Honestly the work on the creature models for this game are pretty good for what it is. That invisibility effect for the Wallaby clearly had a lot of effort put in. I don't even want to think about how complicated the shader for that was.

"Teleports in by appearing as bone that grows the mucles/veins and finally then the flesh on top" may have been a specification for that monster type.

I kinda love this game, but at the same time I do see where it lacks. I can't imagine how devastating everything was when the screenwriter passed away... So I understand how that might translate into the finished game. I think the monster/battles were repetitive. I would've loved a bit more lore on the story too. But other than that, for what it is? It's a decent game :)

I believe the original design was for all of the enclosures to be accessible and only 1-2 monsters AT FIRST requiring you to scan and make educated guests before the monsters ESCAPE THEIR ENCLOSURE and moves out to kill or infect more animals/you. Also, I know they explain it, but it's a shame that there's no real 'fail state' in the game. You can literally run into the monster over and over again.

I enjoy how only see herbivores mutate excluding the penguins. It makes me think the parasite wants red meat and only changes the body plans when necessary. A lion is already perfect for hunting why change it? Also i like how the mutations mostly stem from existing genetic code by the looks of it.
This game really did have a lot of potential and I do feel like the screenwriter dying did contribute to the fact the game is a tad boring But I still think they could’ve totally put more effort into the gameplay to make it a tad less repetitive and at least try to continue the story on their own, of course I still understand this might’ve not been the easiest thing to do after losing someone on your team Hopefully someday they wi try to push out an update or remake this game that makes it a lot more fun and replayable because the concept is genuinely really cool
Sadly this game needed about another 6 months to a year in development before release. Fantastic idea. I'm a huge fan of The Thing and Lovecraftian horror stuff, but they really failed to deliver on this game.

Bruh I just heard that the screenwriter passed away 😭 I loved the games concept, yet I didn’t like its poor execution, guess there’s actually a reason for the games rushed quality.
Also, if you paid close attention to the photo in the "in memoriam of" section of the credits, the photo of the screenwriter is used as the photo of Doc (surrounded by diplomas/certificates) on the wall as you and the journo are walking to the office.
Guys you have to remember that this game was released after the creator had died, they weren't going to alter the game to the point it wasn't his game anymore. It was a good game, had great potential which was stripped from everyone bc of a death. Not bc the creator didn't care enough or whatever.

The game was pretty underwhelming. Repetitive, really. The trailer made it out to be this really cool thing. And it was cool, don’t get me wrong, it just.. lacked.
This game is sooooooo unfinished and choppy. It’s frankly an insane waste to get so far and then just… stop making it in the middle, slap on a bunch of abrupt almost-identical endings, call it “done”. A creator may have died, but the whole studio decided his dream their whole reputation can die with him, so fake ads and a half finished game is good enough to sell to their customers. Very disappointing.

I think one of the main reasons for its dislike is the fact that their main screen writer passed away during production. With as small of a team as they had that can be a critical blow. There were things we saw in the demo that didn't make it into game and that may have been part of the reason

This was really interesting to look at, I kinda want to know more about the reasons behind all of those moments where the models are clearly placed/moved specifically to cheat to the camera. You should also do one of these for the game Greener Grass Awaits, I think it deserves a look under the hood, at least for how some of the effects work.
The reason this game isn't what it looked like in the trailer is because the creator passed away halfway through development, so it's actually pretty impressive what they were able to put together afterwards, they could've just stopped making the game🤷

There aren't actually 23 ending all with unique cutscenes, what was covered here is actually all of it. What there is however is a whole lot of variations, be it calling Lily to warn her or not, at what time you called, or for simply ignoring her, along with saving the journalist or not, because the bulk of that counter is all the combinations for the ending paragraph where it summarises what you did, which all the choices contribute to
Looking closely at the animal models, this was the type of horror that i think fnaf was trying to attempt with the over use of mouths and teeth. Fnaf just tried to slap more and more teeth and big mouths on their characters and call it scary, but it actually works super well here and that it is possiable to slap big mouths and teeth on characters and make it scary that way
