"Unforgettable Day" is Dimash`s second own composition - released in August 2015. Dimash composed the music, and the lyrics in kazakh were written by Oral Baysengir. The host is not the host, Alai introduced himself as : "I’m a Kazakh singer and music producer, ALai." He accompanied Dimash and translated for him, as he knew both kazakh and chinese - which is also why he could follow the lyrics easily, both in chinese and in kazakh :) And it`s possible that he had heard Dimash`s song before, as Dimash had performed the song before "The Singer" competition. There`s videos of a stage performances of it, and a tv show performance of it (from 2015). Also, Dimash had his first headlined tour April -> December 2016, holding 25 concerts in 25 regions of Kazakhstan, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan, tour named "Unforgettable Day" after his own song by the same name - and probably performed this song on that tour as well. Absolutely love the soprano "runs", embellishments, from this version, love them dearly :)) He does that section different every time. He has many "calmer" songs. In this one he puts in a bit of desperation at the end, for the "how can I give you to another ?" part, in all the performances :) And here he put the extra sprinkle on top, because they warned him from the first episode that "the audience has to jump up in excitement, or you`re not going to get their vote" :)) In his concerts, half of the songs are less extravagant, and half are more of a roller-coaster. P.S. OMG the thunder noise timing was hilarious - "Ok, I won`t say anything bad about the performance" 🤣

@@JesseReacts Oh, wow, that can be dangerous, once a lightning hit in the park across the street from my dad`s apartment, he had the balcony door open and was walking towards it to get some papers from the balcony, the lightning hit, and he went blind and deaf for a few seconds, fell to his knees, didn`t know what the heck happened 😬 Also bad if you have stuff plugged in, the hdmi ports of our TVs got burned twice, when lightnings hit pretty close to our house. (now we unplug all laptops and tv when there`s a storm with lightnings). Anywaaay ... "gods are relentless Dimash fans" 🤣

I really like your reactions to Dimash's performances. Without screaming, jumping up, waving his arms and other falseness. At the same time, your reactions are very sincere, emotional, deep. This song has been growing on me and it’s now a favorite of mine. It’s so passionate and his voice once again is just beyond….next level goodness. There are several versions and all are amazing. Especially the Dimash Digital Show version is my fave. The GAKKU version has a special surprise as well. I highly recommend you check out both at some point.

I agree it's largely neglected as far as the Unforgettable Day reactions. I find this one particularly beautiful though, because of the insane backing choir, the live trumpet, and the vocalizations he does near the end are unique, I've never heard him do it that way since.❤️
Gotta say i am curious on the “bigger and better” versions. But i rather see him gradually grow then jump in with a recent video just to go back without amu context to some of his earlier work haha. This is already quite exceptional!
@@JesseReacts I don't necessarily agree that the others are bigger and better. In some ways Dimash, as he's grown, does things more subtly, if you will. It really varies. His control, deeper range and level of perfection has definitely improved, but the choices he makes on how to use those tools is always a surprise. He does whatever serves the song.
Most of Dimash's song don't have wide range or high notes. This is a contest where he is supposed to show everything he can do, and in my opinion it doesn't matter what he does because the most important thing is that he does everything with so much passion and he does it so beautifully.
For sure! I’d imagine things to be a bit less in his “normal” shows. Can see why he does it and pretty sure every new crowd is hoping for thst live experience. It makes sense he’s doing it. Its unmatched
@@JesseReacts This "crowd" are actually the judges. It is a very prestigious contest for experienced, highly regarded and popular Chinese singers, and he is a young foreigner nobody heard of before. He is in a very difficult position there and must prove himself in every song not to be eliminated. If you want a song without wide range to react to, I can recommend you some. I have been to 5 solo concerts of his already and he is totally incredible.
No, as everyone has said, he doesn't do the crazy ending on everything 😆. It's all right to be honest, don't be afraid! He was told in the beginning of the show that you have to shock the crowd and get them on their feet for this competition ❤️

