13:17 - I'm here now! Thanks for the video Greth. I appreciate the analysis, feedback, and tips! I learned a ton watching! I look forward to getting better at Tribes for sure.
Especially for newbies, a few jump pads distributed across the map would be good, and in my opinion the game would be a little dynamically faster and the heavyweights would also be able to enjoy traveling a little faster and further. as is possible in Tribes 1 Annihilation mod. PS: I'm a Tribes 1 Annihilation player
So glad I wasn't the only boomer to say it's a zoomer shooter.... Will admit I was in the casual scene...my best weapon was thundersword ramming v: And yeah I wanted to say your point to the sniper on their vid, but I see they're in the comments so message sent I hope. You covered my concern, movement with combat. The character is more of a weapon platform than just a shooter, so lead takes on different viewpoints. I never got in the alpha test so I can't really say how the spinfusers are in feel, but when in the air traveling at speed and firing from the side to a target stationary on the ground, you gotta aim behind it due to....it's literally physics. they had to teach this stuff to side gunners in WW2 bombers... But if you can hit them on the ground, you can soon hit them on the air....but yeah...even if all us old Wolves and birds and rusted daggers and sand birds somehow manage to hive-mind up the perfect explanation, it's still going to boil down to "practice." And...that's not something you get with modern shooters.... Now, I was definitely a casual tribal and it's been quite some time since I booted up T2...let alone Next. These days, physically stuck there--take care of your neck and spine people--so I'll be a ground pounder...but I prefer the term "entry-level vet." I'll have the moves, but that honourfuser ain't gonna be for me. But if you get me...well then there's you....and that's the colloquial plural "you." Unless the Thundersword appears 'cause I will pilot the crap out of that again.
Even as a complete scrub and first time fps-z game, I had fun running med armor and helped by interdicting opposing team attempts to cross into our part of the map, harassing on theirs, and escorting our flag cappers. However I hope balencing isnt competitive focused that then trickles into and messing pubs, looking at you Overwatch in its entirety, MOBAs and Team Fortress 2 ruining some weapons. Random rocks and other items sticking out of hills can get u caught killing your speed, though avoiding them comes with map knowledge and exp I guess. Also is it just me or does skiing f with your turning control?
I'm curious about this game, but I've read some stuff that this is basically hirez developing it again, but with a renamed studio, which kinda turns me off. seeing how it looks very similar to TA, I assume it's true. I loved TA and was quite bummed that they shut it down for some copycat game they tend to develop. I did request access on steam for the next beta or whatever it will be tho.
It's many of the same devs, operating from a spinoff studio under Erez. He's still partial owner of Hirez. They took the Tribes IP with them to the new studio 'Prophecy'. They seem to be intent to make a good Tribes game, but from the perspective of T:A so far. But a lot of feedback has been pouring in, so we'll see. It's early days yet. They rushed out this alpha, and it's been improving so far each time we get to test.

Plenty more to come!

Video volume is a little low in comparison to your voice. Normalising the volume would help. Likes the video and the thoughts though
Yeah, I erred on the side of too low so 'talking over' wouldn't be so disruptive. Am noob at react, will improve :o

Yeah there currently is little to no carving. So there is a lot of 'up and down'.
Kind of generic.
