I am from the East, Igbo precisely. Obey is more popular in Igboland in the 70's than in Yorubaland. He had fans every corner you turn, every where you go, young and old. I remember that time vividly when we were in High school, bars, restaurants and record sellers in Nsukka, Enugu and other cities will put big loudspeakers outside blastering "Board Members" and other Obey's great songs. Every party or club you go to, Obey's songs MUST be played. That was the good old days when life was life. We had no money but we had great fun. Money was not a big deal then to young people, unlike now where a 10 year old want to live big, drive SUVs, Mercedes Benz car etc. through crimes and all kinds of frauds. When I think or talk about those days now, I always feel like am talking about another country, and not Nigeria. My people, can anyone explain to me what happened to Nigeria we used to love, cherish and enjoy.
It means God is always slow to anger. He will be looking at you to continue with your way of life.Obey is now saying whatever lifestyle that is yours, wether good or bad,God is there watching you. That is the bottom line of the song.In fact, the title of the song centres around that.Even though he also mentioned that among what God created human beings are the most difficult to deal with.
Godwin Enyi you are right about those days, we waka about the way we like and nobody will kill you for ritual. Then party start at 12 midnight till day break without any fear but now if you try it you will find yrself in one ritualist house. May God help us repaid Nigeria.
I love Obey songs 🎵 🎵 generally. It's inspiring. when am stressed and needs to relax my brain, l listen to his music, it resets my brain and makes me take things easy as it comes..... God bless your soul.

Now, just imagine that this came in April 1974, 37 years ago, and then think of the noise that the younger imitators of juju are generating now! Why can't we keep up a certain tempo even if we can't raise the bar?
God bless you Chief Evangelist Fabiyi. Your songs inspires me. When under stress the tunes relaxes me and work goes on smoothly. God will continue to use you to strengthen souls. The Lord's anointing on you will not dry. God bless and good luch.

OBEY...YOU BLOW MY MIND. YOUR MUSIC REMINDS ME OF THE GOOD DAYS OF MY CHILDHOOD IN DAT SAME BLOODY NIGERIA OF TODAY. WISH WE COULD HAVE THOSE DAYS AGAIN FOR MY KIDS TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE...DAYS OF MUKULU-MUKE WHEN LIFE WAS SLOW-PACED AND LIVING WAS OF HIGH QUALITY.
One Yoruba adage says "there is no one like God" but there is somebody that resemble another person. I want to tell you there is no musician like Obey since 70's
Another master piece tune from the Commander-in-Chief Ebenezer Obey with Decca Records. Ebenezer Obey is singing about God's creation, that despite human beings being created by God, they are the most difficult to contend or deal with. A great classic song!
Listening to these classic old music, gives me an appreciation for talents, and ingenuity that existed at that time. The production is fantastic, the engineering is good, all instrument of play is clearly and timely introduce, no noise giving incomprehensible vibes. I have been listening to this song since 1974 and I love it so much but I don't understand the words. May he continue to live long.

I prefer his old music to the recent ones abeg. There is nothing wrong with the old ones, they are very philosophical, with deep meanings.
