and even in her dark era of wanting every savior dead because of Denise, she found herself again. Tara rebuilt Hilltop over 6 years, she helped its people even though they weren't the family she started with, she denied Michonne's orders, freaking Michonne! That's a stealth QUEEN. Tara wasn't having it with Michonne being a secluded teenager wanting to hide from everyone and took matters into her own hands. When Jesus died, she knew that she wouldn't know what she was doing, but stepped up because no one else would, she was THERE, even in the dangerous times against the Whisperers. Tara knew it would be dangerous to be revealed as the General of Hilltop, but protected others in the process. Tara Chambler is down in history as an ICONIC GODDESS!

She was one of my favourite characters! I remember telling one of my friends a couple days for the episode that I LOVE Tara, and I honestly believe I jinxed her death. I remember seeing Enids head, and I let out a little cry, but when I saw Tara... I screamed 😭
I had a horrible gut feeling in the days leading up to the episode that she was going to be on the pikes...I'm sad it was right :'(

all day ive been crying, i havent watched s9 yet and this was spoiled for me 😭 curse the internet and youtube recommendations such a badass adorkable character and alanna portrayed her perfectly .. it never should of been Tara 😞 been so depressed in my room.. thank you for this .. life is an ugly lie and death is the beautiful truth. i cant cope with the death of my most favourite character since the moment we saw her in the doorway with a gun to the governor and her short hair :) i knew she was my favourite and i love her so much not just tara ,,alanna masterson too ,couldnt of been without her

I miss Tara so so much. I found out she died a week before it happened and I knew it would hurt my heart when she died but I had no idea it would hurt so much. It's insane how much a fictional character can impact you. Also I love the video. :)

Yes I'm crying while writing this. I am a year late, but Tara reminded me of my self. my brother is always like "I'm glad Tara is dead." Tara meant a lot to me, First glen, Then her who is next Jerry?!?!

It actually sucks that watching these videos used to make me feel happy and now every time I watch them I'll always feel a little sad :/ Tara had SO much potential as hilltops leader, she deserved that chance and a chance at happiness. I still feel like there was more story to tell with her and she didn't deserve to be among those who alpha killed, especially since she was one of the longest surviving characters and now she only gets passively mentioned and Henry was the main focal point of those deaths even though we were barely given an opportunity to like his character.
My Tara is gone!!! I was very sad for a few days when I found out she died (I don't have cable but I follow youtube and FB)!
I was depressed/unwell the entire week after...even looking at an image from the end scene of 9x15 makes me feel unwell all over again. :'(

Thank you for this. I was really scared to watch because I thought it would make me cry and be really sad, but it actually highlighted what a great character Tara was and reminded me of all the reasons I love(d) her. As much as I love her character you gotta admit she served her purpose, other than her being a leader of hilltop I didn't see much they could do with her,after the thing with Dwight was done she just didn't have much to do.
