Coastal VA Offshore Wind

Construction is underway on our Coastal Offshore Wind pilot project - only the second such project in the country, and the first owned by an electric utility.
If fully developed, the adjacent commercial lease area could power half a million homes with clean, renewable energy.

Any power from wind and solar is good, but will it really be enough to supply all our needs in the future? I'm skeptical. How many wind turbines will it take to equal the power generation from a typical coal/natural gas generating plant?
