I was told that my husband was gay or bi. I have noticed that he lights up when he's around his male friends but I just figured it's because they are military buddies. The "brotherhood" and all. I prayed everyday of my pregnancy (until we found out the gender) because I didn’t want a DAUGHTER AT ALL! I know that sexual assault happens to boys/young men as well, but most predators in your family go after girls.
Even though I had a Son, I was STILL hyper vigilant 24/7 about protecting him from EVERYONE! I would shake uncontrollably when I would bathe him and get physically ill because my greatest fear was him growing up thinking I had ever been inappropriate with him.
I was so afraid that I prayed if he was healthy, that was it for me, and had a complete hysterectomy about 3 months before his 1st birthday.
He’s 26 now, I’m divorced from his Father, I became the first multimillionaire/millionaires in my families history, I’ve been single since 2016. I became a complete introvert after he left for College at age 17. I got no support from my family because my family was the 1st black family to settle in this small black town back in 1921. While we’ve had decades, and decades, and decades and decades of successful people in our family (I currently have a Nephew and Cousin that are in the NFL) I feel like I was a sacrifice because no one did anything to help me, when I told family, the police, and my schools Counselors.
