I am at the end of finishing my A level psychology course and I personally really enjoyed it and I found it by far my easiest A level (I also did biology and geography). How good it is as a subject very much seems to be based on how the teachers teach it rather than the actual subject as I didn't need to use the textbook at all in lessons.
how was Biology?
Was it hard, also is it a subject which mainly girls take
your hair looks really pretty
aw thank you🥰
Um…. I picked it bc I thought it’d be interesting and I’m in year 11 atm.. I’m doing finance so I picked maths and economics and idk what to pick for the 3rd one so I picked psychology .. I didn’t pick a science cuz I’m kinda mid at it (7’s) ah I’m scared now
edit: i changed psychology to geography
Update😭
@@pan.asheee i got 9 in geography , 8 in maths , bio , chem , physics , english lang , 7 in literature and spanish
@@Shyzzy-i5rnice, well done
watching this while preparing for my a level psychology mock. Regretting it everyday till date :(
Is it that bad? Im thinking of taking it.. should i not...?😅
@@Skibbiiddrizzlwr everyone has their personal preference but from what I hv gathered no one around me incl myself enjoys it. The amount of memorisation is insane and it’s nothing like what I expected it to be. My hardest a level for sure.
@shaihashafiu4 imo yes. I love Psychology so much. Got an A* and yes that's a lot of work and you have to know so much but if you really find it interesting go for it
buuut....I see the batman!
i want to go into law and i find psycology intresting but remembering isnt my strong point... would you reccomend me not to do it?
Dont. Law is hard enough. U dont need psych. Unless u improve
hey, im doing law n psych a levels n im doing really well in both but law is a lott about remembering. Like wrote learning to an extend. Psych is more about knowledge and remembering the main stuff n writing it in ur own words. Make sure you go through the syllabus objectives of each sub and also view the syllabus. Law is v v v lengthy too
I’d say that the more important thing for law is being able to sit and read for hours all day rather than remembering things. But don’t underestimate the reading, it takes over your life!!
I don’t care what grade I get in this pants, choosing this is one of the worst decisions in my life, I have no interest in this rubbish, and it’s really really long and boring, and I’m only a month in and I’m only the approaches, fuck psychology, and while I’m commenting this, I’ve got a fucking practice test tomorrow (I’m sick of this shite)
I'm really watching this whilst getting E's on every exam so far
Your video showed up when I was trying to look for something to motivate my students who are doing psychology at A-Levels. I concur with you in terms of the technicalities involved in the subject and it makes me wonder why the approach to the pedagogy in psychology is quite different comparing the teaching at A-levels and in the university. Anyway, I see that content is preparing students to face the countless research studies that they would be facing/reading in the future (if they take psychology as a major). I am relieved that there are strategies to answer the questions and opportunities to learn the techniques to write and answer the questions 'academically'. I also do believe that teachers (like myself) are trying our best to make it as interesting as possible for our students. Perhaps, it would be more interesting to focus more on the application of theories and concepts as much as the development of the studies/concepts. The question still remains - "Shall I share your video with my students?"....In a dilemma...haha...
okay you are saying those topics are boring but i am genuinely interested in those topics 😂😉
Me watching this the day before my exam 😭😭
I absolutely loved it! I was so interested in everything we do and all the content. I am now planning to become a clinical psychologist!! I guess it's different for everyone.
Thank you very much for this video. I want to go into medicine and I need an additional science subject besides biology and chemistry and I have been trying to decide between physics and psychology and your video has brought the clarification I need to make an informed decision.
This is litch my situation but instead of physics biology whatttt😭
@@chelseachingo9691 don’t do biology psychology is so much easier biology is the devil
Wth,,, that's literally my situation rn😭😭😭😭
What did you end up doing?
Isn't possible to do maths instead as well?
Hi, Jessica! I've wasted 2 years trying to get through A levels with biology, chemistry & physics but realised at the end that these subjects aren't for me. I want to go for an Anthropology/Sociology degree and now I'm considering taking Psychology, Sociology & Law for Alevels. In your experience, does this seem like the right choice?
I’m so sorry for this late reply, look at the criteria for the university course you want to do and make sure if it requests any specific a levels you do them. Aside from that I think the most important thing is doing subjects that you will enjoy and be good at because it’s better to get AAA with less academic subjects than BBB with the sciences. An A is an A at the end of the day x
@@jessicaann1 thank you so much!! You're right. I ended up taking Biology, psychology and sociology. I'm doing really really well love all my subjects so far!
how is it that i have the same question, i failed my chem, bio, physics 12th year papers this year and i'm honestly happy that i got this opportunity , i'm also confused that if sociology, psychology and law make a good combination or psychology, business, law? i want to go into aviation management but honestly every university has very vague requirements saying that only 3 a levels are requires and it's not mentioned which..
Thank you for this! Videos like these are really helpful in making an informed decision so thank you so much :)
It is actually crazy how beautiful you are and also very eloquent you are. It's mad
i dont know why i’ve only jsut seen this comment but thank uuuuu :)))) x
Lol I love your honesty. Thinking of redoing year 12 and taking it
i saw this too late
omg haha sorry about that x
i took it cuz i couldnt take anything else, im currently in the time frame of before the summer break starts. Hopefully, psychology is not a pain in the ass for me.
Wish i watched this b4 picking psych…..
what exam board did you do?
Thank you for sharing your opinion however, I disagree. I absolutely love Psychology, Biology and Medicine. They’re the best subjects ever. I also really love Chemistry, English, Drama and History. I love Physics as well (just not electricity). I also love Forensics. It’s really interesting.
Thank you so much for this video, u can't imagine how much it helped❤
I've picked psycology 💀 but I want to do it for uni
Ahhh I hope you love it then :)
I kinda regret taking it tbh
I’m in yr11 idk what to do omds
What did you end up doing
@@Samuel.Gry_ bro I ended up taking applied sciences and health and social care. I had to repeat yr12 but now I'm yr13 I should be at uni or apprenticeship rn, but guess what me and the lads took psychology and history they ended up with grade D and E. I left the course cuz I knew mid year I'll end up with these bullshit grades and also I took History 😭😭 so was shit subject to so i quitted everything. Well it's better to realise sooner than later cuz I wasn't allowing myself to waste my time on these courses
@@raevestephen6028 did you revise or nah for history and psychology?
@@Samuel.Gry_ I did but is just to much content
God I wish I saw this in September 😫😫😫too late now. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?😭😭😭😭fml
*and I do history and law on top of that
How is it and history?
What board did you do?
me watching this while procrastinating doing a past paper and in the middle of year 13 psych 😍😍😍 honestly i do enjoy psychology a level however its good to know that theres so much content, aqa are SO ANNOYING i hate the way they word questions 😭😭😭 i do recommend past papers and learning how to decode questions to deal with this 😜 also biopsych is the bane of my existence 😭😭😭😭 other than that i do really enjoy some topics like psychopathology and schizophrenia are so interesting 😜 however fun fact that for a lot of unis doing psychology u dont actually need psych a level like i was applying to st andrews which has been ranked the top for psych for some years and you dont even need psych a level to get into the course 🫢 anyway to anyone thinking about a levels or doing a levels good luck! im a few months into year 13 doing textiles, art and psych and i really enjoy the subjects i take but dont like the amount of work as im lazy 😜 however i enjoy a levels a lot more than gcses and my recommendation is to look at how the subjects are structured and do what you think you would actually enjoy 😋❤️
