I've always been a Mizuno player and with my 225's on order, little changes. I had a largely blind fitting with the fitter handing me different clubs and different shafts but when I hit the 225 the ball just flew so beautifully. They look, feel and sound great. The biggest problem is the rest is down to me!

Went into a fitting wanting either 223s, 225s, P770s, or T100S. End up leaving with I525s. They just felt so solid and crazy easy to hit while still being workable.

Im a mid handicapper and I've hit every iron set under the sun. I was just about to buy p790's and then I heard about the I 525's. I hit them and immediately fell in love. These are hands down the best looking, best feeling players distance irons out there. Nothing can touch them

I have the i525s on order now after a fitting. I didn't hit the 225s but did hit the 223s and they weren't bad. My best numbers were from the 525s and the Rogue st Pros. I also hit the G425s, have hit the P790s, and the ZX5s, T300, my favorites were the i525 and the ZX5s and the 223s. We will see how I feel once I get the 525s out on the course.

I’m new to golf only been playing 18months got the ping g425 full range and absolutely hate the irons always have. Feel horrible and hard when hitting them. Got fitted for the mizuno pro 225 irons 3 weeks ago and should have them in 5 weeks time. Mizuno pro felt much nicer to hit.

Ping i525 7 iron loft at 30.5 degrees is the same as the Callaway Rogue ST Pro, while the Mizuno Pro 225 is 30 degrees, so all three seem to be in the same category aimed at the same player audience.

Look for me is the Ping. Mizuno I am sure will feel better as I game a Jpx 919 and even that’s softish. As a mid-high handicapper I would rather go progressive with the i525 head looks larger and potentially more forgiving? It would be great to have a video to compare the forgiveness between these two and the TM P790.

@@legend9018 I’m a self confessed Ping fanboy. It was between the i525 and G425. G425 hit the longest and most central (20 years further than my current i20s), but felt dull and clumsy with the bigger heads. I love the satin look of the i525s vs a lot of the other clubs in that sector (mizunos) and they were simply incredible to hit. Have hit the ping but not mizuno yet. The ping surprised me. Never owned a set of ping irons but I was surprised by the feel and performance. I have always played forged clubs so won't tolerate a hard feel off the face. The ping was surprisingly soft. Also hit the g425 and that was as expected, very hard. Would love to hit the mizuno but it's hard to get past the price. Waiting for the Wilson d9 forged to come out which is firmly in this category too.

Would quite like to test both. Currently Game M20-MB having moved away from the HMB. I’d like to game an iron that gave me a little bit more help as I look to shave off a couple of shots to reach CAT1 but I’d need to know that they have solved the issue with the distance control as with the HMB I could get some that would fly 10-12 yards further especially off a small tee on Par 3’s!

Great choice of irons to compare. I started out playing mizuno solid forged & have since only played forged. but if its between these 2 irons, would choose the ping. The hosel on the 225 is just way too short and un-mizuno un-forged. Even with the metal ferrule its way too short. Never liked the look of Ping irons (till blueprint) but the i525 looks v nice.

Between the Mizuno’s and the Ping’s for me it would be the Mizuno’s. I switched recently from Ping 710’s to the latest Taylormade P790’s because while the forgiveness for me between the 2 were very similar, the feel of the 790’s was so much better to me. I’ve hit the 225’s extensively; while the 225’s were a bit less forgiving than the 790’s the feel for both were equally as good. With performance being equal the “feel” factor just increases the enjoyment of playing.

Feel is #1 when I'm playing golf. Absolute #1. The expectation of strike where the illusion of the ball sitting on the face for a millisecond longer is a control thing. And the iron with more pleasurable feel will always give you 100 different miss sensations. The iron with no feel, you can feel a miss but you don't know what kind of miss it was. My Mizuno blades have a different sensation when I miss 2mm towards the hosel, or 4mm towards the hosel. I know the diff between 1,2, or 3 grooves low. Not a commentary on myself, but the better the player, the more they will tell you about how they value feel in an iron.

I've just changed from JPX900 Forged to the 225. I tried the JPX921 Forged in my fitting together with the Hot Metal, 221 and 223. In my eyes the 225 looks considerably better down at the ball than the JPX but it is also looks smaller especially in blade length. Somehow I found that an advantage and I was hitting the middle of the club much easier with the 225 than I did with the 921 Forged. The 225 definitely gives more distance but it also has really good height. 7 iron carry for me is around 145/150 yds with the JPX900 but the 225 was around 160yds. As soon as I hit it I liked the feel and sound. On a pure middled shot with the JPX, there isn't much difference between the two but I would say that on most shots the 225 felt and sounded better. However we are talking degrees of excellence here because both of these clubs are up there with the best. You need to go and try them yourself when you have plenty of time.

Luckily on the driving range otherwise it was flown away and may by lost. Please note the shaft was not broke just loosened with both the clubface and shaft fully intact. Off course this can happen, but within one year :-( Played before with Mizuno MP18MMC for 3-4 years and now again without any problems. Everybody will say there is no problem because PING offers a service but this is surrounded with a doubt full process for the customer because PING only communicates with the shop and the shop - in my case Jumbo Golf. As a customer you are left in the blue so i delivered my clubs to the store because it needed to be send to PING for ..... however 1 month later still without my clubs and no information about the follow up.