I love this song. Actually his songs are different and the majority of them are normals without any high notes and they are very beautiful. Here it was a competition so he had to show off his voice a bit. You will find out later 😁
The first and last part is in his language, Kazakh and the middle bridge is in Chinese Mandarin, and the meaning of the lyrics in both languages kept the same with little variation, so the feeling is same. He composed it at the age of 19 his original and has been singing it in many concerts and shows in Kazakhstan before coming to China so maybe some audience knew the song beforehand. Dimash co-wrote this song with his music arranger, Erlan Bekchurin (his best friend and ‘brother’), when he was 19 years old - his father Kanat Aitbaev produced the song. Dimash was 22 years old when he competed on The Singer (2017) so he’d been singing this song for a few years - his friend and co-host on the show, Alai, a Kazakh singer and producer, would have been familiar with the song. Having watched a lot of the Singer 2017 artists you have to admire the backing band, they are really top notch. But you may notice that in the Dimash songs when they cut to the backing vocalists they sometimes have smiles on their faces, they know they are seeing an excellent talent. All the best, Peter.

Dimash wrote the music to this song when he was 18 or 19 I forget exactly but this is definitely his song, although I believe one of his cohorts wrote the lyrics to it.

The Best version in my opinion is from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s pure emotion. No one would have asked him to paint stick figures just because it would have been boastful to paint in the Sistine Chapel. Why shouldn’t artists show what they can do. I hope you forgive me for the comparison 😁. But now to the next performance if you want to continue. As far as I know, he didn’t have to perform the following week because he automatically advanced on Unforgettable Day. Then came Confessa and Diva Dance. Confessa is an Italian song written by Adriano Celentano. He is a famous italian singer. There you can hear his lower range. Beautiful ❤️. He begins here in Mandarin, then in Italian. Diva Dance is a song from the movie The 5th Element with Bruce Willis. I don’t know if you know the movie. This song was written for an alien opera singer and was not considered singable for a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. There a some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male! He did write this song when he was a teenager and he wrote it in his own Kazakh language. If I'm not mistaken this performance is in Kazakh. I may have misunderstood you but it sounded like perhaps you thought he'd transcribed it to Chinese because of the show.

Dimash wrote this song when he was 19. Possibly the words were positioned where the audience could see them and he did sing a portion of it in Mandarin. This is not the version where he hits the D8 note. That is on another video of this song that came later.0

"Unforgettable Day" is Dimash`s second own composition - released in August 2015. Dimash composed the music, and the lyrics in kazakh were written by Oral Baysengir.
The host is not the host, Alai introduced himself as : "I’m a Kazakh singer and music producer, ALai." He accompanied Dimash and translated for him, as he knew both kazakh and chinese - which is also why he could follow the lyrics easily, both in chinese and in kazakh :) And it`s possible that he had heard Dimash`s song before, as Dimash had performed the song before "The Singer" competition. There`s videos of a stage performances of it, and a tv show performance of it (from 2015). Also, Dimash had his first headlined tour April -> December 2016, holding 25 concerts in 25 regions of Kazakhstan, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan, tour named "Unforgettable Day" after his own song by the same name - and probably performed this song on that tour as well.
Absolutely love the soprano "runs", embellishments, from this version, love them dearly :)) He does that section different every time.
He has many "calmer" songs. In this one he puts in a bit of desperation at the end, for the "how can I give you to another ?" part, in all the performances :) And here he put the extra sprinkle on top, because they warned him from the first episode that "the audience has to jump up in excitement, or you`re not going to get their vote" :)) In his concerts, half of the songs are less extravagant, and half are more of a roller-coaster.
P.S. OMG the thunder noise timing was hilarious - "Ok, I won`t say anything bad about the performance" 🤣

@@JesseReacts Oh, wow, that can be dangerous, once a lightning hit in the park across the street from my dad`s apartment, he had the balcony door open and was walking towards it to get some papers from the balcony, the lightning hit, and he went blind and deaf for a few seconds, fell to his knees, didn`t know what the heck happened 😬
Also bad if you have stuff plugged in, the hdmi ports of our TVs got burned twice, when lightnings hit pretty close to our house. (now we unplug all laptops and tv when there`s a storm with lightnings). Anywaaay ... "gods are relentless Dimash fans" 🤣

This song has been growing on me and it’s now a favorite of mine. It’s so passionate and his voice once again is just beyond….next level goodness. There are several versions and all are amazing. Especially the Dimash Digital Show version is my fave. The GAKKU version has a special surprise as well. I highly recommend you check out both at some point.

