Prabhu Ji please accept my humble obeisances. Yesterday I read that one should not try to utilize the holy name for one's personal service. Does this mean if we want to free ourselves from some bad habits we should not take shelter of the Holy Name? I'm little confused about this point. Kindly show your mercy upon me by clearing this doubt 🙏
Hare Krishna I heard we should chant the holy name to please the lord Krishna but not to please ourselves. Why we are chanting is important . For our pleasure or Krishna's pleasure. It should be Krishna's pleasure. In that way, one can chant and make Krishna happy. - Holy names are nothing but Krishna himself. So by associating with Krishna... Ur bad qualities will be gone. So if you keep sole intention of removing ur bad habits...it may be selfishness. If you keep intention of removing bad habits so that u can become better devotee of Krishna....it is a good. However chant to please lord Krishna & Krishna will make u happy (removing ur bad habits)
@Piyush Majhi - Krishnakanth Goparaju answered it very well. When you switch on a tubelight without even requesting darkness goes away. Similarly you chant HK to awaken love for Krishna and unwanted habits will flee away even without your requesting Lord! HK Ys Radheshyam das
