I love how Kraven in the Insomniac Spider-Verse is just Big Boss from the Metal Gear franchise, and all of his minions are just Outer Heaven. It's such a cool and clever modernization of the character from just being "guy who hunts really good."
Iirc he also had like a jungle hideout and an army of disciples in the Shattered Dimensions game. He looks amazing here tho. The chest hair is a nice touch.

Adore how the HUD jostles around with each movement and hit taken. Usually I don't like how tacked-on HUDs look, but that subtle movement makes it feel less "stickers on a flat screen" and more like part of the helmet you're wearing to battle. One of those "aw you didn't have to do that" features that adds a lot subconsciously.
my friends and i call it Polish. (not to be confused with the language) one of my favorite aspects of game design. underrated and so rarely seen in AAA games. but i think Insomniac was given a lot of time for this game and they gave a damn and it shows
I loved how it was done in Metroid Prime, but that's a game where it's actually a HUD put onto Samus's helmet and you're seeing the game from a first person perspective. This is doing that kind of movement in a 3rd person game which could take a lot more thought.

It's pretty insane how much they increased the max swinging speed, it looks to be at least 3x faster going off Penny's footage, this is likely done from both customer feedback and give better flow between the new web glider. What's really insane to me is how you can upgrade your top speed twice when you already travel significantly faster than you were in both prior games combined.

I haven't seen a PlayStation game flex this hard visually since Uncharted 4. That was the game that made me buy a PS4 and this might be the one that makes me buy a PS5.
This game is so good. The animation is beautiful, the controls are smooth, and the voice acting is all so good. I just wish I could play the ps5 version.
A thing worth mentioning for the ASL, is if you have any fans who are blind/visually impaired/simply just have you in the background won't kno what is being said if you don't have ASL narration.

You have to keep in mind, spiderman does more damage in the air. So with that said, I really appreciate all these options they have for letting you do max damage to multiple targets. Really keeps the flow going!

definitely agree that this is now the "boot up for 30 min and swing around" SM game, tho I can see myself booting up Miles for the good good snowy NYC vibes every once in a while. played with zero swing assist the whole game and it was a lot of fun, definitely understand not wanting to have to deal with potentially ending up on the ground if you swing too low tho. pretty hilarious when it ends up in Spider-Man face planting and sliding across the street tho
