- This past week, Marines, civilians, and partners from government and industry gathered at Modern Day Marine 2024 in Washington, D.C., to help shape the future of the Marine Corps.
The three-day event brings together representatives from across the United States and several allied and partner nations to collaborate and exchange information, ideas, and initiatives. Through exhibitions and presentations, the Marine Corps is able to engage, educate, and increase the public's understanding of our Corps as a responsive, adaptive, and technologically advanced force.

I’m a millennial Marine. We were so poor we had to make MRE bombs when we played OP-FOR. My band net was from 1969 and my helmet was from 1983 with the Humvee. We had older than the drivers driving them in 2003. Hope all that fancy equipment don’t make soft.

There are only a handful of medals that are earned by Marines. CAR, PH, Bronze Star, Silver Star, Navy Cross and MOH.

As a retired Marine, he can leave off half the ribbons he has on his "fruit salad" . Chesty Puller had 2 rows, and i can guarantee he saw 100x the shit this guy did.
That general probably never did anything beyond kissing ass.
Absolutely 5 Navy Crosses and 1 DSC alone speak for themselves!
Later pictures of Chesty he has way more than two rows...that being said his fruit salad was so much more impressive...Nobody will every have 5 Navy Crosses again plus an army DSC to boot...

I will never forget my Marine DI at Naval Aviator Officer candidate school. Tough, hard, brilliant. That said, I will not ever be comfortable with all the body art which I think takes away from the uniform. Security briefings as an aviator told us tats could be used to identify individuals and that was never a good thing.

My generation of Marine never had the opportunity to attend this type of Expo, all we did was, run, hump, and deploy.
I’m sure the crayon budget alone could supply kindergarten classes for a few years.

Just make sure to research which MOS you'd like to pick. The right MOS can help you later on in life when you eventually transition out.

I've recently noticed a few postings of 4wd Razor-like forward command posts that could be used for roving Javelin missile teams or forward drone operators or towed missile/laser weapons systems/Elint components as needed for a particular mission. Impressive shit!

These haircuts are pushing regulations and those ridiculous mustaches Would be deemed unsat in the 90's. I went to my Nephews graduation from 4th Battalion (yes 4th, lol) and it has changed so much and not for the better. I wouldn't recognize them as Marines.
I remember when the 4th RTB was only on The Island and only trained females with their ' purple ' like RTB PT gear.
In my opinion, and Top said it best " Opinions are like azz holes, everybody has one!". but in my opinion, some things didn't need changing.
I remember when every Marine wanted a high and tight, and mustaches were kept clean. 1996-2000, rahh.
Now they have popcorn heads and Mario Brothers mustaches.