I agree it's largely neglected as far as the Unforgettable Day reactions. I find this one particularly beautiful though, because of the insane backing choir, the live trumpet, and the vocalizations he does near the end are unique, I've never heard him do it that way since.❤️
Gotta say i am curious on the “bigger and better” versions. But i rather see him gradually grow then jump in with a recent video just to go back without amu context to some of his earlier work haha. This is already quite exceptional!
@@JesseReacts I don't necessarily agree that the others are bigger and better. In some ways Dimash, as he's grown, does things more subtly, if you will. It really varies. His control, deeper range and level of perfection has definitely improved, but the choices he makes on how to use those tools is always a surprise. He does whatever serves the song.

Most of Dimash's song don't have wide range or high notes. This is a contest where he is supposed to show everything he can do, and in my opinion it doesn't matter what he does because the most important thing is that he does everything with so much passion and he does it so beautifully.

@@JesseReacts This "crowd" are actually the judges. It is a very prestigious contest for experienced, highly regarded and popular Chinese singers, and he is a young foreigner nobody heard of before. He is in a very difficult position there and must prove himself in every song not to be eliminated.

I have been to 5 solo concerts of his already and he is totally incredible.

I love this song. Actually his songs are different and the majority of them are normals without any high notes and they are very beautiful. Here it was a competition so he had to show off his voice a bit. You will find out later 😁

Dimash is well loved and respected. He has such good values and is very down to earth besides having great talent and skills.
The first and last part is in his language, Kazakh and the middle bridge is in Chinese Mandarin, and the meaning of the lyrics in both languages kept the same with little variation, so the feeling is same. He composed it at the age of 19 his original and has been singing it in many concerts and shows in Kazakhstan before coming to China so maybe some audience knew the song beforehand. Dimash co-wrote this song with his music arranger, Erlan Bekchurin (his best friend and ‘brother’), when he was 19 years old - his father Kanat Aitbaev produced the song. Dimash was 22 years old when he competed on The Singer (2017) so he’d been singing this song for a few years - his friend and co-host on the show, Alai, a Kazakh singer and producer, would have been familiar with the song.

Dimash wrote the music to this song when he was 18 or 19 I forget exactly but this is definitely his song, although I believe one of his cohorts wrote the lyrics to it.

Samaltau is about a young Kazakh who was forcibly recruited by Russia in 1916. He was forced to leave his home country and his elderly parents to go to war (WWI) and does not know what awaits him there as a soldier or how his elderly parents are to manage without him. The Best version in my opinion is from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s pure emotion.

Normally there are no vocal acrobatics in his native songs and I love them a lot. In every of this songs you can hear the great love and devotion to his county and his people.
They are incredibly emotional and soulful and often very sad. Or rock.
Dimash is like Michelangelo. No one would have asked him to paint stick figures just because it would have been boastful to paint in the Sistine Chapel. Why shouldn’t artists show what they can do. I hope you forgive me for the comparison 😁.
But now to the next performance if you want to continue. As far as I know, he didn’t have to perform the following week because he automatically advanced on Unforgettable Day. Then came Confessa and Diva Dance. Confessa is an Italian song written by Adriano Celentano. He is a famous italian singer. There you can hear his lower range. Beautiful ❤️. He begins here in Mandarin, then in Italian. Diva Dance is a song from the movie The 5th Element with Bruce Willis. I don’t know if you know the movie. This song was written for an alien opera singer and was not considered singable for a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. There a some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male!

The appearance is a bit boastful again, but that’s how it should be. After all, the song in the film is sung by an alien👽. His version from his Bastau concert is short but much better. He did write this song when he was a teenager and he wrote it in his own Kazakh language. If I'm not mistaken this performance is in Kazakh. I may have misunderstood you but it sounded like perhaps you thought he'd transcribed it to Chinese because of the show.

Yes I think the song has definitely improved over the years. It has grown on me as one of my favorites. At first like most people it was all about the D8 in his Gakku performance but I really think I like his performance from the digital show the best.
