- Food dye sensitivity is common in people with conditions such as Tourette syndrome, ADHD, Autism and complex mental health and emotional problems. Food dye sensitivity can trigger behavioural difficulties, emotional difficulties, extreme anxiety, tic attacks and tic fits in people with Tourette's, panic attacks, meltdowns, rage attacks, depression and a host of complex and debilitating neurological and psychiatric symptoms in people so predisposed.
My food dye sensitivity was detected by my mum when I was 3 years old when she did some online research and found that food dyes can trigger behavioural and emotional difficulties and problems in children- as well as adults. Most people are only sensitive to one or two food dyes, but I am sensitive to over 10 different dyes.
