Dear MJ fans, this video is NOT an MJ tribute. Janet's career is NOT an MJ tribute. Janet continuing to make music after her brother's passing is NOT an MJ tribute. Also J Cole made that line, not Janet.
I still don’t think she gets enough credit for her body of work. Music, fashion, acting, humanitarianism. She’s held it down for so long with such class. I think she’s so soft spoken and mild mannered that she kind of gets over shadowed by MJ’s legacy/scandals, and Mariah/whitney Houston. Just found out that she’s cousins w/ Stevie Wonder… makes a lot of sense. But her music is amazing from softer side of songs like Loney, to songs like Warmth… she’s a dope/creative soul
This song was low key slept on!!! To me this is up there with some of janets best work . And that J .Cole feature was the icing on the cake. Perfect track to listen to at night when it’s raining outside with yourself or your lover or thinking about your lover lol
No Sleep spent twelve nonconsecutive weeks atop the chart, it became her most successful Adult R&B Song, surpassing "I Get Lonely" (1998), which spent five weeks at number one.As of May 2018, the single has sold 178,183 digital copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. This song was not slept on at all🤦🏾♀️
Couldn't agree more. I believe it had to do with bad label promo and bad production throughout the album. This song hit a note with her old school vibe and new school feel having J. Cole kick bars on the Track. Unfortunately what we have currently is nothing near this masterpiece.
The number of thumbs down that keep appearing is a perfect example of the fact that people forgot what real R&B/Soul sounds like! If this was a garbage trap beat this would have had over a million hits by now. Smh. I guess it doesn't matter, Janet's concerts are selling like crazy so I heard so it's all good!
Absolutely! Folk who have been fans of this woman since 'Control' are fans for a reason. I love the fact that she does not pander to, nor even try to please everyone when it comes to her craft. She has and will always be a class act and she does not have to prove a single thing to anyone
Nickd Randle It's been 2 and a half years, and not even a full 20 million views...for an ICON like Janet? This just proves the era we Janet fans came up in (mid 80s-90s) was sooo much better and more fullfilling/soul-stirring than the era these youngsters today are growing up in. I actually feel sorry for them. Sure, they get to grow up in the midst of all of this crazy technology and access to information, but they truly missed out on growing up in an era where making real friends and communicating with real people in the real world out was the only option. An era where heading to the local video (and music outlets) to hunt for/buy/rent what you wanted was the norm. An era where folks didn't have sooooo many options at their fingertips, that it caused them to have the attention span of a knat. An era where music with feeling, depth, soul and substance (even the freakier stuff had more soul and feeling back in the day) were easy to come by because they were the RULE, not the exception.
Janet Jackson is one of those artists who can really bring that old school feel yet keep it very current at the same time .... something that is seriously missing in the music world yet Janet does it flawlessly with perfection, nice touch with the MJ 'Butterflies' mention too within the rap from his 'Invincible' album :-)
+Robbie Glover totally agree. Some on here bitchin', sayin' this tune is too tame, too much like 'That's the Way Love Goes'...to me, it's just Janet sounding like Janet. Had she come out with some radical sounding tune that was 180 degrees opposite from 'No Sleeep', a lot of folks would have been bitchin' about that too...oh, that doesn't sound like Janet ... she is a incredible stylist and that's one of the many reasons I love the lady.
i see what you're saying, but music wise though, i wouldn't sound as good. for instance with keyshia cole featured with future, in my opinion he ruined the music. but that's just my opinion. j. cole really did his thing on this track though
sharabrezzy It depends the artist that collab. If you noticed, J Cole mentioned MJ's Butterflies. On tht song, MJ collabed with Jay-Z, and it sounded good. However, Maria rarely collabed with someone that made since, like her and Old Dirty Bastard, i didn't understand that.
I love everything about J. Cole. His height, his voice, his eyes and just his NATURAL APPEAR. He’s definitely the TRUTH. Him and Janet have beautiful chemistry doing this video. 😉
LOL....Yes. I had this on blast coming home at 2 a.m. this past weekend rolling through downtown and man it''s like I was so fuckin calm and relaxed. I remember when she first announced she was going on tour and the instrumental of this was playing in the background and I was like damn that beat, that bass, not knowing this was going to be the first release....fell in love with it.

