- This Magi's/Cleric's druid build maximizes healing power to help keep your party up and super buffed through the toughest situations without making you the tank (though you could probably be the tank if you really wanted to).

Great Druid guide! Thanks a ton!
Good build overall but some notes:
1: You should take heal glyph over healing spring firstly for the extra stack of GotL it provides and secondly for the burst healing in cases where your group does something stupid like bombing the party in sabetha or missing a green thingy on VG.
2: Entangle is not needed unless you take a spirit on gorsy (which you shouldn't in the first place). Spirit is much better choice mainly for stability but it helps a lot in heavy damage situations.
3: Zealot armor is obviously a better choice. Healing should never be a problem even in bad pugs. The extra healing power and toughness clerics provide are wasted stats. On the other hand power and prec are never wasted stats. I know that you should not have any problems beating all 3 bosses on full clerics and I know that the difference in your dps will be small, but there's no reason to waste it.

1) When we were theorycrafting these builds, we were using more engi-heavy comps and so blasting low-cooldown water fields was an amazing way to mitigate damage. Now I do use the healing glyph much more often with warrior/ele heavy comps - though the regen from Healing Spring is pretty nice for Avatar energy if no one else in your group is providing regen.
2) I agree that entangle isn't necessary unless you're put on a spirit. I'll typically use another glyph just for more grace. Spirit I tried but in general is just too slow of a reaction to rez people.
3) The theory is that the healer should be doing so much healing that others don't really have to think about touching their heal skill and that others can play more aggressively and even absorb blows that any reasonable player would normally dodge - kind of as a "trust fall" kind of deal. Even as people have learned better positioning so that full healing is indeed not necessary to ensure your squad maintains good scholar uptime, I've simply swapped in my zerk trinkets. Theoretically, a magi's/zerk setup has very similar DPS (within weapon RNG) and healing as a zealot's with a whole lot more survivability should a squadmate get downed in a dangerous area or should you want to use creative means to charge Avatar faster.

