Thank you for watching, Superfans! It was a thrill to see these locations AND bring a DeLorean back to Lone (Twin) Pine(s) mall. Please check out our other episodes!
I played Back to the Future the other night for my kids who are 6 and 3 yrs old and they loved it! The look on their faces when Doc first backed the Delorean out of the van was the same one on mine when I first watched it as a kid. It seriously made me so happy just to watch them watch the movie. There is just something magical about this film, for me at least.
I used to hang out at Puente Hills Malls back in the early 80's before we moved in 1985. That was so cool to see a familiar place in a movie. My friends said they watched the filming
I just watched a couple of videos uploaded very recently of Puente Hills Mall. Very sad to see it is practically dead, with only a few stores still open. At least you have the good memories of hanging out there when things were good. I hope to see a major revival of this mall in the future.
@@BeyondtheBacklot I'll have to make some friends first... I actually ended up here looking for BTTF assets (from your time lapse specifically) for a video I, myself am making. As one UA-camr to another, quality pays off in the long run. Trends come and good, timeless content never goes out of style :)
Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
As a child of the 80s, these films _are_ my childhood, and seeing something like the Delorean driving up to the same iconic spot of pavement at the Mall...all the feels. I wonder if kids today have something similar? What will make a 10 year old kid today cry happy tears in the year 2055...?
You’ve tapped into the reason for this show. These movies mean so much to us and we believe, because they existed before on demand entertainment, these decades carried a unique influence on our generations.
Reliving the DeLorean scene at the parking lot in front of the Mall, and at night, must have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You sure are one of the luckiest man in the world and I will envy you for the rest of my life! Keep this videos up, please! Your videos always leave me craving for more...
I’ve always been a big fan of location videos but yours are off the charts! You go above and beyond belief getting an actual Delorean on the parking lot! Wow! Even getting actors on the locations?! What? (i.e. Karate Kid) The production quality as well. Stellar! I’m binging all your vids! Thanks!
I just stumbled upon Beyond the Backlot, I’ve watched, Home Alone, Goonies, Karate Kid and now this. Thank you so much for doing this. I am thoroughly enjoying each and every one!
Stumbled across this channel via recommendation and so glad I did!! Brought back so many good memories of watching these classics with my dad who isn't with us today.. thank you!!
Keep doing this stuff guys! You have the edge on telling these stories. I was in LA last year. Found the Marty McFly house too. Man, you just stop and stare right? All the memories flood back. Awesome!
I lived with my uncle for about a year in West Covina CA in 1984 to 1985. I used to go to the Puente Hills mall all the time. When I saw the movie for the first time I had just moved to Oceanside CA. I saw that scene with Marty skating into the mall the same parking area I used to drive into I said "HEY!" kinda loud then whispered "That's Puente Hills Mall'! My friends looked at me like "Shhhh"!
So amazing! Thanks for taking me back to my childhood! All the things you were saying were the same as what I thought as a kid. Even to the point of dreams of going back in time. So cool.
Great job, bro. I love your great attitude, "Totally" being into this movie. I've done the same thing. Marty's house, the Mall, & the Burger King!! I "Totally" loved it!!
Being stationed at Eglin over in the Florida Panhandle, I have always, always wanted to visit these locations. While on an assignment at Point Mugu in 2018, I jumped in my rental car each weekend and finally after nearly watching the films 30 years ago visited the McFly house and the Mall, as well as the drag strip location for the end of part 3 and of course, the "holy ground" where the DeLorean meets its end at the train tracks. Words cannot put into how I felt to finally be at those locations. People that aren't "Backies" just won't understand - the trilogy is magical and something I absolutely love and adore. We ran into fans at nearly every location, which was so cool as you got an idea for how much these movies mean not just to yourself but to others just like you. For a small moment, when with others that you have not pre-planned these visits with at all and are total strangers - for just a moment - you get to passionately share a mutual love for something together. To see the smiles and the happiness that comes from it in those spontaneous moments is simply amazing. Oh yeah, and DeLorean VIN #3299 is checking in here too : ). Owned it 17 years this November 11th. Won't deny, always a fun time taking it out and seeing these kinds of reactions without being there in L.A. Maybe one day...
You guys always do an epic job with your location scouting. The tree where Marty fell from has a block on the cement/sidewalk with BTTF etched on it. Hopefully you can capture that in a future BTTF location update. Love your content!

04:48 It's actually South Pasadena on a street called Bushnell. I lived close by and watched this scene filmed. I have a photo of McFly up in the tree. Some guy from the film crew yelled at me for taking photos. Something about being a "closed set". Not knowing what a blockbuster this would be, I was really fascinated with all the old cars parked up and down the street.
Really need to visit these locations. I love the trilogy and live 30 minutes away from each spot. The movie even takes place 3 days after my birthdate.
Good to hear of fellow Christians enjoying my favourite movie of all time. I'm an Anglican(Church Of Ireland) Christian living in Northern Ireland where alot of other Christians hold the view that ALL secular entertainment is wrong. I'm also a MASSIVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL 🏈/SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS fan and some Christians would have a problem with that as the NFL teams mostly play on Sundays. late reply, but my son watched it for the first time recently and he was just smiling throughout. just reminded me of how I felt in the 80s. :)
I am sure kids this age can comprehend a story about time traveling.
Back to the future, probably the best trilogy ever made.
Love. Thanks for watching!