Janet is an individual who looks and sounds like her own self. She is a self made, independent, beautiful, talented woman, who made her whole career and personal life by choosing people like Jimmy and Terry to work with, and had no help from any family member. Janet is an #idol. Janet is an #icon.
I think that Janet Jackson's Unbreakable Album is severely slept on! I'm looking forward to hearing new music from the beautiful, sexy, youthful looking, and sensual Janet Jackson! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃
_To us hardcore Janet fans, the album was one of her very best. I still listen to this gem 💎 often. Where have those 9 years gone? Can't wait for her new album._
Gia A Madonna is not doing anything that she hasn't been doing since 1982. Only haters criticize her antics. Now, Janet has been stuck her shtick since 97. STILL singing about sex, hasn't had a hit since 2001 and this is going nowhere. Greatly disappointed in this. Another song about sex and the first image of a man we see is... Joe Jackson? Wtf?
Idk how I missed this video. Her tribute to her dad & MJ brought tears to my eyes. So much symbolism & cryptic messages in the song and video. Love it!

Jesus. Leave it to Janet to snatch wigs and turn it into a deep-rimmed sun hat...chile... I loved this! I'm so glad we're getting music like this again! I'm also glad Dave Meyers is back in full force with his unique presence on music videos! Reminds me of the times where music and videos has soul and captivated you! I cannot wait to see what's next!!
***** I was trying to put my feelings into words but I think we can all agree you summed it up in the first line of your comment! #snatchingwigs #deeprimmedsunhat
She's baaaaaaaaack. And she STILL look good! Oh my god! That smile! I already watched this like 27 times just for that SMILE, Jesus! I done fell back in love with her all OVER again.
This song is so underrated. It's a drug lol. Everytime I listen to it, It's like a high euphoric feeling. An orgasm to the ears. J.Cole's verse takes you to another dimension as he describes a feeling I didn't know you could put into words . Then when the song is over, I'm left in a state of awe. Like I just came out of a trance and have to replay it to revisit complete bliss again. No Sleep
Jester Jenkins Yeah, but I kinda prefer the radio rip I heard yesterday. I could already hear J. Cole during the first few seconds of the song. Here in the video, I was surprised J. Cole simply raps to end the song.
I couldn't agree more. Nobody can touch her. And she's in such good shape. Janet fan 4 life. I don't listen to as much J. Cole not until now. They both did their thing on this track.
This could have been made in the mid to late 90's. Been a long time since I heard some classic r&b. It was good back then! R&b came from Disco, Disco came from 70's soul music, like the O'jays.
***** I grew up with disco. In the 90,s it was all about R&b. I think that kind of R&B came from disco. I love Bruno Mars since he started making disco music. Especially 24k is a top disco song.reminds me of disco during the early 80's
I'm so sorry you guys mixed all up...that's what you get from listening to 2nd/3rd level artists like the "annoying" Bruno Mars...but I don't blame you, that's what the music industry's all about nowadays...First there was the "Blues", afterwards it came "Jazz" and "Gospel" (Folk and Country also came along), then, in the 50's/60's of the XX century, it came R&B ("Rhythm & Blues", because it is a sort of a more fast paced bluesy ballad), Soul (mid/uptempo rooted gospel voice sound turned into secular/more commercially appealling sound), Rock'N'Roll (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Chubby Checker, and then it all exploded with Elvis Presley) and Pop (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys...)...These genres got mixed and influenced each other back then and up until now...thus, since the late 60's, due to the development of the music industry as we know it today, and to an increasingly commercial appeal, all the other genres that came afterwards are nowadays under the "POP/POPULAR" umbrella, including R&B and Soul, that since that time got a different meaning and even sound, becoming even more associated with all the great BLACK MUSIC TRADITION (that Blues, Jazz, Gospel are part of), being branded as URBAN MUSIC, particularly in the United States...So, for instance, "Funk" and "Disco" (70's), "Hip Hop/Rap" and "House" (80's) although normally marketed as autonomous subgenres, are in a way still under those "urban music", "black music tradition" and "pop/popular" umbrellas...and when you read "Old School/skool" VS "New School/skool" it usually means the difference between "urban/black music" from the 70's up until the mid 90's VS "urban/black music" from the mid 90's up until now...which means that "old skool" music is more associated with more real instruments, more real/strong/traditional voices, more deep lyrical content (no violence, no swear), more sophistication in production by comparison with "new skool" music, more associated with a more sinthetic sound and (easy) commercial appeal...Nowadays, the way the industry is heading, you have an increasingly more hybrid sound and the total blending of "old skool" and "new skool", for instance, in artists like Bruno Mars...Janet Jackson, by comparison, always tried to stay in a more "old skool" lane, that this song is just a perfect example, a blend of "old skool" Pop, R&B and Funk beat/bass...I hope I was able to help you both!...
+Mr. G I think jcole represented more of a masculine energy , showing the other side of the coin to the feminine energy from Janet. Either way, either version is very good IMO
Janet J. at her finest once again. Another banger. “Go Deep 2.0”. If you haven’t heard “Go Deep” yet then you might wanna check it out. Fo Shizzle. Another classic Janet J.
R. Exp. She does and always have had pop and Rnb hits. If you don't appreciate or like her music then go post somewhere else. You won't be missed. I would think that if you are here on her youtube channel, then you must like what you are hearing and seeing whether its Pop or not.
Bennie Williams I like her, but I think that to be the Queen of pop, she would need to brake many records that have already been broken. If you know what I mean...
This is one of those songs that should have reached number one in all the music charts. It's so good. It's a soothing and awesome throwback to 90's R&B. It should have been a hit.
Are you still listening to this beautiful song in 2024??❤

