The creative side is really good, to come up with those scripts and dialogue while not being repetitive with your own stuff or what others have done has to be a challenge. the casting, acting, filming and editing are equally impressive. Yea, we saw a couple minor things here and there but these guys working for me have 10-15 years of experience and they have been known to make bigger goofs than the things we saw.

But thanks again. We have made a ton of big goofs, but the important thing is that we learned our lessons and improved on it the best we could with the next steps we took.
We still have tons of room for improvement, and are still coming up with ideas. It’s just hard to hold down a day job and organize a film shoot with your friends who now all have day jobs too. Lol

    BRO OR WILL?
Thank you all for watching, I appreciate you taking the time to support us and thanks for the feedback.
However, there is the ongoing debacle that Dean, while tending to Will, says “You’re going to be fine, bro.”
First of all, I’ve received some very harsh comments over this ridiculous thing, and I’d very much appreciate you be respectful when giving your feedback. We do put a lot of work into these short films in order to make them enjoyable for you guys, and I hope y’all understand that.
Two, I listened to the spot in the video where you can hear Dean say “You’re gonna be fine, bro,” and I can say that you guys certainly have a right to think that’s what I said. I don’t blame you for thinking so. But, I did in fact say “You’re gonna be fine, Will,” and some sort of background noise messed it up or something, I honestly don’t know. In my day to day life, I almost never say bro. Only if I’m joking. And I most definitely would not have said it while making a 1940s film. I know it wasn’t used back then, and if anyone on sight had said it, our military advisor ,Nathan, would have caught it and corrected it.
Just to ensure that I actually didn’t say “Bro,” we went back and listened to the original clip several times, in many different speeds and pitches, and it most definitely is not “bro.” I’m even willing to post a stupid video of the raw audio just to reassure all my viewers who think we’ve blundered.
Thanks again for watching, and I hope y’all will continue to support us and our content.

Here are a few tips for you as a movie maker from an old soldier:
Infantrymen in the line are dirty, exhausted, sleep deprived and afraid. Clean uniforms, hands and fingernails are out of place. Seasoned 18 year olds should look 25, a 22 year old should look 30.
One man digs while the other pulls security. Just FYI. Nicely done. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

@@DaveSCameron Those are observations on being an infantryman during wartime, not intended to critique. I’m not a film maker and cannot really comment on your work. But I was an infantry soldier who served during Vietnam. I know infantry people were pack mules on 2 feet who were fearful, exhausted and typically low on water. They were often 18 and a half years old and had no say in what happened to them, with their life already forfeit. To survive was to be born again. Their interests were Mary Jane Rottencrotch (a military term), cold beer and a muscle car with mag wheels. The CMH meant Coffin with Metal Handles, not Congressional Medal of Honor. It is a terrible thing to die at age 18, no matter the reason or cause.

"Nice place ya got here." Lol... great line. Really well done guys. Fine acting, great storyline, well-written, and nicely photographed. I obviously don't know what camera equipment you use, but the images are crisp, well-lit, and wonderfully shot. There were some excellent 'attention-to-detail' moments in this film... the slightly-muffled audio when the close-ups of the soldier in a trance-like state were shot, as an example. Great job... well thought-out. And some really cool special effects too... the visuals of the weapons firing were amazingly realistic. Maybe you used real guns to add authenticity. Lol. And it was all enhanced by fine acting. I like how the dialogue is understated, without unnecessary theatrics, and the young man who got shot in the gut near the end showed believable emotion, and his subsequent "death" was well done. The other "kills" were aldo well-played... I especially liked when the German who got shot in the back rose and took another one while trying to run. A nice touch that added interest without overplaying the scene. Impressive all the way around. Hope you enjoy making these films as much as your viewers enjoy watching them, which is considerable.

@@Samsstuff10 Probably a big part of why the feel of authenticity is so strong in this film. I've re-watched it several times, and It's more enjoyable... and impressive... with each viewing. I've seen professionally-made war movies that didn't measure up to this effort. The attention to detail, pacing, understated dialogue, and fine acting are impressive. I hope all involved are proud of this film... they should be.

Uniforms are way to clean even for replacements.Even staying out a couple of days doing field exercises us enlisted got dirty. Had to be a Captain or above to stay clean.

@@boblouis2280 I appreciate your feedback. I’m sorry, but I didn’t see you there at our film shoot, so how can you know what I actually said? Myself and every other person there knows what was said and they all stand behind me knowing that something went wrong in the audio.
I can hear why people think I said “bro.” I really and truly can. But alternatively, I have also reviewed the raw footage about another forty times (which I am willing to release for every single know-it-all like you who calls me a liar) which clearly resonates that I did in fact say “Will.”

Kinda lost me when the Medic says "You'll be alright bro." Lets stick to the script.

Hey, thanks for watching, I appreciate you taking the time to support us and thanks for the feedback.
However, there are three things wrong with these two sentences.
One, the Medic didn’t say the line. Dean did, and this is Kevin speaking, so I’m the one who actually said it.
Two, I didn’t say “bro,” I said Will. There’s an audio glitch or some background noise making it seem that way, but I’ve reviewed the raw footage about thirty times by now due to other folks commenting that they heard “bro” and that’s not what I said. We’re not stupid, we all know here that they didn’t use that term in the 40s.
Three, there actually was no script. We had the idea for how the story was going to begin, but otherwise we made up all the dialogue and action as we went, and for what it’s worth I think it looks and sounds great.
Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. We’re really doing the best we can with what we’ve got over here.

@@prosaicpictures Thank you for the response and explanation! I appreciate the effort and feeling behind your project. Sometimes it is much easier to quickly criticize than to be a bit more thoughtful in my tone. I certainly don't think you folks are stupid. My sincere apologies if I came off that way. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing Prosaic Pictures future projects.

Obviously written and portrayed by people who have never been in a fire fight. BAR not used correctly and both the rifle grenade and how you throw a grenade are blatantly ....wrong. Not fiction but fact from Captain. Clark's Almanac, U S Marine Corps retired.

James Clark, thank you for your service 🙏🏼 You have to understand, this was made by a few buddies who wanted to make a short film. Obviously we haven’t seen real combat, but this wasn’t meant to look 100% realistic. Of course we’d want it to look 100%, and maybe our future films will look better. This was also filmed in one day. You gotta give us credit for how well it actually turned out. Thank you for your review.