Great guide, really enjoyed it. thank you
what about the spirit bug, that spirits prioritize pets and minions for their buffs and not party members?
+Jango Schultz Honestly its just a bit shit. Hopefully it gets fixed soon...
Thanks for the guide.
great guide, with the spirit bug in raids I don't think it's as good to take multiple spirits, on fights where cc is needed you could take muddy terrain, spike trap, frost trap, or SoTW for more AF generation and pet dps.
+Robert Miller Spirit bug is fixed! Feel free to use tons of them! If you for some reason don't want to use Spirits, let's say you have no Condis for Sabetha, then you can swap to Glyph of Equality. It's a very strong CC skill for break bars and it procs Verdant Etchings.
Is it far worse running a Zealot's variant of this build as opposed to the Magi one? I run Zealot's Armor with Monk runes, Cleric trinkets and Back piece, Cleric Staff with Transference and Water, Commander's Axe/Warhorn with Force/Air and the consumables/specializations you mention. I usually take the Healing Power to Power one trait although I'm not sure how beneficial it is. Search and Rescue I find myself not using often (the trait variant) and the Extra damage from boons doesn't seem like that big of a boost. Although I guess I should go for that considering I'm running Zealot's and not Magi's. I haven't tried using the Staff CD trait instead of the heal one, I might give it a go but I really like the Glyph Heal so I'll probably stick to that for the future as opposed to Healing Spring. In regards to utilities - I keep using Spirits, except on Sabetha i found myself swapping off Sun Spirit since we didn't have any Condis (I haven't downed Sabetha yet, just got her to 15 or so %). I find myself using the Glyph Elite a lot, the shout feels like a waste, maybe I should consider Entangle more for Sparks on VG or phase Elites on Gorseval. The spirit I've ran around with a lot but I am not sure how useful it's ever been... I feel like it takes WAAAAY too long to res up someone with it for it to be a real reactive skill.
I technically have an extra spare set of Ascended Armor that I can swap to some other stat set (Magi's for example or full Cleric for tanking) but I really feel like Zealot's Armor with Cleric Trinkets and Weapon is the best split of defensive/offensive/healing power stats. I might be completely off in my assumption but from a stat balance it feels just right. For full tanking what would you say is my best option say if I want to be the tank and healer for Vale Guardian? Nomad's trinkets with Cleric's back piece, Cleric staff and Cleric's armor? Or Magi's armor with Nomad's trinkets? A bit lost when it comes to tank-healing since I haven't done it on Vale, only on Gorseval... And for Gorseval I did it with the setup described above.
Thanks in advance for any input!
i run zealots gear with a scholar rune, i always carry a magi set with monk runes though until my group and me get used to a boss.
is there any wvw variant? if not can someone made one with gw2skill? sorry for my english
Do you think that Ventari Revenant can be viable as a healer? Especially compared to the druid
What are your thoughts on Minstrel stats and equipment. I'm highly interested in it for a healer Druid like in this build. I like that it's a new set of stat combinations and that its kinda a cool set of stats.
+Sorion Hex I think the boon duration isn't exactly the best choice for a Druid, and it would provide less healing power than a magi/cleric set. It would make you incredibly tanky, though - not quite as tanky as Nomad but more healing power than Nomad.
So it might be more of a Tempest thing then huh? I was reading their skills and they can create boons and copy them onto allies. They're also support healers, just not as much healing as Druid. Hmm.
Hi DEKeyz, would magi's trinkets be better over Clerics if you have them? For instance, I have Bane's Tooth and Faolain's Blossom from dungeons.. are these a better choice than the cleric accessories? Thanks for the guide!
+Spike S It's hard to determine an optimal Toughness/Vitality since it's pretty encounter specific. Going Cleric's -> Magi would decrease your DPS (though it's pretty low already), but would create fewer tank aggro conflicts with low armor tanks, so it's up to you.
i am seen lot of healing druid builds with magi, zealot, clerics and non with full zerker or some dps one. Sadly i made all my ascended gear already and i am not planning to start a new set or change the stats so anet decide to change something (like they did with AF) and make everything useless again, losing money in the process, nah.
Our healer uses full zerker with no problems. It's all a matter of l2p for the current raid wing.
+Ababe Love and Peace I think there is a distinct qualitative difference.
+Nike! Maybe my wording was pretty poor, I didn't mean it's necessarily bad to not play berserker, but it's fully possible as several guilds already did it.
+Jesper “Dib” Locher we did full clear yesterday in 1h with berserker druid with a couple of wipes.
+Ababe Love and Peace build? gear? etc?
Did you test the tempest healer rather than druid healer?
Why healing spring over the glyph heal? Spring requires a mob to activate it, seems like the glyph does a lot of healing (shorter CD, also) and you can be more mobile with it
+Skylark Chip Healing Spring only requires an ally with less than 100% health to enter it to activate it, and the water field it provides can allow you and your squad to blast a lot of healing if required. Recently I have been using the glyph heal much more often for the extra Grace stacks, though.
yeah forgot to mention the grace stacks too, thanks for the response. I think I'll stick with the glyph for VG due to all the movement, but for other bosses I can see the water field being useful!
Hi Dekeyz, could you explain the use celestial back piece instead of clerics? Thank you very much!
+deadceyx Celestial was easier for me to obtain than Cleric's. Cleric's would be just fine, though.
So if you don't want to also double as a tank would you take of cleric? Or assume the tank has way more toughness then you with the cleric trinkets on
+Mathew Hughes You have about 1450 toughness for a total of 2600 armor. If your tank has less than that, then an appropriate change would be to use Magi's rings instead of Cleric's.
I've not yet raided as I'm saving and slowly aquiring the gear, I crafted my Bough of Melandru back item but I chose Clerics stats, would this be alright or is Celestial absolutely necessary? I thought I'd ask anyway even though I know people's builds vary. Thanks
+Frozen454 Clerics or Magi's are absolutely fine if you're going through all the effort of getting the Bough of Melandru :)
I'm a bit confused about healing spring heal since HoT. It always acted like a water field, but since HoT, when I use healing spring, I don't get a water field anymore but all I get is a green circle. When I blast this green circle, I 'm not getting area healing blasts. I tried unspeccing druid, but It's still not working. What am I missing?
It will not activate when your full health, it stays like a trap until someone below full hp walks into it. It will then trigger the trap creating the water field
Dekey, I would love to ask if there any acessories change so we could put the thoughness down, as our tank normally runs with 1400, that is low than the clerics trinklets. Thanks a lot,
+Allan Spagnol Comar Use Magi's or Zealot's trinkets instead. You could use Berserker trinkets if you don't have resources but it's not going to do a lot for your DPS.
Thanks a lot for the quick answer! See you!
I thought having that much toughness is counterproductive in raids - risks drawing aggro or at least create some weird aggro situations.
+XeRauS The tanks I typically run with have around 2800+ armor, so I haven't run into any issues.
+DEKeyz2Chaos To confirm, is aggro based off toughness or armor? Since you gave the example of armor and I always thought it was toughness. Every class starts with the same toughness but naturally heavy armor classes will start with higher armor. In some cases a toughness of around 1500 can be 2800 armor already, so that's not that far off from your toughness here.
What do you use for trinkets if your tank runs with low toughness eg. 1400
Do you use all fulll magi, or magi with serker trinkets?
+FlashMuse I use berserker trinkets in that case
I'm building zealot, I think is a good choice too.... but so many people tells me to build viper now, they say me it's the meta I must play. No healing power anymore.. is that true? I inverted so much money doing my armor to change it now..
+NobeUnited Right now I have a zerk set, a viper set, and a zealot set for my druid @.@ I tend to use zerk/viper for Spirit Vale and gradations of zerk/zealots in Salvation Pass. Things move around too much in Salvation Pass for condi to be as competitive there.
Thank you :D
Woooot longbow 4 actually being usefull? D:
Anything else than Furious Tuning Crystal?
+SamWinchester007 Just use normal sharpening stones. There's no better healing consumable equivalent.
why celestial backpiece instead of cleric?
+nigahiga878 Accessibility, but Cleric is also a great choice especially if using exotic gear.
condi reaper build????
+Maxim Santens Check Brazil's channel, he has some condi and hybrid builds
yeah i know, but i wanne see wath dnt comes up with ;)
also curious bout them, mainly for the damage rotations. I'm more curious about nemesis though, but he's a slowpoke. In the meantime, it seems best to slap some viper gear on brazil's builds. I (and it seems Brazil) strongly suspect that hybrid Reaper damage outclasses the pure condi build. Along with better sustained condi dmg Viper also gives more effective power dps (although the condi duration becomes redundant near the end and you might be inclined to switch in sinister to max out condi dmg). And considering that your crit will often be capped by decimate defenses... In be4: on a related note, epidemic caried by berzerker-engi,... condi damage is going to be a situational META, so reaper rules. Could be the way to go with the sapper champ.
I cant equip my staff
what is ac token ?
+JCSC a currency rewarded by completing the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon
where tempest raid build =0