Man..When Cole raps "Butterflies like MJ", I got a lump in my throat.. Such a nice tribute from Janet.

So fresh that I had forgotten that it came out in 2015 even though 2015 isn't that long ago.

I'm also glad Dave Meyers is back in full force with his unique presence on music videos! Reminds me of the times where music and videos has soul and captivated you! I cannot wait to see what's next!!
That's true! And I was just thinking about him the other day and how videos in the 90s were so awesome. Janet, Missy, TLC, etc
***** "Leave it to Janet to snatch wigs and turn it into a deep-rimmed sun hat"...Thank You for this
***** " Leave it to Janet to snatch wigs and turn it into a deep-rimmed sun hat"..I love that. Makes no doubt what the point is!
***** I was trying to put my feelings into words but I think we can all agree you summed it up in the first line of your comment! #snatchingwigs #deeprimmedsunhat

'i love diving in your mind and coming with every diamond i can find' -J.Cole 💖
This song is so underrated. It's a drug lol. Everytime I listen to it, It's like a high euphoric feeling. An orgasm to the ears. J.Cole's verse takes you to another dimension as he describes a feeling I didn't know you could put into words . Then when the song is over, I'm left in a state of awe. Like I just came out of a trance and have to replay it to revisit complete bliss again. No Sleep
Her smile is not just on her lips, it lights up her whole face😊
That whole album is fire. Lots of throwbacks to her 90's era vibe. I am so here for it. Love Janet.
This song is forever a classic ❤
no sleep even in 2020 ,guys this rock's my world....
Mine too✌🏾
Me🥰😅🙏
So many MJ references ❤️❤️✨this song is so relaxing 👑
When she smiles, it takes me back 25 years.
Jamming to this classic in October 2023🎉
THIS IS HOT. J Cole, makes this track even more mellow and yet rich. The sound is great and the visuals are balanced. Janet is beautiful.
Jester Jenkins Yeah, but I kinda prefer the radio rip I heard yesterday. I could already hear J. Cole during the first few seconds of the song. Here in the video, I was surprised J. Cole simply raps to end the song.
Yeah. It probably would have been cool to hear it that way too. Either way. I think it's a strong song. The arrangement still works.
Jester Jenkins Hopefully, the radio rip will be the album's version.
Jester Jenkins Living for J. Cole here. First TLC now Janet... love him
I couldn't agree more. Nobody can touch her. And she's in such good shape. Janet fan 4 life. I don't listen to as much J. Cole not until now. They both did their thing on this track.
This could have been made in the mid to late 90's. Been a long time since I heard some classic r&b. It was good back then! R&b came from Disco, Disco came from 70's soul music, like the O'jays.
from what style do you feel it evolved from then?
*****
I grew up with disco. In the 90,s it was all about R&b. I think that kind of R&B came from disco. I love Bruno Mars since he started making disco music. Especially 24k is a top disco song.reminds me of disco during the early 80's
I'm so sorry you guys mixed all up...that's what you get from listening to 2nd/3rd level artists like the "annoying" Bruno Mars...but I don't blame you, that's what the music industry's all about nowadays...First there was the "Blues", afterwards it came "Jazz" and "Gospel" (Folk and Country also came along), then, in the 50's/60's of the XX century, it came R&B ("Rhythm & Blues", because it is a sort of a more fast paced bluesy ballad), Soul (mid/uptempo rooted gospel voice sound turned into secular/more commercially appealling sound), Rock'N'Roll (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Chubby Checker, and then it all exploded with Elvis Presley) and Pop (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys...)