I lived in Uzbekistan for 2 years and the tomatoes were the best I've ever had still. The melons are definitely the best fruit there, though! The Metro stations are amazing...when I was there you couldn't photograph them. The prices have skyrocketed...it was 35 so'm 20 years ago. LOL. Glad you enjoyed your time there. You should go out to the western part of the country and see the ancient fortresses in the desert.
Our Biryani come from this Uzbeki Dish Pulov , It's a Soilders Meal Nice to see Original Dish in full splendor . Uzbekistan land of Warriors ,Home of Babar the Conqueror👑
Aurangzeb Alamgir عالمگير Conqueror of the World first authentic comment from indian subcontinent who accepts the real origin of biryani is uzbek (central asian) Pulav
Those tomatoes were sooo red! Mark Weins said the same thing about the fruit and veg, that they were so much more tastier than any other. Wish I had some. 🤤
While plov is the most traditional Uzbek food, the Tashkent Metro is it’s most treasured thing. Thank you David for showing the Metro. Would have been great if more stations could been shown. Every station has a different theme.
I loved hearing about your family during world war 2 I had a great Uncle who fought during world war 2 am my fathers Great Uncle he fought in both world war 1 an 2 you are right it did affect so many people and a lot of families fought too 😊
If you come next time to Uzbekistan, you have to visit Chorsu Bazar and old city ! This is my home and i love my country. Thanks for your video and welcome to Uzbekistan we are always glad to see you !!!! :-)
The pulaw u tasted in India is actually Plav brought to India by Uzbekistan after Mugals came to India. And I have also seen that you ate s lot of samosas in India. Samosa also is from Uzbekistan. Babar was the first Mugal king of India and he came from Uzbekistan.
Beautiful life history David, thank you for sharing! I appreciate your upbringing! We all SHOULD know our roots, unfortunately, we don’t....and this is when we should know we are from who’s who. Again, thank you much!! xo

As much as I love this guy and his content sometime his action like this kinda threw me off like you been traveling around so much by now he most have good understanding of how much people suffer to make ends but sadly they still take benefits of kindness like this 😔
antonio a 😂 My friend, in Uzbekistan we all do like this (tasting before choosing and buying) and it’s acceptable because sellers are offering themselves to try what customer is buying. after tasting if u don’t choose the fruit then we will ask him to accept our actions as excuse and reply definitely will be OK :)
David I'm wondering how does it feels by you if someone is eating from the same plate and spoon and put that in your mouth. You've could be loyal for sharing before you put your mouth on all those food, so much food that you couldn't eat all by yourself!
