Kajillionaire! Yes, more people should watch it! I had no idea it was gay and was obviously pleasantly surprised. Gina’s character is so sweet and gentle with Old Dolio it’s beautiful to see.
As a Chinese lesbian, I can say that no, not all Chinese movies or shows are like that. However, because of censorship, all gay content are limited to web series and whatnot, and they do have a certain…flavour. Lesbian movies/shows made by Taiwanese and HK creators are probably more accessible.
I kinda didn't realize Kajillionaire is gay until the very last minute. 😂 (I'm also Chinese, Hi~)

I've done the Chinese Movie/series rabbit hole, there are a handful of actresses that you can just follow and the lists go on and on and on. It is true, you need to be alert the whole time, but I love it

You Can Live Forever was a good movie but i wasn't satisfied with that ending. Like it didn't have any meaning to it and she ended up married to a man and having a kid so what was the point ending the movie with them reuniting and talking briefly? If there's a part 2 then things will be much more complicated for them than the first one. So yeah, i wasn't too satisfied with that ending.😅 I guess tiktokers don't care about Happy endings huh

the sapphic chinese shows ive watched were all the same way. they went 200 mph with insanely convoluted plots that would be hard to keep with, even in an english speaking series... so i'd suggest keeping with the korean/thai/japanese shows. just my opinion though ;D
Just a reference point on Anna, it was released about five years before Atomic Blonde so not a rip off of that movie. The story line has been done to death though, ie. "Red" with Scar Joh, also released after Anna. The original story - drug addict/killer imprisoned/recruited by the KGB as an assassin with zero remorse was first done in the seventies or early eighties (though I can't remember the original title) and it was probably a retelling of a book. There is about three TV series based on the same story as well.
If you mean Nikita/La Femme Nikita there was at least 2 older movies and 2 shows with Nikita as main char and more that was inspired by those, but used dif names. I gues even Alias(Jen Garner) comes to mind even th. that 1 had slightly diff. flavor.
Atomic blonde is based off the graphic novel The Coldest City (2012). Not commenting on ripping off anything or not. Just the timeline

Bound is amazing. When I was in high school there was a movie store that had 1 shelf of gay movies. When the movie was released the guy that worked there hid the video for me and insisted I buy it. I watched it 1 million times. its just good, And I laughed out loud when you said More beautiful for being broken is a movie. ... I couldn't do it. did it have a plot? so now i guess i have to find Kajillionaire.

I politely asked my wife to pay for a kindle subscription just so I could read all Evelyn's books. Then I went down a rabbit hole of sapphic romance after reading all hers. Milena McKay was recommended and each included age gap romance with some spicy parts. After I finished all her books I moved onto Anna Stone and currently on a 4th book of a series. The books also include an age gap, are much spicier, and explore power dynamics in relationships.

I'm a simple woman, I see Laoji I clicked. Also, short gl chinese series are underrated. When you get into the rabbit hole you'll not be able to get out of it. Idk about tiktok but I don't recomment it, I'm gatekeeping all my asian saphics hahaha

i have to say... a good kissing scene makes a movie watchable even if it is terrible. i mean, if i'm shouting "me next" from the sofa (often to the dismay of my girlfriend) then can it really be that terrible? even if it is objectively terrible? ... olivia? hmmm perhaps i should watch this... strictly for research.

Wicked Wealthy Woman 1 and 2 are not related, in one they are kind of family, and in the 2 is the sapphic thing, however, both are borderline homoerotic and also, important to know that Chine censors LGBT so the *gay* has to be shown in basically holding hands and I think is the gayest thing I've seen, I loved it it's one of my fav shows and actresses (fun fact: they have worked together in multiple gay series so I love them)
