That’s so not right. I remember being Chicano in the early 70’s in LA and we weren’t allow to do much bc we were seen as undesirables. Then the riots came thru our small Hispanic community of Wilmington California. My dad’s friend who owned a liquor Store on Avalon Blvd put up signs in front saying, I am Chicano. 😂 VIVA LA RAZA!

Very different city now since 2012 a lot of Hispanic native generations had to leave. Nonetheless if you were there before all that you are one of the few that know San Diego for what it really was

I live in San Jose CA, where our Chicanos are heavy on the lowrider scene and its always so beautiful to see them, all gather up together. Sadly, not everyone can identify as a Chicano Soley based on the fact that they don't have a cool car or dress up all nice like one.