...These genres got mixed and influenced each other back then and up until now...thus, since the late 60's, due to the development of the music industry as we know it today, and to an increasingly commercial appeal, all the other genres that came afterwards are nowadays under the "POP/POPULAR" umbrella, including R&B and Soul, that since that time got a different meaning and even sound, becoming even more associated with all the great BLACK MUSIC TRADITION (that Blues, Jazz, Gospel are part of), being branded as URBAN MUSIC, particularly in the United States...So, for instance, "Funk" and "Disco" (70's), "Hip Hop/Rap" and "House" (80's) although normally marketed as autonomous subgenres, are in a way still under those "urban music", "black music tradition" and "pop/popular" umbrellas...and when you read "Old School/skool" VS "New School/skool" it usually means the difference between "urban/black music" from the 70's up until the mid 90's VS "urban/black music" from the mid 90's up until now...which means that "old skool" music is more associated with more real instruments, more real/strong/traditional voices, more deep lyrical content (no violence, no swear), more sophistication in production by comparison with "new skool" music, more associated with a more sinthetic sound and (easy) commercial appeal...Nowadays, the way the industry is heading, you have an increasingly more hybrid sound and the total blending of "old skool" and "new skool", for instance, in artists like Bruno Mars...Janet Jackson, by comparison, always tried to stay in a more "old skool" lane, that this song is just a perfect example, a blend of "old skool" Pop, R&B and Funk beat/bass...I hope I was able to help you both!...

boowonder888 I feel like southern rap and trap music like future ruined rnb.
Janet Jackson oozes star quality. This video makes it feel like she never left. Glad you're back Janet x
exactly, well said! :)
Not only do I love Janet Jackson's smile, I love her laugh too! lol
Janet will always be my favorite. Best of all time.
Antonio fan account Walker this song is fire. They keep saying "90s feel" but it feels 2015-2017 to me.
I have loved this woman since i was an early teenager, I'm 50 now and she still has the smoothest sound ever.
38 years old, and I have loved her my whole life.❤❤Blessings to you!
QUEEN! This video is truly everything, and J. Cole's addition to the song is marvelous! So excited for this new era!
#realtalk □ ✓ :)
Creat1ve J. Cole killed it.
I love this song much. So sensual and relaxing

She came back alright... and slayed my life and all of ours.
No matter how old she gets Queen Janet just has that young, tender, angelic voice. Been a fan of her all my life
Cole murdered this!
dalexsplatt :)
That is one of the reason WHY this song hasn't been able to climb any faster... in view hits... Too long and a rapper wasn't needed:(
Yes on the black zone... He has done good, but on the white zone, he has a lot to cover...
+Mr. G I think jcole represented more of a masculine energy , showing the other side of the coin to the feminine energy from Janet. Either way, either version is very good IMO
T.M. Bales Laugh right out...
Janet J. at her finest once again. Another banger. “Go Deep 2.0”. If you haven’t heard “Go Deep” yet then you might wanna check it out. Fo Shizzle. Another classic Janet J.
Legendary Miss Jackson
The Queen of Pop is back. Love you Janet.
Bennie Williams She does not even make pop music!
R. Exp. Trust me....I know exactly where you are coming from. That's why we are all entitled to our opinions. Glad to hear you like Janet.
Bennie Williams Queen of Dance, YES! but everyone know who's "the real" #justQueen is.. even if you CAN'T STAND IT!! Love me some JJ too though

This is one of those songs that should have reached number one in all the music charts. It's so good. It's a soothing and awesome throwback to 90's R&B.
It should have been a hit.
Definitely. Its such an amazing record.
"Butterflies like MJ, I had to fit it in"
